UPDATE (07/10/2024 The new management company, Stellar, has made remarkable improvements to this community. The staff are better trained, the amenities are now impeccable, and the new chef has brought enjoyment back to the dining experience. My mom is very happy here now. Thunderbird Senior Living is great. The grounds are lovely, the apartments are roomy, the rental is more affordable than other senior apartments with similar amenities, and the residents are friendly and fun.

Welcomed improvements at Thunderbird Senior Living by Stellar Living's management team. The new management company, Stellar Living, at Thunderbird Senior Living has made many noteworthy improvements in early 2024 and shared plans for more as budget and staffing allow. My mother (95yrs young) has been an independent resident in the same apartment for over 13 years. Prior to Stellar's management beginning late 2023, she was dismayed by the slow decline of the property and services. She and her family were encouraged when Stellar's plan was communicated and the early phases for improvements put in motion. Stellar Living's attention to safety (lighting and access), dining room offerings and service, first-impressions (landscaping, building maintenance, and attractiveness of common areas), employee training and support, and the hosting of open meetings as well as private consultations is truly appreciated and shows their dedication to Thunderbird's residential quality of life. She is especially grateful for the attention paid to residents' concerns and recommendations by the new executive director, Michael Brown. My mother applauds Mr. Brown's recent program enabling residents to recognize Thunderbird's employees through nomination forms that contribute to employee awards. The quality of living at Thunderbird is directly enhanced by the dedication and services of the staff, many who have been faithful but underappreciated for years. Working together, the staff and management team will continue making everyone proud to be a resident or employee of Thunderbird Senior Living. My mother and her family wish them every success.

My husband and I toured Thunderbird and with the help of Mallory we really fell in love with this community. We would have signed up , but a 2 bedroom was not available at this time. We are waiting for an opening. Thunderbird should feel very proud of your staff, especially Mallory. She explained everything and answered all our questions. Was also concerned about my husbands health. We had lunch and it was delicious. Hope an apartment opens up soon as we are looking forward to seeing Mallory again and calling Thunderbird home.

After visiting with Katey Scott, I felt when the time comes to relocate to senior living, I will definitely go with Thunderbird . I would strongly suggest potential residents take time to sample a typical day of the food / dining experience. Food service needs improvement and serving times to get in and out needs to be improved drastically. Residents pay a lot of money to have two- three meals prepared per day, so this will be important over the long term decision to move to Thunderbird Senior Living. Other than that, anything else can be easily addressed. The place is lovely, however the dog park, there should be one on both ends of the property (what they have is extremely small) and the parking for visitors is not adequate.

This is absolutely the worst memory care place ever. Do not place your loved one here unless you want them to suffer neglect. This place kept feeding my diabetic parent sugar and suggested that a little would not be harmful. Then they missed a diabetic wound on his foot because they weren't supervising his showers. He almost had to have his toe amputated. They breached their contract of care as well as continuing to raise rates even when I had a written contract that prohibited them from raising rates more than 4% in a year. After my parent moved out, they bullied him by sending bills with no explanation as to what they were for and threatening collections. I called and emailed 3 times with no response. Run far away from this place.

It will be very difficult to fit everything I would like to say in this review. The care we received for my mother-in-law was amazing! When it came time to choose a facility for her, my husband and I toured close to twenty facilities. The day we walked into Thunderbird Senior Living I got a feeling of peace, and felt "this is the one". Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and I mean the staff and the residents. It is really an active community where the residents mingle and socialize with each other. The administration is very responsive and very helpful. When my mother-in-law had to move unexpectedly from independent living to assisted living, Allison, who was on duty over the weekend, went out of her way to make sure that Mom would have a timely and smooth transition from the hospital to the assisted living part of the facility. Katy in assisted living went above and beyond to make my mother-in-law feel welcomed and cared for and comfortable. The staff in assisted living took very good care of Mom. Shannon in administration and Katy in sales and marketing were so helpful from the day we had our first tour and throughout my mother-in-laws stay. The community has a lot to offer the residents; there always seemed to be something going on. My mother-in-law loved living there and was very happy there. The facility may not be brand new, but it is very clean and inviting and well maintained. I truly recommend Thunderbird Senior Living.

I had the pleasure and privilege of visiting this facility and meeting with Alison McCool; Sales & Marketing Director in Thunderbird Senior Living. When I made my first call, Alison was prompt to respond and emailed me some links and, Spotlight; a resource guide for senior services and living options as well as mailed me the hard copy of that resource! When I arrived at the Lobby for my appointment, Alison had rolled out almost the red carpet welcome and planned a very personal warm reception for me that my mouth just dropped and I was pleasantly surprised. Alison also had prepared a brochure with al the information I need and took me on a facility tour. The first thing I noticed is the warmth and the community friendly atmosphere that permeates especially with so many residents talking, visiting and happily enjoying themselves. I could see how Alison had established resident relationships and connected personally with them as she had with me personally with that personal tough and with caring! I have visited numerous wonderful facilities but none as inviting and warm!

My parents have lived here for 4 years. I cannot say enough greatness about Tbird. The staff are AMAZING and I have personally been eating the food for the past month while taking care of Dad and it is soooo good!!! I have been a permanent fixture there for the past 3 months and their response and practices for COVID are outstanding, they were on top of it already in March, even ahead of some of the hospital systems here in town. The management staff are great to work with( and I have not always been the most appropriate) and they were fabulous with me. You can rest at nite if your loved one is at Tbird.

I toured several places and found this to be the best place for my Mom. I think at first the main reasons being because all the rooms exit into a main hallway, not to the outside. I liked this for more security and safety. The rooms, apartments have a space right outside the door that you can decorate as a porch which was super cool. My Mom had two chairs and a table in her area and people would stop and sit to take a rest which would allow my Mom to meet new friends easily. The main hallway actually wraps around the entire building so on days its not good to walk outside, a walking group will walk the halls on each level. This is also good for those that like to walk but shouldnt walk outside due to wandering. The staff is super friendly, nice and caring. They all make it an effort to know all the residents well and make them feel welcomed. They have lots of things to do also which helped keep my Mom busy. They have planned travel days to various stores and outings via their buses. They also will provide transportation to and from Doctor Appointment within the area. The rooms were very nice, clean, looked brand new for an older building. They had front door peep-holes and door bells, like an actual apartment. They provide local phone service and a 24 hour emergency alert necklaces for the tenants, but wi-fi you need to provide yourself (we got a discounted plan for $20 a month with Cox). The restaurant (I call it) is just like a restaurant. The meals change and you get a nice, customized, bound menu when you go to eat. Two meals a day is standard but you can purchase a third. There are also other services you can purchase if needed. Family is encouraged to visit for meals and the food is good. There is also on-site assistance services you can hire to help administer medication, take blood pressure, take on personal shopping trips, etc. My Mom really liked that they have happy hour every Friday at 4:30 and friends and family are welcome. Makes it a great opportunity to meet the other residents and staff. The inner exterior area of the facility is really nice and welcoming. One side has a heated pool and golf putting area, and the other side has a large pond area complete with turtles and ducks. Lots of places to sit outside and enjoy good weather. I wish my Mom could have stayed longer, but her condition worsened rapidly, but the facility accepted our 30 day notice of vacating before the year contract was up with no issues (due to declining health). Oh, you can have small pets here too, though my Mom didnt. Its definitely worth checking out.

I have enjoyed the past 15 months at Thunderbird Senior Living because it provides me with comfortable and safe living without the maintenance of a house. I especially appreciate the large clothing and storage closets, the thorough apartment cleaning provided every two weeks, the trash pick-up Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the washer, dryer combination just around the corner from my apartment. Because I have severe allergies, I also appreciate the individual air conditioning unit with replaceable filters and an individual thermostat. There is a huge selection of activities daily (including exercise classes 5 days a week) and the freedom to participate in those of interest to you.

So far our experience has been excellent! My mom has been resident a little over a month and she is adjusting to her new lifestyle with the help of ALL the staff! I would like to give a shout out to Holly Erickson, Adelita Ramirez & Brittany for making the move in go so smoothly and making us feel welcome! . All the staff in the restaurant are super attentive to the needs of the elderly. I want to mention Elaine, one of the wait staff because she makes my mom feel comfortable putting her at ease & makes our dining experience quite enjoyable! All the people who work the front desk reception are friendly & knowledgeable going out of their way to direct us and answer our questions. Matthew in Maintence has a fantastic attitude and is always there when we have needed him.I know he has gone out of his way several times to assist my mom when he has spotted her wandering because she was lost and couldnt find her way back to her room. I have seen many staff members go above and beyond their job description assisting the residents. We havent had a chance to use the 2 van shuttles yet but we plan on it! I have observed the drivers taking great care of the people using the service! I cant say enough how pleasant & friendly everyone has been! Lots of fun activities are available on a daily basis for those that care to join in. The property is clean& safe. Great location close to supermarket, pharmacies, banks & local shopping plazas & restaurants.Thank you to all the staff for helping us thru a long distance, out of state transition!

Thunderbird Senyour Living is a worm comfortable place to live. It has a large heated pool, two ponds with large gold fish, a large inner courtyard with lit walkways, a great dining room with a great deal of selections to chews from, an in-house theater that has at least one movie a weak. I could go on and on you just need to come and see for yourself but remember its just for Senyours.

Remodeled and looking lovely. Its a maze to get around for those with memory loss but our family likes it. Just be sure to call the kitchen staff ahead of time if you want to join your loved ones for a bite to eat in the dining room. Also, when they say, buffet style it doesnt mean repeated trips like an all-you-can-eat - our mistake. We had one unpleasant dining room experience and it had the whole dining staff staring and whispering (very uncomfortable and unwelcoming)Pro: Remodeling, on-site nurse, pool and facility is located right across Banner HospitalCon: Witnessed staff being very rude during Veterans Day and treating elders like they were undisciplined children.

My Mom has been here more than 3 yrs. She loves it! The staff are so gracious and treat every resident in a personally caring manner; for instance, the wait staff in the restaurant look guests in the eye and know their names, even getting down to be eye to eye if someone is in a wheel chair and unable to look upward. The chef has made gluten free food when I visit; even the Alaskan Salmon is usually better than what I have had living in Alaska! They bring in live music often, and host events, parties. The shuttle staff take folks on errands or to the symphony. The cleaning staff do a wonderful job for the residents, and the pool is warm enough for a therapeutic swim, exercise. The ducks in the 2 ponds are a real hoot! They have ducklings who follow them around and even get scraps from residents who are at the bar-b--ques having a family picnic. I used to be a long term care medical social worker and I have seen terrible residences for mature folks. This place is a 5 star diamond!
