My family is so grateful for Avista here in Payson. When my brother was unable to care for himself we contacted Avista. Amazingly they had an available room and he was able to move in immediately. His diagnosis was complex and he needed a lot of help. The staff at Avista not only welcomed and cared for him, but for us as well. They created a family atmosphere that felt so comfortable for us. The food is good and care is excellent. We also enjoyed getting to know some of the other residents during my brother's stay. If you are looking for great care for your loved one and peace of mind, I would highly recommend Avista Senior Living here in Payson. Bill

One of the toughest decisions a family ever makes is to want their loved one in Assisted Living! I knew my mother needed round-the-clock care for 2 years before she consented to move into Avista Payson. The staff was instrumental in finally getting my mom there, they never gave up encouraging me or her and never let her forget the were always going to be there for her. Mom moved in 2 months ago and stayed in her apartment for the first two weeks. I was beginning to despair but the staff never did. By slowly encouraging her, mom began going to meals and then even more slowly started to attend activities, without me being right next to her. It's been so wonderful to see her transformation! Mom has friends-something she really hasn't had for years! Mom is eating better and because of it, she is feeling better. We deal with a lot of health issues but the staff is there supporting mom and me. My biggest joy is that I am not worrying 24/7 which I was, before Avista. She was 110 miles away from me and alone 16 hours a day. I'm sleeping again and that's something I hadn't been doing well for more than 2 years! It's glorious! I could go on and on but that would get boring . I can tell you that your family member will never find a more caring and devoted staff to care for them. Robin, Bobbe, Amber, Abby, Kayla, Keith, Shannon, Danny, Meredith, Riley, Leslie, Liz, Ash, Emily and the entirety of the rest of the staff get GOLD stars from our family and our complete gratitude for a job exceptionally well done! I don't know anything about the facility but I have a comment about the driver. Last month I took a friend to the hospital and was waiting in the car for a few hours. The van transporting patients to the main entrance came by several times. The driver was a blond in a long skirt. Every time she ran the stop signs both going in and out, barely slowing down. I would not trust my parents to be driven in such a reckless and illegal manner.

Exceptionally kind staff. My parents have lived there over a year and they feel like family. They are very caring, organized and efficient. My step dad recently passed and my mom does not want to move because of the compassionate care of the staff and the friends she has made.

The Powell House is a great place for the community. They make sure to deliver quality care to their residents and have a great staff who are trained in their jobs and do them incredibly well. I know some 9f the staff and they all care about their jobs. Overall as a health care facility the employees are well trained and good at what they do. The management is also great because they care about 5he residents and take excellent care of their employees . So that is why Im giving Powell House a four star rating, it would be three for any other reason but the people doing their jobs make it a better place.

My mother was a resident at Powell Place. While she was there our family was pleased with the care she received from all of the staff. They are genuinely honest and caring people who seem to enjoy their work and they do it well.
