Having to make the decision to place a loved one in a memory care facility is a very difficult one. I checked out many in Tucson and found Copper Canyon to be the best for my husband. From the moment you walk into the office you are greeted by a receptionist with a big smile. That would be Jean or Diana. Always kind and caring. The staff knew my husband’s name almost immediately and treated him with respect and concern at all times. The facility is clean and bright both inside and outside. The care is wonderful. My husband loved Stefanie and Brenda as well as many others. Everyone always tried to help keep him involved in activities to help with his cognitive issues. Even though I lived 45 minutes away, it was worth it to me to have him in this great place. He loved the food as well. Please check out Copper Canyon, you won’t be disappointed!

My husband was a resident at Copper Canyon Memory Care for 13 months before he passed away in January 2024. His room was always clean and his laundry was well done. Every employee was kind, professional, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. They all seemed to care about each resident. I'm so grateful for the care my husband received! The life enrichment employees worked hard in finding activities for the group. I saw kindness from each one. I would tell someone searching for a facility to visit Copper Canyon. They won't be disappointed!

I come to copper canyon every week to see a few patients as a hospice aide and i just wanted to point out a couple of amazing dedicated devoted staff julie,Amanda,Rena, and lori these girls rock they help me every time ask if i need anything and you can truly see the compassion and care they have for there patients. Copper Canyon puts the needs of the resident at the forefront while also ensuring that the health of the resident is maintained. While other facilities claim that their facilities address these two items, the practice at Copper Canyon is more than just statements. Their actions and practices demonstrate the accuracy of the claims. All staff is trained on how to help the resident get the help that is needed. I cannot recommend Copper Canyon highly enough; if you are seeking a residence that truly cares about their residents, Copper Canyon must be considered.

Copper Canyon is not just a lovely place. The personnel were very responsive and helpful in giving tours and getting information they needed for an assessment. If you have a loved one with dementia, consider putting them on your list of potential residences. They will do what you need with speed and caring. I really appreciate how Copper Canyon staff cares for their residents and shows such love and respect towards them. Its a hard thing to watch a loved one get dementia and the staff really seems to understand how best to care for them.

Ive worked at Copper Canyon for 5 years. It is one of the best assisted living and memory care facilities I have had the pleasure of working for. It is a beautiful community. Management, staff, and residents are great. I will continue to commute an hour each way to work for Copper Canyon.

Copper Canyon provides 24 hour security, which is a must for my wife. The medical staff is on the ball, housekeeping is great and the food is good enough that I frequently eat there. They have lots of activities as well as indoor walking and an outdoor atrium. They care for my wife much better than I can.

Review – Copper Canyon Memory Care, Tucson, AZ My recently deceased wife was a resident of Copper Canyon Memory Care in Tucson, AZ for the past six months. She suffered from dementia and required 24 hour supervision and care. I selected Copper Canyon over some closer facilities because of its small size and unusually stable management of Terri Waldman. My experience with Copper Canyon exceeded all my expectations. Everyone was kind, attentive, positive, friendly to both residents and families and helpful with both. From Ms. Waldman down, the care-givers, Charge nurses, food service personnel and maintenance man-driver were all obviously carefully selected by Ms. Waldman and treated both my wife and me with kindness and respect. She loved the food, was always encouraged to participate in activities and musical presentation and never once asked to be brought back home, only for me to come and live there. After any event – fall, cuts, etc. – the RN immediately notified me and described first aid and other procedures carried out. Our primary care physician was consulted as needed, again with the highest level of cooperation. When my wife began to receive hospice care, Ms. Waldman voluntarily moved her into a beautiful corner private room with two sunny windows. The usual cost of a private room was waived. Care was frequent and attentive and as needed pain medication was carefully monitored by the RN, prompt and appropriate. After my wife passed, the Activities Director came to the room and sang the Hawaiian setting of Over the Rainbow. Inter-actions between hospice and Copper Canyon personnel was quiet, efficient and professional while I received counseling and attention from the hospice chaplain. This was all extremely comforting to a grieving husband. I highly recommend Copper Canyon Memory Care to families in need. Donald J. Behnke

Copper Canyon has been a great, safe place for my husband! The Administrative staff are excellent, clearly have very pertinent knowledge about Alzheimers, Dementia and provide pertinent education for all staff. I can honestly say staff members have been incredibly kind, have amazing patience and have taken extraordinary care of my husband. I am there twice a day (pop in at all hours) and have personally seen how well the nurses and caregivers care for all the residents.

Terri Waldman, Executive Director, took care of my dad during his late stages of Alzheimers. I was impressed with the care he received even while he was difficult at times. Terri still remembers me and my dad when I see her around and is always very friendly. I would absolutely recommend Copper Canyon.

I placed my husband at Copper Canyon in mid-2018. Overall, I have been pleased with the care he receives. While no facility is perfect, I do believe that when I express a concern about an aspect of his care, my concerns are heard and we work on potential solutions together. I have been very impressed with Terri Waldman, the director, and her advocacy for people with memory disorders. Most of the staff seem to truly care about the residents and do their best to provide excellent care. Of course, the turnover of staff is concerning, but not surprising, considering the nature of the work. The food is excellent and home-cooked.
