Rating is for the food, sense February 2924 the food has gone down hill, not fully cooked, cold, flavor is lacking, apparently the cook or chef has left and the meals have been poor. Residents have talked about it but it’s still poor, other than that the living facility is clean people are friendly and helpful , the meals leave a lot to be desired.

Recently my husband and I helped an elderly friend relocate to Sunrise. The experience was very positive in all regards. Upon entering the building, we were met with the warm, inviting atmosphere of a beautifully decorated area. The apartment itself was spacious and full of light from the windows. Most important was the friendly competent sales director, Karina Magallon, who helped us with every detail, making sure our friend's individual needs were met. She has been so happy there, reporting to us that she has made new friends, has enjoyed lots of activities, and found the meals delicious!

I loved visiting Sunrise Senior Living. My husband and I checked out 5 other living facilities and chose Sunrise for my parents because they were well established and had lots of activities. The residents there appeared happy and enjoying themselves rather than secluded and waiting to die. There were residents smiling and dancing in the hallways, some walking their doggies and others socializing in different event rooms. There was also a bus unloading residents that took a field trip to the casino. This place was energetic and vibing high.My parents will be moving in here at a near future date.

This review speaks to my experience of helping my father's journey to decide to move and secure a 1 bedroom independent living apartment. Our process of searching began several months ago but accelerated recently when my dad had a medical issue that reminded us we needed him closer to us. We came to Sunrise from the recommendation of a current resident (who has lived there for several years). If it is good enough for him, we figured it was ok for my dad. The Sunrise team were responsive every time we called. They provided tours and even a sample meal. They are being very flexible about the move in arrangement and providing lots of info, including a great moving company. The Cami was especially helpful. I've been over 3-4 times and It does not feel like a nursing home. Instead, the environment of the common areas are more like a country B&B inn. There is a front desk concierge, multiple comfy common living spaces. The hallways from apartments to common areas are inside (no walking in the heat). The halls are wide and have chair rails large enough to hold on to if someone is unsteady, with sitting areas throughout the halls if someone gets tired. Inside the apartment it feels like any other apartment except that they have panic-cords and handles in the bathroom, plus interior doorways are extra wide if a wheel chair is ever needed. The actual move is few weeks away so I'll be back to let you know how things go.

I had my mother in another assisted living facility. They had half the staff, and they were simply workers there. At Sunrise of Gilbert, they hire caregivers first, then train them to perform in their role. I used to worry about my mother receiving adequate care, now I have no worries knowing she is cared for just like she would be with our own family.

From my personal experiences, the dedication, sincerity, care, patience, attention and Love afforded two family members who lived here, took any concern regarding my loved ones' state of being off my shoulders. As both approached their final chapters with us, my time with each was filled with quality. You can teach virtually any receptive person the skills to perform most work. I showed up again unannounced on a weekend just to see if I would get the same result and I did. This community is a 5 star in my book.

Having spent 7 weeks in close connection with the staff at Reminiscence memory unit at Sunrise Senior Living, I say with full confidence that it is a facility par excellence, thanks to the dedicated management of Denise Greiner, who has created a work culture of sincere kindness, thoughtful care, and responsible professionalism. She involves herself in every level of care, and all of her staff reflect these values in an atmosphere that fosters meaningful relationships and allows residents a wider range of individual expression than I have observed elsewhere. The number of residents provides plenty of opportunity for finding compatible social connection and the architecture of the memory wing is well laid-out for a variety of engagements, both small- and large-group, individual and collective, familial and resident-focused. The overall feel at Reminiscence is very open and relaxed. Activities Director Andrea Bell ensures that there is a broad array of events that are both fun and enriching her enthusiasm is boundless and contagious. Everything is adapted to include the level of residents' physical and cognitive abilities so no one is left out who chooses to engage. Each week there are fresh and interesting activities as well as comfortable stand-bys. Sometimes they include visiting other parts of the Sunrise community and inviting other Sunrise residents in. My parents were intent on aging in place at their home of 23 years in Chandler, Arizona. However, following a medical event, my brother and I decided it was a good time to begin investigating independent living communities, with an assisted living option. After viewing five other communities, we toured Sunrise of Gilbert. A decision to make the move to independent living, and selecting Sunrise of Gilbert was almost immediate. The atmosphere is bright and engaging as soon as you enter the front door. Many residents were milling about and enthusiastically wanted to know if my parents would be joining them at Sunrise. Our tour guide was extraordinary as she described the available activities and transportation options. The apartment selected was larger than others we had toured, and all the community areas were spacious, well decorated and extremely clean. The community made the move-in process easy. My parents are completing their second week as residents and are very excited to be part of Sunrise.

I've been here for almost 2 years. I visited 11 places before choosing Sunrise and have never regretted my decision. It's not new and mega sized, but I find it warm, comfortable and welcoming. The 3 meals a day are generous and satisfying. Not always seasoned like I prefer, but I don't have to purchase, prepare or clean up...Yah!! The staff here is so friendly and helpful. A few of our residents have come here from other places where they were unhappy, were unhappy here and have moved on to other places searching for happiness. I have found it here at Sunrise! I can't imagine any other senior place i'd rather be.

In the middle of September, 2021, my 87 year old, Independent-Living mother began a fairly rapid decline of her physical abilities (was already using a walker) and a less rapid decline of her mental faculties. Both of these were noticed and pointed out by staff with a clear concern for her overall well being. At the end of October, 2021, I moved her into a small, 5-bedroom assisted care home, run by the same people who had cared for her 90 year old mother (my grandmother) 25 years ago. Although the home was still well run, clean and welcoming, within a week she missed the hustle and bustle and interactivity of Sunrise. She missed Mary, Candy, Annette, Carol, Alberto (Staff members) and many of the residents about whom she would often speak. I am moving her back into the assisted living side of Sunrise in two weeks on November 27, and she mentions it daily. The minimal amount of turnover of staff at Sunrise is a testament to the commitment shown daily by staff and it has a resounding affect on the residents. My mom can be difficult at times, likely due to periods of frustration from not being able to do all the things she used to do, but the staff truly understands this is a common result of growing old. I cannot express how thankful I was when she was at Sunrise and how thankful I am to know she is returning soon, as her mind and spirit will receive the stimulation and interaction she so greatly needs. Her one month stay at the home of long-time friends/assisted living caregivers was healthy, clean and safe, but she is returning to a much more active environment and she couldn't be more excited. I have been a resident of Sunrise Independent Living at Gilbert for the last two years, after experiencing two other senior facilities in the past 6 years. I have learned that no place is perfect, but everyplace has many interesting people from many different places with many different likes and dislikes. I find this Sunrise more to my liking than others and I look forward to being here for many years!! I have everything I need and am very content. The staff was exceptional when Covid had us all locked in our apartments, delivering our food and extra drinks and treats twice a day, testing us again and again. Since returning to the dining room for meals, the early problems with staff and servers have been resolved and our meals are delicious and healthy. With multiple choices in the Gilbert Valley , I am very happy to be living in this place and am very grateful for the staff who care for us all each day!

I could tell that they loved my grandmother as if she was their own grandmother. I would highly recommend this facility and their staff for anyone looking for assisted living care. Sunrise is by far the best Assisted living in the industry. I am the owner of Assisted Living Locators East Valley, and seal with all communities and homes in the valley, so I dont say theyre the best lightly. Significant amount of longevity amongst their staff, which is at all 3 AZ properties. They can handle care higher than any of their other competitors. The communication between families, staff, providers and residents is astonishing. Their response time on average is 4 minutes, which is unheard of in senior care. I could go on much further, as there are so many accolades that make Sunrise the best. If youre looking for a place for your loved one, look no further. I have placed hundreds of families in their care, and all of them have been beyond happy!

My Mom moved to Sunrise of Gilbert in Nov of 2019 after having broke her hip. She had suffered from dementia for about 8 years and was really struggling. The staff at Sunrise went above and beyond EVERY day to make my Moms days the best that they can be. We are so glad that we chose Sunrise. My Mom passed away on Friday, and the staff stayed by her side until the end. She was not alone. Thank you to all of the staff for loving my Mom!

My grandfather lived at Sunrise for 2 1/2 years and we really loved it. The caregivers were great and always checked on him. The medical staff were very good and always kept me in the loop. My grandpa absolutely loved their food, said it was the best he'd ever had (don't tell grandma!). Sunrise is always clean and smells clean and like a home, not like some care centers. Everyone is always very friendly and made me, as a family member, feel at home there. The activities are great and there is always something for someone to do there. My grandpa loved that they take them on outings. Rooms were spacious and well maintained. Lots of natural light from the big windows. A great porch out front for the residents to sit at. I checked out many assisted living places before deciding on Sunrise and I am so glad I did. My grandpa lived out the rest of his life at Sunrise and he always felt like he was treated extra special (although I think they treat everyone that way! But, hey, if your loved one feels special, then that is what they are going for!). I would highly recommend Sunrise of Gilbert (they also have a memory care level and independent living, besides the assisted living my grandpa lived in).

I think this location is very pleasing to the eye. They do their best to be patient with my Mother in law and that is challenging. Because she can be on a good day, vivacious. On a bad day; belligerent. They take it in stride. Because from what I have observed, individuals who work in assisted living need to strike a balance between compassion and having a thick skin. Not easy to do. I think it's wonderful that they have a beautiful therapy dog on the premises. The only con we have run into is on the business end. A recent late fee for rent that was paid on time in person. But we were told they were now only accepting rent via online or postal mail. But my husband was not given notice of this. This is the "sandwich generation". Individuals trying to care for their spouses and children while trying to make sure their aging parents are content (and some will never be, whether with you in your home, or in one of the top facilities in the valley), so advance notice with administrative fees is greatly appreciated. My MIL is irritated with the coming and going of staff in her room to assist her with meds. I don't know how that can be helped. It's a necessary interruption. We all hate that when we have hospital stays. And with short term memory loss even reminding a resident that you will be back may be quickly forgotten. So we are overall pleased with Sunrise. And I think there are more pros than cons.

My Father has been there over 2yrs, it was good when he first went in. Meals were tasty, care and cleaning were done well. After a couple years of help turn over and less staff, they are charging more and not providing more, they rank lower than many other assisted living properties now, our loved one would be traumatized by a move, so we feel stuck with second rate for the 7000+ we pay a month.

My parents have recently moved back to Sunrise of Gilbert. We were very pleased with most everything there but we moved them out after my mother had a stroke because we needed a different care giving situation than was available to our needs at the time. Since then we have experienced a variety of different living arrangements and different living facilities, none of which lived up to our needs or expectations. We couldn't wait to get back here! My parents are so much happier with the best quality of life possible for their current needs here at Sunrise of Gilbert. The thing that is the most prevalent to me here is that time and time again, each and every person within the Sunrise organization that I/we have encountered lives up to their corporate mission statement. They don't just say the words, they demonstrate them through their actions and energy of patience, kindness & compassion. I am sleeping better at night again knowing that my parents are in good hands surrounded by people who really demonstrate a true love and caring for our seniors. Thank you everyone at Sunrise of Gilbert...you all are my/our Earth Angels! xx's

I am probably not your typical situation- I am in my 30's and had to place my 69 year old mother in a care facility. I did a lot of touring and research and really liked their Terrace Club (for seniors with mid to moderate memory loss). The pros about Sunrise of Gilbert are definitely the care givers. If it were not for them I would have given 3 stars. They are amazing people who really do their job to make a difference in the people they care for lives. Every care giver my mom has is incredible at their job. I also like that they have a full schedule of activities with just a little down time after lunch. This is wonderful for elderly people who like to keep busy. They also do an outing once a month for lunch. My major complaint would have to be the management staff. While I will be the first to admit my mother may be a unique and difficult situation I have not been impressed with their follow- through. This is a big challenge for me since if you are having issues or need help with something you have to go through the management which in my case means a returned phone call 1 out of 9 times. When you do get someone on the phone it feels as though they are just saying whatever to appease you and once again the issue of no follow through. In summary if it were not for the great care givers (the people on the floor working with your loved on daily) I would have already moved my mom.
