Beware the nurse Amy at this place. She pretendsto be kind, but behind closed doors is another thing. I have seen her shout, bully, threaten, and shame. Residents fear her, with good reason. We question her validity as a real nurse, based on her mis- diagnosis and neglect of obvious health issues. Think twice before subjecting your loved one to this overpriced, scarcely maintained facility. We had to take our loved one out of there - and not a minute too soon. Be sure to read all the reviews - not just the few that are higher rated.

Brookdale assisted living in Flagstaff truly goes above and beyond for their residents. They’re incredibly interactive with both the community and people who live there. The memory care team consistently engages residents in meaningful outdoor activities. I love that Brookdale makes sure everyone has an opportunity to go on trips, enjoy restaurant outings, and even participate in fun movie nights they really do put the living back into senior living. The staff and caregivers are warm, caring, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure residents receive the attention and support they need. Brookdale Senior Living in Flagstaff may not be the fanciest or biggest place in town, but this small, cozy and quaint community has the love and quality of care that goes unmatched!

I wish to address the recent one-star review submitted by an individual named "Patty." This reviewer is dissatisfied because she lacks authorization to receive HIPAA-protected information regarding my father, who is currently a resident. I want to express my sincere appreciation for the staff at Brookdale Flagstaff, who have consistently demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and transparency in their communication. Multiple employees have gone above and beyond to assist my family. As I manage my father's affairs from 600 miles away, I have received unwavering support from the entire team on a weekly basis for the past six months. From the initial video walkthrough tour to a recent hospitalization, the staff have been an integral part of my support network. They have taken the time to familiarize themselves with my father and me, consistently remembering our names and the specific details of our circumstances. I have been there in person; it is clean, homey, and all the staff are welcoming and take their safety responsibilities seriously. THANK YOU to Daniel, Bobby, Amy, Taryn, Crystal, and Vanessa. I am going to hug you all the next time I am in town!

My dad was in a different assisted living/memory care facility before he passed and that was an unpleasant experience for several different reasons. In the years after my dad passed away, my mother became severely depressed and withdrawn and not able to physically take care of herself effectively. About 3 weeks after moving to Brookdale Flagstaff, my mother had a stroke. Because of the alert staff at Brookdale, my mother got immediate medical attention and transportation to the hospital where she received a shot that likely saved her life. Mom now has cognitive challenges that make her very self conscious. Brookdale staff is aware of this and they have never made her feel uncomfortable or "labeled". That means the world to me! During the three plus years mom has lived at Brookdale Flagstaff, she has returned to her cheerful, outgoing self. Her overall health is significantly improved because her physical and emotional state have been supported and she is living her best life. This is something I could not have imagined five years ago! I personally credit Brookdale Flagstaff for improving mother's well-being to a level that is prolonging her life and increasing her enjoyment of her life experience. That is priceless. I highly recommend considering Brookdale Flagstaff if you have are in search of a facility that truly makes an effort to give the best care. Michele

We have been very pleased with the team at Brookdale. They have been kind and responsive at every turn. They really go out of their way to encourage residents to attend events. They have been great to take care of medical needs. We have gotten multiple calls to ensure everything is going well. They seem to really care.

The facility is beautiful. The management is fast to communicate with family needs or concerns. I do feel like they need to hire additional staffing on the assisted-living side as I would often find myself having to clean the bathroom and kitchen myself. It was my understanding the room would be cleaned at least once a week, but I understand the staffing shortage and the cleaning crew they do have working there Are great. The nurses on the assisted-living side tried their best to take care of Mom. There were a few times when I would find her medication on the floor and unfortunately, when she needed encouragement to eat, they tried their best with the time that they could allot to assist her. Like I said, I think they need to hire more help. When I brought my concerns about the medication to management, they were quick to respond with additional training for their employees . Thank you for that! Every staff member we encountered was super friendly, especially the dining and cleaning staff. Once Mom transitioned to the memory care unit, The nurses were phenomenal and her care level increased. I think it takes a very special person to work in that community and the people we met were very kind . I just think they were stretched a little thin. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend Brookdale assisted-living for your loved one.

Brookdale just raised its rent/care fee $776/mo after my mother has only lived there 5 months. Beware, they can raise the rent at anytime. There have also been several problems: they did not administer her medications properly when she first moved in, they referred me to a horrible primary care practice, they administered tests without my permission (I am her medical DPOA), she had a caregiver who was, well, not caring. Just really read the fine print and keep your expectations low.

Brookdale flagstaff has to be one of the most amazing Senior Living communities out their, from there fabulous programs coordinators coming up with new and creative ways to engage the the residents each day, to the great dining staff that display culinary excellence each day for the residents so they always have a great dining experience. The customer service when one walks through the door also gets top marks in my book the fabulous front desk staff makes me feel welcome every time I walked through the door. I also have nothing but great things to say about the Health care staff here, both of the managers in this department genuinely care about each and every one of the residents that are in their care and this trickles down to all of the caregivers as well. Even the sales manager is fantastic she doesn't give you any of this fast talking car salesmen treatment that I'm sure so many of us have had she sits down and makes sure not only is Brookdale a good fit for your loved one but really tries to get to know your loved one so upon moving in Brookdale can enrich their life to the fullest. Last but certainly not least Brookdale really seems to build its foundation on helping not only the residents but their families as well and for this their open door policy is really shown off if ever there is a problem their fabulous Business Office coordinator and Executive director are the first to dig in and help to fix it. From top to bottom the Brookdale flagstaff staff displays excellence day in and day out and I would highly recommend anyone looking for senior living in the flagstaff area to stop by because I know you wont be disappointed.

We had been looking for a place for my dad. It was a difficult time as I am sure many who are in this season truly know. I heard about Brookdale through a friend because their dad was here. I came in, was treated to a tour with this amazing staff Jasmine Roman, and within a month or so they helped me get all the details situated. They went above and beyond to answer all the questions and worries I had.My dad moved in, I already liked it so much but was so worried about how my dad would feel. He can be picky, has some very serious medical needs physically and with medicine. Within a few days he not only adjusted so well, but he showed improvement in his attitude, willingness to work on physical health, AND he displayed overall improvement in his well-being. I know that finding a home can be so hard and wanting to trust who your family will be with isn't easy. You should seriously consider Brookdale Flagstaff for their outstanding staff, great facility, and amazing program that has truly changed my dad's life for the better!
