In my lifetime I have never been so stressed than when I was contemplating a new home for my aging Mother. I was fortunate with help to find this beautiful facility. After many sleepless nights for both myself and my mother she is in day 4 of her new adventure and she is living her best life. She is making new friends, eating better than ever and so busy she doesn’t have time to see me! Instead of her caregiver I am her daughter again. ALL the staff are so kind and friendly. I can’t say enough good things about Venessa and Christy! They take such wonderful care of my grandmother and always treat her with so much kindness and respect. Having recently moved our mother to Morning Star at Golden Ridge, we have found the people helpful, friendly, and genuinely caring. On the day that my mom moved in, she was met by another resident that welcomed her to the cruise ship that never goes out to sea. From the concierges at the desk to the sales representative, the life enrichment coach to the housecleaning staff, they call my mom by name and usually know the family’s names. They take time to listen and to work to make those who visit welcome.

My experience at Morning Star is exceptional. I feel and broke my knee cap on my right side and fractured my left shoulder. Their care givers treated me with fantastic service. With I-3 months I am able to walk with a cane and use my left arm . I wouldn’t have been able to make fast progress with out the staffs help. They also helped move me from an independent cacita to assisted living apartment while I was in rehab.

I had a wonderful experience with Morningstar in Peoria, and it started with the concier walking into the facility. You are greeted immediately with a nice smile and a person that seems to really want to help to get you where you need to go. With first impressions being so important, this definitely set the stage for one of the top facilities I visited for my mother's care. The facilities itself seemed very clean, with great eye appeal and in impeccable condition. Another aspect that I like, is that it appeared as though there were employees moving all over, it didnt seem to be stagnant in any way. There was always someone asking you if they could help and lots of activity. I got to meet an amazing individual named Angie, who was the marketing director and she was phenomenal. Angie seemed to be very straightforward and honest and answered all my questions with a smile and with passion. She seemed to genuinely care about my mother's care, and that I was getting in the right facility for her. She did not use pushy tactics and was asking more questions about my mother than she was about getting her into the facility. I was allowed to tour the facility where I met the Life Enrichment Director Jaime. Wow, was she the nicest person I have ever met, she stopped what she was doing to show me her calendar and explain to me how she plans activities for her seniors of all different abilities. Jaime then took me to an activity in progress and allowed me to be proactive and it was honestly amazing to feel so welcomed and see first hand all time and effort this facility puts into keeping their seniors active and smiling. Jaime's vibrant attitude really helped sell me in closing the deal, knowing my mother would have so much positivity daily. Everyone was open about having a new Executive Director coming in, and that even more amazing changes were coming this year to better all aspects of my moms care. I was sold and feel this will be the best decision fo my mom and our family moving forward.. Thanks

Ten Stars!!! Super in every way. Can’t say enough positives about the entire staff > to those working the reception desk, kitchen staff, activities director, wellness director, and CNAs to name a few < all were excellent. Since the CNAs took care of Mom daily, they deserve a special shout out, but all the employees were terrific. Our Mom, at age 99, was still living independently in her own home. When it became apparent that she would need some assistance to attend to her daily needs, the search began for the “right” place. We found the “right” place in Morningstar at Golden Ridge. The entire staff made the transition from independent living to assisted living as easy as possible for Mom. In addition to our personal observations, Mom often spoke highly of everyone at Golden Ridge. They truly are loving and caring to the residents. We had the occasion to celebrate Mom’s 100th birthday on the veranda, at no additional cost. Fortunately, it was in March, and the weather was perfect. The staff did their part in making that day special. Mom even said the food was ok and for Mom that’s high praise as she was the fussiest of eaters. She enjoyed soups so would often order the “soup of the day” as part of her lunch. In addition to their regular menu (which was seasonal), they would have a "daily special”. The dining room staff was very attentive to the residents’ requests. Mom liked the fact that they had a salon on sight as she would have her hair done weekly. She also participated in daily (M-F) chair exercises, bingo (2 or 3 times / week), performers, and more. So, there are activities for those who choose to take part. Finally, a word about the residents. They took Mom in from day 1 and immediately made her feel welcome. Those I spoke with were very complimentary towards the facility and staff.

I cannot say enough about this facility! My Grandma Virginia Vasquez may her memory be a blessing was a resident for about a year and a half. The entire staff doted on her, sang & danced with her, hugged her and wiped her tears when needed. They treated her with the utmost kindness, dignity and compassion. They truly understood her illness & ever changing personality. They enjoyed hearing history of who she used to be in years past before they knew her, her travels, seeing old pictures of her as a young girl, wife, Mother and Grandmother when we reminisced on visits. We cannot ever repay MorningStar for the patience and assistance as we traveled this last journey with her. We had so many people we’ve met @ MorningStar checking on US and her the last few weeks of her life as we never left her side. The staff loved her so much in Memory Care and the outpouring of love during our pain as we prepared to let go was appreciated. We are ALL family now and we will never forget this chapter. We love all of you & God Bless you for doing this thankless job.

My Grandmother has been a tenant of this location for about a year and a half now. This place is very beautiful and there is so much on site for the tenants to enjoy. There are a few things that we are not happy with but overall its a nice place. I must say that they have an employee by the name of Melissa that has made my grandmother very uncomfortable. She's not a very friendly person and she doesn't speak, smile, or wave when you see her.. She sees my grandmother on a regular and makes it her job not to speak to her. I have witnessed her speak to everyone outside and not my grandmother. It got so uncomfortable my grandmother wanted to be moved. Once Melissa found out she was looking to moved she called her and told her that she had to submit a 60 day notice to vacate. Her condition is not the best and her doctor recommended she be moved and thats the only reason she was able to move without submitting a 60 day notice. My grandmother is in independent living and during the Pandemic she was treated as if she was in assisted living which also made it hard for her.. we were unable to bring her what she needed. And going to the front is a major inconvenience. My grandmother constantly complained about the meals she was getting.. I dont want to bash the place because its a great place. There are just some things that need work

My mom was sad when I moved her from her home of 40 years to live at MorningStar at Golden Ridge. She had always wanted to stay in her home until the end of her life but diminishing strength and increasing fall risk made that too unsafe for her. She has lived at MorningStar for six months now. I knew the decision to move her to AL and the choice of GoldenStar were the right decision because in the first few days of living there she made friendships among other residents as well as staff. She went from sitting on the couch in her PJ's all day at home to putting on her pretty clothes, make-up, and jewelry as she started each morning in her new home. Mom rarely misses any of the planned activities and enjoys the variety of activities offered. Her appetite has improved because she now has friends to sit and visit with at meals. The staff at MorningStar work hard to provide the best experiences and services for the residents. Staff at all levels in Golden Ridge take time to say hi when they see mom and to ask how she is doing. They also often check in with me to see how I am doing! My experience has been that all staff have a genuine love for working with elderly persons and understand how far a kind word and smile can go to bring happiness to the lives of those they care for. As with all things in life, not everything goes without a glitch here and there. At Golden Ridge those glitches have been few and far between. When problems do arise they are addressed quickly. Management always has the time to talk to residents or their families about concerns. They address the issues they can and if some matter or request can't be honored they will explain why and work for other appropriate solutions. Really, the only "problems" I have seen seem to be due to the difficulty of managing a balance of when to bring on additional staff with anticipated resident growth. My mom is happy. She is well cared for. She is safe. She has new friends to look forward to seeing daily. MorningStar is giving her the quality of life she deserves.

Was able to visit this location when the mayor did the ribbon cutting ceremony. The facility looks top notch. This is to be expected of a new facility but I think in comparison to other communities it’s better aesthetically and much butter to communities in the area. I don’t trust the staff.
