As the son of two of her clients, I will tell you that the best care facility we have experienced was that of the family run assisted living home called Desert Joy Assisted Living. We had three or more assisted living experiences in the Prescott, Arizona. With those facilities you were wine and dined the first few months. After that it was a different story. Your loved one could be lying injured or having an issues and no one would know. The difference between a family run assisted living home living and a commercial assisted living living is night and day. The operators of Desert Joy Assisted Living Living is an active family environment. It is a family who deeply shows love and compassion to their residents. Can’t say enough to express how they took care of my parents. Our experience was over a 10 plus years of care. The family is down to earth. You become part of the family as a resident. You can interact with people who come to visit and share in a family share an active family household. Monica and Cornel are loving people. They are not employees who are there for a pay check. It’s how the family makes a living and they do it very good.Monica and Cornel have three daughter and one son. Three grand kids. As a patient (resident) you are part of that dynamics. I live far away from Az and my visits over the years have been reassuring that my Mom And Dad where getting good care. My parents are gone and I still communicate with the family and would do anything to help them, because they are honestly a good example of how people should be. Love that family and did a great job taking care of my parents. I wish them great success in there endeavors.

My grandparents lived at Desert Joy for nearly 11 years. They had previously been in an assisted living facility before moving into Desert Joy. There is no place better than "Monica's"- Desert Joy Assisted Living. My grandparents were treated like family and Monica and her family became part of our family. We are so thankful for Monica and her family and the care they gave to our grandparents. Words cannot express how grateful and thankful we are to this family and the caregivers that work there. My grandparents lived out their final days surrounded by family and caregivers that loved them. I would highly recommend Desert Joy Assisted Living to anyone who requires assisted living care. Monica, I am forever grateful to you!!

I have worked in long term care, sub acute, specialty hospitals and assisted living facilities for over 40 years. I’ve worked with for profit, not for profit , large chain and small chain care companies in six different states. When my Mom needed extra ended care, we looked at other facilities in the Peoria, Az area, but Mom wanted to go to Desert Joys. She had a friend that had her husband there and she already knew the Desert Joys family. We listened to her. We didn’t expect her to be there long, she was on hospice and her condition was serious. Monica, Cornell, and their family were there for her and for us. Mom’s care was the best. And even though we couldn’t always be there, she found another family that was there for her. Because of the great care she received she was with us much longer than anyone ever thought. Mom never had a complaint about her care or her decision to move to Desert Joys. It’s not a facility, it’s home. The caregivers are not just staff, they are family. I can’t thank them enough and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you and God Bless, Dennis Sever

I had to find a place for my mom to be taken care of about 4 yrs ago and found Desert Joy! Desert Joy is run by a wonder lady, Monica Rus, and she took the best care of my mom till she passed away in July 2019. It is a wonderful place filled with kindness and love. I would be happy to live there my self when needed! If you need a place for any one to be taken care of with great tender loving care check them out! great home and the family helps with the care.

My Father, Felix Maccagnano was a patient at Desert Joy for a little over a year. Upon my visit from Chicago last July, I was amazed to see the care he and all of the patients received from Monica and her staff. Each patient, including my Dad, was treated as if they are part of a family. My father was able to move about freely, ate nutritious meals, clean and shaven. If medical care was required, Desert Joy jumped on it immediately. I also appreciated the freedom the patients were given. Each day I would inform Monica or one of her staff members, the time I would pick up my Dad and return him to the home. They were very understanding since I did not reside in Az. Monica always would remind me, if I could not not get hold of my father by phone, call her phone. I recommend Desert Joy 5 stars.
