I wish I could less than zero stars! If you love your loved one, whatever you do is completely up to you, but do not take your loved one there unless you want that person to die! first and foremost, my father was abducted via trickery from another state and taken to Arizona. I made the administrator and only licensed nurse at the location aware of this, including the following. My father was given medication that did not belong to him, he was given morphine because he wouldn’t go to “sleep” when they told him to because he was either watching a movie or a football/baseball game and wasn’t tired at 7 PM. I’ve been to visit my father, prior to his death at that facility, at approximately 10 PM and I could not find a staff member anywhere! The first staff member that I encountered was the following morning, because I spent the night at the facility! My father entered the facility, standing 6‘5“ tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds. They starved him so much so that I was having meals delivered to him and come to find out those meals were not making it to him. He died weighing 122 pounds. The facility administrator permitted non-relatives that produced a forged POA to have control over my father. My father passed away one day prior to going to court to having it all reversed. Please, don’t take your loved one to this facility!

My Mom and my Aunt both live at Chaparral Winds and are very happy. The staff is always very considerate of their needs. Stephanie is amazing and does a wonderful job to ensure that all our concerns and questions are answered. My Mom and my Aunt play bingo twice a week, watch movies with other residents and have made many friends. Great place to live! Thank you to Chaparral Winds!! This is an update to my previous post 5 years ago. Since I posted the previous review, my Mom has passed away. She was moved over to Assisted Living at Chaparral Winds 4 months prior to her passing. Everyone was so nice and helpful at that time. Now, fast forward 3 years and my Aunt is now in Assisted Living. She fell and was put into rehab for 6 weeks. During that time, I was able to get her a room in Assisted Living. Kayla was such a blessing during the entire process. She not only helped me with all the information, but personally gave me loving support. The entire staff at Chaparral Assisted Living has been wonderful and the whole process went very smooth. My Aunt is loving her new apartment, playing bingo almost every day and she loves going next door to Independent Living to visit with her friends. I highly recommend Chaparral Winds to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones.

We did not end up choosing Chaparral, but really liked it. It was spotlessly clean and fully staffed (staff seemed to be everywhere). The rooms we were shown were ample, fresh and new looking (as if they'd just been painted), and sunny. Their in-house PT rooms and dining rooms, etc., also look clean, neatly organized, and just about perfect, really. Our tour host was Pasca, the marketing director, who was genuinely warm and funny and made us all feel at home immediately. I particularly noticed the change in my 94-year old father's demeanor. He went from being anxious and a bit grumpy to joking and laughing. He really liked Chaparral and we would have moved him there but he's instead moving out of state to live close to family.

On behalf of the Olachea family, we would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to the staff at Chaparral Winds assisted living. We would like to particularly give thanks to Kayla, the marketing consultant, who at the very first moment we made contact over the phone was so gracious, communicative, informative, and interactive. She was a total customer service oriented young lady. She was a professional and went out of her way to make my family and particular my dad who is now a tenant at the facility, feel at ease in allowing us to tour the facility, eat lunch in the dining facility, and to spend as much time as we needed in asking questions and coordinating to get our father moved into the facility. I know Kayla was busy, coordinating a conference and performing her daily activities and performing , her daily tasks. She always took time to sit down and converse with us and to answer our questions. My dad was impressed by her at the very beginning and so were we. Nurse Wendy and the medical staff were great as well. In addition, I would like to make a shout out and a hearty thanks to Grace the medical assistant/helper who immediately calmed my dad down in his first transitionary day in the facility. She was so friendly, helpful, and intuitive in establishing a great rapport on the first day with my dad. If all staff personnel is as good as Kayla and Grace, my dad's stay at Chaparral Winds will be an outstanding experience. Thank you so much, The Olachea Family

I really have mixed feelings right now about this place. When my mom moved into the memory care 4 months ago the director and head nurse was really nice and helped me get my mom settled. Since then the director has changed and doesn't seem to say much and the head nurse acts like everything is no big deal. The resident across the hall from my mom ended up with COVID and I was never notified. When I confronted the head nurse she said it was "no big deal unless more residents got it". I don't know their names but there are (2) nurses in the memory care that are really nice and seem to care about the residents but I haven't seen that in the others. So I guess this place has it's good and bad. I have asked to have the toilet in my mom's room fixed as it runs a lot and that still hasn't happened either. Not sure what I'm going to do as of right now.

My sweet grandmother spent her last year of life in the Chaparral Winds Memory Care Unit. There's so many things I want to say about this facility. I'll start off with my experience of her passing. I could have held a celebration of life ceremony right there in her room. Every nurse on shift came in to cry over my sweet girl. Experiencing how loved and cared for she was made her passing so much easier. A couple months after my grandmother moved in COVID-19 hit, and I watched as this facility did everything in their power to keep their residents safe. I wasn't allowed to visit but they would bring her by her window so I could wave, and i'll always cherish that. I don't know how they managed to staff such incredible, caring, employees. While my grandmother was there I didn't run into a single issue. Shannon, the nurse, was diligent. She stayed on my grandmother's Dr's countless times. Leigha, a caregiver, became my grandmother's best friend. Leigha went above and beyond what her job title requires from her, countless times. Lisa, the activity coordinator LOVES what she does, and it shows. I can think of no greater experience to have given my grandmother in her final moments. I am forever grateful for the love and compassion that was shown. Thank you Chaparral Winds.

Chapparal Winds has been the best place for our mom. Having Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care in the same complex has been more of a blessing than we thought because she has lived in each one as her health dictated. She recently moved into Memory Care and it has been so good for her. All the staff and caregivers at Chapparal Winds have been so kind to her and treat her with respect. The management and nursing staff are very compassionate and I thank every single person with whom our mom has had contact over the past several years she has lived there. We are truly grateful to all of you.

I have a loved one living here, I was having some issues getting the proper medical attention she required. I'm no expert however, I spoke to Danielle, I believe the director of nursing, and explained my concerns to her. She was very patient while spoke and addressed all my questions one at a time in an incredibly professional and caring manner! Which left me feeling 100% better about my friends medical needs. I wish more nurses were as understanding and willing to engage with family members/friends of the residents the way she did. Thank you Danielle!

Wish we moved Mom in here years earlier! She is taken care of so well. She enjoys all the activities and food. We looked at the idea of moving her for over a year. We toured several communities and just felt that Chaparral winds was the place for mom. The staff is amazing to work with. They keep me updated and informed on issues before they become problems. The management and nursing staff our on top of things. I do have to say it wasn't the newest community but it is beautifully maintained and so clean. No Smell. Housekeeping staff is on top of everything. Her clothes are laundered by the in house staff and they were so accommodating with using her laundry products that she prefers. She couldn't be happier and I get to sleep easy.

I researched Assisted Living options thoroughly before we decided on Chaparral Winds Assisted Living. It's turned out to be an outstanding choice! The value, quality of care, convenience of the location, attractive apartments & attentive staff here just can't be beat. I like the fact that there are regular checks by caregivers 24-7. 2 nurses are available during the day. They are knowledgeable about Medicare options. They can arrange for a Medicare primary care dr. to visit & do regular check-ups. Or they can provide transportation to medical appointments. The food is served restaurant style in a lovely dining room. Residents' laundry is done & their apts. cleaned once a week. There are activities and outings and a hair salon/barbershop on site & a manicurist who visits. If residents wish privacy and prefer not to participate in activities, the staff respects that. Residents have access to Independent Living facilities which includes a small pool and gymn. There is an adjoining Memory Care facility, which is an excellent resource. Staff are familiar with dementia issues that might arise with their Asst. Living residents. Residents are well cared for and visiting family members are welcomed warmly. The apts. are well-appointed, with kitchenette, handicap accessible bathroom, cozy bedroom & comfortable living room. The staff does everything possible to take the stress off of family members. You don't need to worry when your loved one is at Chaparral Winds. They will do the day to day care so that the time you spend with your elder is meaningful and stress free. I think the best tribute the the excellence of care at Chaparral Winds Asst. Living is the fact that the average age of residents is generally higher than most places. Seniors thrive here. They are so well cared for that they live long and healthy lives. You'll meet interesting & active residents in their eighties and nineties and even 100+ who are living proof of the excellent care your loved one will receive at Chaparral Winds Asst. Living! Take a tour! Come see the available apts., meet the nursing staff, check out the activities & see the attractive dining room where meals are served. You'll see - your loved one will be in good hands!

Chaparral Winds has been nothing short of amazing. I have had 2 sets of grandparents in their facility. Including both memory care and assisted living. The care they received while there was excellent. The executive director was actually very attentive, caring and kind. Along with the rest of the staff. I know they truly care about their residents. Recently, my grandfather passed away. During the last few days of his life we held vigil by his bedside. We were also treated with respect and kindness. Every single staff member would offer us whatever we needed to ensure that we were all taken care of. I would recommend this care facility to anyone in need of loving care of a family member.

To properly write a review it is necessary to search the reasons w2hy one selects a home that will sustai8n your life and in my case my wife's. I did my home work and interviewed persons whose judgement I trusted. $Each had the sane message chose wisely don't rush and ask lot of questions. I did as I was told . My conclusion was Chaparral Winds. The facility was centrally located with transportation available. I have been very satisfied but that does not cover the reasons for my writing this missal. Foremost is the management and staff are readily available and show concern to any and all problems that one needs answered. I have found that this attitude prevails through out all the employees who serve one daily. A real personal note. I have come to love this assisted living as I would my home.
