Before placing my dad in memory care he wasn't eating regularly or taking his meds; a couple of times neighbors heard the smoke alarm going off only to find that dad had put something on the stove and forgot about it, he was in a very unsafe state of mind. From my first visit there it felt peaceful and comfortable. Brookdale was a wonderful place for our dad. Dad loved the staff there, and he could feel their love and care from them. They were always kind and listened to him. the staff were great at keeping me informed if he needed things and if there needed to be a change made to his plan of care. Family activities were encouraged, and the facility would host family dinners where I would get a chance to meet other residents and their families. The families were a great resource and support for me.

My Mom needed memory care after a series of hospitalizations and we were blessed to find Brookdale Tempe! She loved it there, she adored the staff, and the care she got was stellar. It's a beautiful facility and she liked the food. We witnessed their kindness to my Mom many times. When we decided we could not put her through another hospitalization, they helped us arrange Hospice care. As the end of her life approached, we were touched by the staff that came in to see her, hold her hand, and spend time with her! My sisters and I can't say enough good things about our experiences there!

It is a very welcoming atmosphere that is bright and clean, with a very caring and compassionate staff. Brookdale Tempe has been a fantastic placement for our family member. We have had some experience with other places and really just love it here. The staff are attentive, available, and most importantly patient and kind-hearted. We think the food is well prepared and varied. The activities team (Andy, Tim and Alica (hope I spelled that right)) is second to none!..with a great calendar of programming that is creative and engaging. We laugh about planning visits when we see an event that WE want to participate in! They offer support programs for families to help deal with the aging of their loved one. Management is readily available and always willing to listen to concerns and special requests...We particularly appreciate the Executive Director Gary and the Health&Wellness director Abby proactively seeking out input from family whenever we stop by...and we visit several times a week without notice so I believe we are seeing a true representation of the care provided. My Mom has been connected to, and is seen onsite, by her primary care doctor, a podiatrist, and dermatologist. She takes advantage of mobile dental and eyecare that come to her. She is able to have a beauty parlor appointment on a regular basis in their onsite salon. To us, this is a safe and secure placement with a caring and compassionate staff to whom we are happy to give a superior rating.

My uncle has been a resident for over 3 years and the caregivers and managers are extraordinary in their care of him as well as the other residents. All residents are known by their name. Due to the limited number of residents - there is very personal care of all. I know he is safe and well cared for at all times.

Brookdale of Tempe is a lovely retirement home. I used to be an active volunteer at Brookdale, and while I was there, I saw an unmatched level of the compassionate care given to their residents. All of the employees are very welcoming and caring at Brookdale, unlike some other retirement homes. The people at Brookdale are always welcoming to visitors and often host entertaining events for the whole family to enjoy. If you want a caring and loving home for your parent or loved one suffering from Alzheimers or Dementia, this is the perfect place.

I toured 9 facilities in researching the very difficult decision of where my mother should live. She is in the moderate-severe stages of Alzheimers and unable to consider her options. We were truly blessed with an open room at our top selection: Brookdale Tempe. Not only is this facility unique in its design, set-up and personal identification-touches... but the staff are exquisite, respectful, understanding, well-trained, experienced and a close knit family. Ive experienced a wide range of emotions during this transition, but it warms my heart and puts me at ease to see my mom light up when she interacts with the caregivers and staff. I know that everyone is working toward the same goal of increased quality of life for as long as possible for each resident along their own journey. I find that there is always a friendly voice answering every call, my emails-questions are responded to quickly and the culture at Brookdale Tempe is to say yes! to any request if it can work in any way. I cannot convey my-my familys-my mothers friends gratitude for the safety, patience, care, activities, stimulation, nutrition and love that my mom is experiencing and the continuous updates, pictures and videos we are receiving showing how well she is doing.

My Mom was a Brookdale Tempe resident for the last year of her life and I was so thankful I moved her there. I wish I had done it much sooner. The staff was so caring and friendly and treated my Mom like she was Family instead of just another faceless, nameless, resident. I can say that Adrianna, The Manager, Lorie, the Health and Wellness Director, and the entire staff did everything possible to help my Mom with her severe Dementia problems. They did things like using their own money to purchase things they thought my Mom might eat when she was not choosing to eat the usual great dining room food. One of the staff used to come in on his day off sometimes to make sure my Mom would eat that day because he had a close rapport with Mom and could convince her to eat much easier than other staff. The Brookdale staff not only treated Mom like family, they were always there for support and advice for me when I needed it. I could go on for many more examples of the professionalism and outstanding care provided at Brookdale of Tempe but I would suggest a personal visit to the facility to meet and talk with the staff. The Brookdale staff is so good at providing quality care and are doing a job they love. My Mom has been gone for about 3 years now, but I still stop by to see the wonderful people that were so good to her.

After visiting multiple facilities, Brookdale Tempe stood out from all the others. Their philosophy of minimum medication and highly-trained staff convinced me this was the place I wanted to care for my husband with Alzheimers. He has repeatedly stated that he is happy there. I am there 3 times a week and I can see that the staff themselves are happy there. Staff turnover is low. The facility is clean. My husband loves the food service. The activities are plentiful and appropriate for the varying levels of needs. The administrator is definitely the key to the quality of care given. She frequently gets involved with the care of the residents directly and her bubbly personality is infectious. The nursing staff stays on top of my husbands needs and can even tell by his eyes if he is well or not. I volunteer most Saturdays because I can see the joy in the residents smiles for all the positive attention that they are given, which makes me happy too. Brookdale Tempe doesnt forget the families either. Once a month families are invited to join their loved ones for dinner. I cant say enough positive about this facility and the staff.

Three years ago, my mother went into Brookdale Tempe. At the time, it was thought that she had about one month to live. She is happy and so well taken care of. The staff is attentive, caring, and works very well with the family. The facility is architecturally appealing as it looks like a little town in the lobby. It has three garden patios. Everything is well kept up and clean. I am so grateful for the staff at Brookdale Tempe.
