The one issue I do have is the lack of communication with social services in regards to my stay here. There are basically no updates. I have to go out of my way and ask. Since arriving here at Haven of Yuma, I feel like I've improved a little bit. I've been sent out to the hospital a few times and always choose to come back. Their admission valets are always there to greet me upon admission. They always have everything ready when Im on my way back. They always make sure my belongings are in my room if there's a roomchange done when I'm gone. The CNAs on the floor are sometimes a little bit slow to answer my call light but I understand I'm not the only resident here. Overall it's a good place for rehab.

Overall I had a good experience. The nurses and assistants were all sweet and helpful. When I pressed the call button they always came in a reasonable time. My room was cleaned daily. The only thing I have a concerd with was missing items on my meals. Items on the receipt that weren't on my tray. This happened quite often but if I mentioned it then it was resolved. Really wasn't a big problem but I think it should be addressed.

Upon being admitted to this facility I was immediately impressed by it's appearance. Coming through the doors I was greeted by enthusiastic professionals welcoming my arrival. I recall not being in the best of health upon my arrival. The medical staff began getting me settled in and they explained what I could expect to receive here and I am pleased to report my treatment was not lacking. I am far better off today. My medicine gets to me on time sometimes. I understand they can get busy sometimes so it's not too big of a deal. Therapy in this facility is way better than the other facilities I've been to. They focus on what I need unlike the other places which I like. I ended up discharging and deciding to come back to the same facility because I felt like I needed more therapy and they took me back in the same day. Now I am discharging once again and this time I feel a lot more ready than the first time. I feel a lot more confident about my discharge.

I am a current resident at this facility and have been treated with SO much respect by the staff here. They are so respectful, helpful, and caring. My top 2 favorite CNAs are Angel and Destry aka Des. Both of them go above and beyond for myself and others. You can tell other residents love them too. Some even seem as if they consider the 2 to be family now. I have 2 injured ankles and feet and in 1 day of physical therapy (after being granted to bare weight by my doctor) my therapist assisted me to stand, learn to transfer in and out of my wheel chair by baring weight, learn to transfer in and out of the bed by baring weight, and into the restroom and onto the toilet by baring weight. All things I would need to know how to do at home on my own, which was very helpful. I feel very confident in my ability to go home and apply everything I've learned.

My uncle was sent here after breaking his hip and having surgery. Most of the people are nice. The problem there is no communication what so ever. I tried for over a week to find out what the release plan for him was and Noone there could tell me. One person said it was up to the Dr. The Dr. said it was up to the Therapist. It was a disaster. They had him on a a diet that was put in a blender first and was suppose to change it to a regular diet but that didn't happen for over a week. The put diapers on the resident's and encourage them to go pee and poop in them because they are to lazy to assist them to the restroom. I am unhappy with the care. When it's lunch or dinner time they put them in a wheelchair and take them to the dinning room at least 30 minutes before the food ever shows up. Then afterwards they take them and leave them in the hall for another 30 minutes. This is un acceptable. The call light is of no use cuz if you push it they might show up but it's only when they feel like it. I would hate to think what would happen if a resident needed immediate assistance.

This is my second review, the first was more of the facility. I wanted to give a shout out to two incredible compassionate and passionate Nurses whom with out I would have gone home not completely healed, Nurse Beth and Nurse Becky. Both of them went above and beyond the others in looking for solutions to my specific issues. Becky helped resolved a crucial issue with my foot that the Doctors and Nurses had pointed out, but said they would get back to me. Becky took initiative to take care of my foot and it was a miracle, that within a week of her care the issue with my foot was healing. this is after being in the facility 5 weeks, if it weren't for Becky, I would have gone home with the issue unresolved. The wound care specialist took the time on my multiple wounds from Surgery to heal. She has a passion for wound care, I would call her and Artist. I am extremely grateful to these these two and a shout out to Rob, Chris, Shawna, and the others I cant name right now that helped m leave healed.

I have been in the facility for 7 weeks and while the Nurses and CNA's are generally nice, the majority are slow and you get passed off to the next shift. They didn't always have my medicine / IV on time or would miss my Juven for several days and would blame it on the Pharmacy every time. I had a strict diabetic order with double protein, but every day they brought me "regular" food and would say, if you know you shouldn't eat it, don't. I gained over 10 pounds. It's an old, outdated facility, although they are going through a long make over. It really depends on the level of help you need. I did see some very compassionate people with the patients, although the service was slow and not high quality.

If I could give this place a ZERO, I would. What kind of Rehabilitation Hospital makes the patient pay for a bed rail to stay safe and prevent falling out of the bed 7 days post-open heart surgery? Let alone make you provide your own personal walker to get physical therapy that you are paying for. This is the medical system that is now in Yuma, AZ. While receiving a breathing treatment, no one was around to monitor it or provide assistance in getting it off my head, as I am currently unable to raise my arms high enough to take it off. Where is the actual compassion or care in the medical community, let alone in this facility? Patient BEWARE!

My mother arrived at Haven of Yuma for after care/rehabilitation for the back surgery she underwent; having 2 incisions one in the right middle section of her abdomen and the other in her lower back spine; she has been experiencing a lot of pain. And After seeing how poorly and inconsiderate/unconcerned treatments the 2 nurses she original had and their aids of my mother situation (as they are to see the discharge papers and notes from the hospital and the surgeon) pain and delicate state; I had to request and be directed to speak to the admissions department because calling the social services number was not being answered. Admissions came to my mother’s room to see what we needed to see her for, she introduced herself as Heather McDermott - thank you Heather for taking the time from your busy schedule and speak to us and listen to our concerns. Heather McDermott is not only the marketing and relations director but she gets things done and squared away. My siblings and I are very happy that my mother has been experiencing better care from the new nurses assigned to her and their assistants and that Heather takes time also to come in the room to see and ask how my mother is doing as she did today Monday Nov 18th 2024. The nurses Chris and another older nurse (I forgot her name) that is just as pleasant have been great with my mothers care and explain about the pain medications and concerns we have. No more nurses making the comment why are you here; why aren’t you at your home instead.

From Admin Staff to LPNs, CNAs and tech they R there for a paycheck only, disheartened, no compassion or empathy for those residents elders and/or temporary ill people that pass through them if they don't die before. I've seen death, people screaming on pain, asking for help every day & night, with the excuse short of staff or being in their cellphones or just chit-chatting among themselves. Food sucks, the kitchen servers or cook charge the insurances for food they don't put on the tray, and they keep the food paid by the patients for themselves. The Manager is a caring person but when the cat is out the mouses do whatever they want. There is a Director that I will reach out after my loved one is discharge because already have been retaliation while we were there because we make their personnel to work for others, because I decided to take care myself of my loved one while I could be there after work hours. The sales Person will sell you the moon to get you in, but are lies. Offered private room, 2 nights later we were kick out, with excuses, then in the double bedroom, they forced us to sleep with a neighbor (A Con), we had to complain to continue having our privacy. Every time we got a doctors appointment they went into our room, 1 time they took the chair recliner where I supposed to sleep so I can take care of the nights of my loved one, I claimed the chair in returned I got a pooped broken chair. 2nd time came back from doctor's appointment is when were moved from rooms, 3rd time we came back another doctor's appointment, they took the bed of my loved one, we claimed for a bed, they brought a tiny one and narrow for a man of 6.1 feet. The LPN responses when claiming why he wasn't receiving the Dietician Orders due to his delicate situation, answers were: "We are Not in the Holiday in" apparently they have never been in better hotels Ha!, All this while battling with the horrific service, patients waiting over hours wet in pee and pooped, just walk through the corridors, and the smell will tell you all. I can continue listing all the problems, Admins arriving late and leaving early from work. No one answering phones calls, and very inefficient due diligence paper work, harming the finances of the patients. If you see 5 Stars is NOT FOR THE YUMA FACILITY, probably for the HAVEN HEALTH CORP around other states. DO NOT TAKE your love one there, search and dig better that we did.

I came here for recovery after kidney failure which was resolved in the hospital. While I was a bit out of it the first day or two I was quickly feeling completely normal. I was ready to leave much sooner than scheduled. The staff that worked with me were consistently professional and caring in every way. The only issue I had was the roommates I had to endure. My current one is by far the best one I’ve had. One of the others played the tv loudly 24 hours every day we shared a room. Another one constantly loudly demanded services from your staff. My current one is by far the best I’ve had though he also plays the tv all day long. I’d I were to make any recommendation it would be to provide headphones for watching tv. It is a constant irritant. The speakers should be disconnected where each occupant can watch what they want on each tv. It is impossible with the current setup. One other thing that should be mentioned is almost every meal I ate was cold or barely warm when served.

I have been here for 3 months and everyone has been wonderful. All staff have been very kind to me, they make me feel very welcomed. When I first got here I didn't have the best experience, but it was because of my attitude. I got here in a wheelchair from the hospital. Now I am walking, all the nurses stop by physical therapy and tell me how proud they are to see me improving. It makes me really happy and fills my heart with warmth. I can't wait to get back home. Thank you haven for all the help.
