Care givers and med tech all have a bad attitude about assisting me with a resident transfer to shower. Caregiver stated all the other caregivers from your company do it without asking for our assistance . Very Disrespectful and rude! Took one hour to answer the call button . 5 of staffers all came into the residents room to harass me. My first time there and my last time there. Very concerned how they treat their residents as well.since they treat me this way. I give 1 star for the dinning aids

My parents just moved out of this facility this month, October 2020, there were so many issues I will try and be as brief as possible. The main issue with this facility is there is no follow through on anything from billing, maintenance, care, housekeeping, etc. I being my parents POA tried to have several conversations plus at least three meetings during their stay there from October 2019 to this October 2020 and all seemed to be understood what needs were to be met then nothing would happen. My mother was supposed to be cared for daily with a shower and dressing and for some reason I would find out they weren't showing up to do this or they attempted to but my mom stated she already had been bathed but she had not, etc. She was supposed to be given meds daily but was coughing a lot and blowing her nose, she had meds for these problems, so again was she not getting what she needed? I noticed that when I went there certain things didn't work, a week after a request was put in then there would be other things would need to be repaired. When the maintenance man would go into their apt to fix stuff they would not do all the repairs just maybe one of the requests so there was always items not ever being taken care of. The dust in their apt was terrible and with my mom coughing all the time I thought maybe the A/C filter might need changing and that was why this was such an issue. I finally found the filter and it had caked on dust all over it, disgusting! I decided to change it myself knowing that that might not get addressed too. I called in to have their ceiling fans cleaned because they were all caked up with dust too and the response I got was the maintenance man stating that housekeeping should be doing this. My mothers shower leaked really bad into the bathroom area, it is a handicapped accessible one so no lip just a drain sloped downwards. With a shower curtain to the floor it still flooded everywhere, a real mess, we had to have a towel draped across the floor to sop up all the water. I attempted to try and get them to put a silicone damn to keep the water inside the shower area but for some reason they never got around to it. Billing was another huge problem, because my mothers care wasn't being done like it should my brother and I took over my mother's daily care. The director allowed for us to come inside to do this daily, we came through a back patio not to disturb any of the residents and funny thing my moms skin , cough, runny nose issues all went away within 2 days of us caring for her, it proved she was not getting her meds properly and for sure daily showers with her moisturizing body wash. Because we were doing this the billing was supposed to reflect that but the care charges still kept showing up on the bills. For 5 months they could not fix the billing and so my parents were getting charged for items they were not using and it went on and on, finally it got all fixed but again with my phone calls over and over again. I was so overwhelmed by all the work and phone calls and having no life of my own I finally got my dad to agree to move elsewhere, they really loved that apartment but nothing other than that was good there anymore and I wanted to be sure my mother was taken care of properly so finally they have moved into a much better place for them and our family. On moving day after a regional director had heard all my complaints a lot of the workers showed up on that day to be sure we had what we needed, etc. It was obvious they had a meeting with that director I talked with and the maintenance man even had to add his little bit because I called to see if he had some tools and he showed up pretty quickly he said "See I show up and help when needed".

I have read some of the more recent comments and I must say there is a bit of disparity in the reviews. That being said, all I know is that I have never found people working in memory care who are more compassionate, more patient and kind. My mother arrived in crisis nearly three years ago and we delivered her into the loving hands of Lisa Rice. She is the memory care program manager in the Clare Bridge Memory Unit of Brookdale North Scottsdale. Not only did my mother recover, she has continued to thrive there and is currently happy and content. That is not to say it has been easy for anyone this past year! With lockdowns and quarantines, on and off, and the rapidly changing landscape of regulation compliance, the negative effects of the isolation factor looms large for memory care residents. I am eternally grateful to Lisa Rice and all the Clare Bridge staff for keeping all the residents in their care COVID-19 free for the past year. With my deepest and sincere gratitude I congratulate you! The challenges you face coming to work every day under extremely restrictive circumstances, due to the worldwide pandemic; the sacrifices to their personal comfort at work, without complaint, while continuing to provide first class care at the same time?! This is an immense blessing and true gift. There was another review that was left here by another family member and it said these people bend over backwards to do everything they can to accommodate everyone involved. Nicole Southey runs a professional, first class establishment there at 64th and Greenway in North Scottsdale. I am grateful to her for building such a dedicated team and I give you five stars because you deserve nothing less!!!

My sister who is sight impaired moved to Brookdale early in November. We as a family could not be more pleased with the kindness and the caring by the Brookdale associates in spite of the limitations posed by the Pandemic. EVERYONE has been very helpful assisting us in getting my sister comfortable in her new surroundings. Nicole Southey (Executive Director) has helped beyond whatever we could have anticipated. We are extremely grateful to her as we are to the nursing staff, Tessa ((Health & Wellness Coordinator) and MK (Wellness Nurse). They have helped to relieve our responsibilities and concerns, and worked with us in ways words cant even express. I would recommend Brookdale to anyone I know. It is a lovely, comfortable and caring place. The best!

A wonderful place. My brothers wife became ill in about 8, 2018. It was obvious that he could not be alone. Started looking for a place soon thereafter with the help of a Senior Housing Placement person. When we walked in, I felt comfortable and thought this could be a good place for him. By the time we left, I was sure of it and he felt the same way. Will, and Alex, and Nicole were extremely cooperative and went out of their way over the many months to work with my brother to make the move happen. My brother moved into Brookdale North Scottsdale about a month ago (8, 5, 19). He was happy the day he moved in and continues to be so. A wonderful added bonus is that the residents are welcoming and friendly. It is a safe caring place for my brother. I live in Maryland and feel very comfortable with his well-being knowing that he is a resident at Brookdale. My brother participates in many of the activities and enjoys them. I find the staff to be friendly and willing to help. The management staff continues to check to be sure that things are going well for him. The physical building is light, bright and seems to be well cared for. I am very happy that my brother is happy there!!!

Before placing our uncle in the facility, we vetted many assisted living centers and found Brookdale to offer the best value and care level. Nicole has an open door, treats everyone warmly and with great courtesy. I highly recommend meeting her and viewing the facility when considering assisted care.

My mother lived at this community recently for quite a few years. She was never treated with anything but respect and dignity by all staff. I would visit weekends and mostly after hours due to my work schedule. My mom is very sharp but needed some physical help. The staff were always patient and loving. Some even called her GRANDMA which she loved because she never had grandchildren. The front desk girls Abby and sam I believe, were always gems. Veronica always took care of any questions about billing very efficiently. A couple of laundry issues, but honestly Im surprised with so many people living there there werent more! The nurses always so responsive and called me for any issues. The director, Nicole, was just amazing. Always available to help with ANYTHING we needed! Many times I saw her after hours taking residents down the hall in their wheelchairs, laughing with them on the couch and even cleaning the bird cage! My mom called this HOME and everyone here was her family!

Mom has been at Brookdale North Scottdale for almost a year now. This is the most amazing place run by an amazing, competent staff. Everyone from the Executive Director to each and every person on the staff knows the residents and family by name. They are loving and caring and totally on top of any issues that a resident may be going through. Mom is in the Memory Care Unit and when I walk in it feels like a big warm house. The staff there feels like extended family. The activities are meant to engage the residents in their differing stages of dementia and done in a way to make their moments meaningful and as close to normal life as possible. Communication between the families and staff are a top priority. I always feel like Im in the loop. They are so on top of any issues that Mom may be going through. They were so quick to jump on a medical issue that they saw that Mom was spared a very serious, painful condition. I really cant thank everyone there enough for all they are doing to bring loving, caring and happy moments to Moms life and the peace of mind I get knowing she is being so well taken care of.

We are delighted & grateful for the care that Brookdale North Scottsdale has provided our mother. All of the staff, including the dining room staff, are engaged & communicative with us, regarding Moms needs. We stop by at random times & catch them providing wonderful care. I perceive the scathing comments & accusations here are from dining room employees, who dont see the other aspects of excellent care provided to the residents.The sexual harassment accusations seem to be focused in the dining room; this is serious & if corroborated, that person should be gone, so that dining staff can continue to provide the great service our family has seen in the dining room.

My 91 year old mother, who has Alzheimers, has been a resident at Brookdale Senior Living - Scottsdale for several years. During her residency, I have been blessed with individuals who have consistently shown love and concern for her well-being every single day. Specifically, the Director for Brookdale Scottsdale, Nicole Southey, has been an angel sent from heaven above. She has gone above and beyond to ensure that my familys requests and needs have been met. She has taken on the burden of working through difficult situations to ease my burden. When we mother fell and broke her hip, Nicole sent flowers and beautiful notes an checked up on my mom regularly. Through Nicoles constant love and support, she has given our family a sense of calm just knowing that our mother is being cared for in the very best possible way. Additionally, one of my mothers caretakers, Elizabeth, has also shown love and support not only to my mother, but to my family as well. Whenever I visit my mother, I am always greeted with a hug by Elizabeth and asked how my family members are doing. If you have a family member who is in need of an Assisted Living facility, or a memory care facility, you need look no further. Brookdale Senior Living is at the top of the list . You will never find a better facility with such an incredible staff. Mere words will never be able to express my sincere gratitude to Nicole, Beronica, Elizabeth, Carol and the staff at Brookdale Scottsdale!

My grandmother has been a resident at Brookdale Scottsdale for several years now. The whole family worried at first when she was placed into a senior living facility. The staff at Brookdale took so much of the worry away. From day one, Nicole Southey (Brookdale Scottsdale Director) and her staff have treated my grandma as their own family. As soon as you walk in, the environment is a warm and loving one. The care that they give each resident is amazing. I have been in other facilities before and none of them could ever come close to giving the care that the residents receive at Brookdale Scottsdale. If there has ever been an issue, Nicole makes it a priority to see that it is handled and taken care of promptly. I could go on and on about how wonderful Nicole and her staff are. If you are looking for an assisted living facility for a loved one, there is no need to look any further. This place is amazing! The care and attention that your loved one will receive from Brookdale cannot be surpassed! Thank you Nicole and staff for all the love you have given my Grandma. We cannot thank you enough for the peace of mind you have given our family!

My brothers and I are thankful everyday that we found this wonderful home for our mother many years ago. Her dementia has progressed and she can be difficult to deal with but the staff at Brookdale North Scottsdale are always so good with her. BSN is truly a wonderful facility for those that need assistnce in their daily life! My mother, Joan Hull, lived at Brookdale North Scottsdale for six years. For 5 of those years she lived in a one bedroom unit in the Assisted Care area and she resided in the Memory Care unit, Clarebridge a little over another year.I cannot tell you how much she enjoyed her living experience in Assisted Care. The Management and Staff were always on top of things and gave my Mom the care, consideration and respect each day that I would have expected. The staff treated her like a member of the family and she was very happy living their. One of her main concerns was her safety and she always told me that she felt so safe there. Due to her advanced dementia she had to move into Clarebridge and once again, she was provided with exceptional care. I had a wonderful working relationship with both Management and Staff and nothing was ever overlooked. I know that families have to make difficult decisions on behalf of their family members, but if you are considering a new living arrangement for one of them, please take time and visit Brookdale North Scottsdale at 64th St and Greenway. Having her cared for so expertly, allowed me to continue on with my busy life. I usually visited her 2 - 3 times a week and never once was I disappointed in her long term care.I lost my mother last February at the age of 94 and cant thank Brookdale enough for making her final days so comfortable.

Brookdale North Scottsdale is wonderful! After visiting over 8 other facilities besides Brookdale North Scottsdale, BNS became the winner. In February of 2016 my 57 year old brother, who has early onset FTDementia moved into BNS Assisted Living and loved it there. The caregivers, upper management, med techs, housekeeping, etc., etc,. Have become part of our family. He is now in Clarebridge, the memory care part of BNS. The care he receives from everyone there is amazing. They look after him and take such good care of him. Everyone, also has helped me when faced with a few challenges with my Brothers illness.We Brookdale North Scottsdale!
