Peace of mind. When using that term regarding a parent in care,…it sounds simple, easy. But consider. After my Dad passed away, Mom, in her mid 80’s, although living in a wonderful 40+ community, was desperately lonely. As family,…we had no peace of mind. We couldn’t start to compensate for our Mom’s losses, her absent friends. Children are not able to fill the gaps left by losing the people in your life who know who you are, who know your personal story, who knew you before you became a parent. Watching my Mother, I learned to understand what it means to feel alone in a crowd. Mom was not happy. We had no peace of mind. So the decision to initiate the next stage was made. Mom visited all the local retirement facilities. She came back to Heaton Place as a favourite each time. She made the move. We worried. Respect. Understanding. Joy. Friendship. This is what the good staff at Heaton Place have delivered to our Mom. And being surrounded by people,…no,..friends, who are quickly becoming family, your own age,….is what the other residents bring to Mom. The facility itself is a building, that should be straight forward, simple enough. But a facility is only as good as the people managing it. The Managers, the front office staff, the kitchen staff, the day staff, the night staff, the maintenance staff, all play a positive roll in making Heaton Place more than a building, more than a facility,…Heaton Place is where our Mom lives,..it is her home. Heaton Place is wonderfully run facility, staffed and managed by people who routinely do the personal extras, who care about and for our Mom, and the other residents. Carrie is a true Gem. A blessing to those around her. The residents love her. Carrie and Heaton Place have given us our peace of mind back. It sounds simple, easy,..but we know Heaton Place is a gift.

Heaton Place has been a wonderful place for my parents to reside these last 2 years. I feel Heaton Place is not a place for residents to die, but to thrive! The facility is clean, warm and friendly with staff who are focused and welcoming. Thanks for all that you do - Heaton Place!

My parents have lived at Heaton Place for a year now. This is such a wonderful community. The staff is so caring and supportive and make the residents feel like family. The residents are also really supportive of each other and look out for one another. I worry so much less about them now that I know they are so well cared for. They are having the fun they deserve in this phase of their life.

I am thrilled with the treatment my mother has received since arriving at Heaton Place. The staff and residents are truly amazing! They have quickly become her friends, with most of my phone call conversations being about the activities she has become involved in and her new friends. It is not easy finding a new normal but Carrie and the staff at Heaton Place have made the change comfortable and safe. Mom’s suite is beautiful and she feels good walking into her new home. I always look forward to my visits and know in my heart she is in a great place!

I cannot give more praise to the management and staff of this beautiful place. My mother-in-law resides there and they go far above and beyond their duties to make the people that live there feel like a part of a family and community. During the Covid Pandemic these wonderful people take all the necessary precautions to keep our loved ones safe, and provide the people that reside there with the love and care we can not provide at this time. Good location for a seniors retirement home, amazingly large one and two bedroom suites (compared to other ones weve looked at). They have a big dining room and a variety of lounge and meeting spots. They are located on a quiet street, well away from highway noise, and walking distance to town.
