My Aunt has lived at The Neighborhood for a year. She loves it and I never have to worry about her. The nurses and staff always keep me up to date on how she is doing. The Activities Director always has something going on. I feel at home when I come by. You can't ask for more than that.

My brothers & I placed our mother in the care of The Neighborhood at Madison in the late winter/early spring of 2024. My mother's illnesses and conditions were extensive and complicated. Nothing with her was easy. However, the staff of this assisted living facility tried their very best to give her care and attention, some of them even treated her as their own relative. My mother required constant reassurance & comfort and oh so much more that the staff here provided with a willing attitude. They would personally text or call me when they had concerns so that I could make decisions or come when necessary. They were also very supportive when I couldn't be there at times due to work. My mother was 40 years older than I plus she had cancer which means got "old" very quickly. I was with her as much as possible and always a phone call away. My mother's care took the effort of many friends, family, the staff, and myself because she was constantly in pain and she was scared. Also, she was never diagnosed properly until a month before she died despite constant doctor's visits, so we never knew what to think. The people at this facility helped me navigate through this extremely rough time in a way that I would not have expected and my family & I greatly appreciate it. Several members of the staff at The Neighborhood at Madison, especially Amy, were kind and supportive up to and even after the day my mom died from her ailments a little over 6 months after she came to live here. They helped make my mom's last few months joyful as they could be.

How many stars can you give to a facility that literally helped me save the lives of my 90 year old parents ? The staff at the neighborhood are unlike anything you will find in corporate America. They truly care about the well being of each resident as well as their family members. When you sign on you become a member of a community that cares for each other and supports each other. It has been an amazing experience with amazing community members. It was probably the most difficult decision I have had to make in my lifetime but it has also been one of the best decisions I have made. Every service that I have needed for my folks over the past months The Neighborhood has provided: A physician that comes every Tuesday to see to my folks as needed. An on-site Beauty salon in which you never have to worry about missing an appointment because they come and get you. Transportation to and from medical facilities. They make sure my folks are up, and dressed and ready to go. They help them to the transportation vehicle, drive them to the facility, take them into the facility and in my folks case they have waited for them, then transport them back to The neighborhood and got them settled back into their room. Danaka provides three nutritious hot meals every day and when my folks could not make it down to the dining room the meals were delivered to their room. They make sure my folks get their meds and it is an amazing and efficient process. When I had to take my father to Birmingham for a medical procedure, the Dr. submitted an e-script to Guardian Pharmacy at 10am when my Dad and I returned home at 8pm his meds were waiting for him. Once a week my folks room gets serious cleaning - sweeping and moping the floors, etc. - but every day the garbage is removed, the frig is cleaned and they make every effort to pick up and tidy the room. Their laundry is done once a week. They put out a basket of dirty cloths one night and it is returned the next day clean. They also go to the extra effort of putting my folks clothes back in their closet. They change their linens once a week and as needed because accidents happen. They help my folks bathing twice a week and the staff are courteous, kind and respectful of my folks privacy and their desire to do as much as they can themselves. My folks wear a pendant which allows them to call for assistance 24 hrs a day. They can call for help for any reason at any time and the staff is ALWAYS right there with a smile. When my mom lost the controller for her bed, the staff came quickly and located it. Melinda is a fabulous activity director and she has planned activities for every thing imaginable. Robbie the facility manager helped us move the furniture into my folks room and has fixed/repaired any issue that has come along with their apartment. The nurses and med-tech are always there to answer any question or concern about my folks health. They go the extra mile to help my folks in an way that is needed. The staff is not only there for my parents but for me as well. Educating and helping me to understand how to best help my folks and what to expect. I have learned so much on this journey from so many staff members. I am grateful to be a member of this community. I am in awe of the care my parents have received and how much they have improved, physically, mentally and emotionally. I do not worry about my folks anymore, I know they are being cared for and I know the staff will call me if anything comes up.

I’m so thankful for this wonderful community and the people who take such great care of my father. I have had to put my father in respite care for extended periods of time due to the demands of my work travel and I have never found a team or facility that made him feel comfortable and welcome. He instantly felt like he was home and part of a community. He cannot wait to go back! Thank you Tanya Barksdale for being such an amazing administrator and building this great team!

I moved in 2/9/2024. I love it. All of the staff is friendly and consciencious. But I've noticed that some of the residents would complain no matter what. It's clean, well maintained, loving, like family. The staff try all they can to care for and engage the residents, even when the residents are difficult. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

A review by the current executive director of the facility should not be posted here. Of course she will give it 5 stars! Please proceed with caution. This property has it's good points but overall it is not worth the money or the worry. A tour will only give an impression of what they want you to see. My mom was there last year under the new management and it was a nightmare. I filed a complaint with the state authorities and was told there would be an investigation. Their lack of compassion was truly shocking in the end.

All of the reviews here are for Morningside, not The Neighborhood. My mother lived at both and they are not managed by the same company. Morningside had a good reputation and that is why I placed her there. This website should delete this page and add a new one. Please see [link removed]. I will post a review once a correction is made. For those seeking a review I can say mine will not be favorable.

My mother moved into Morningside in March 2020 during the onset of the COVID 19 Pandemic. The staff made the transition easy even through we could not go in. The staff is very friendly and responsive. My mother is comfortable in her new home.

My mother has a wonderful, caring place at Morningside. All of the staff is friendly, attentive, and thorough. The staff to resident ratio is the best I have seen in being involved with or touring many facilities in the Huntsville and Madison County area. The residents are happy, the activities are plentiful and encouraging, and the dining is excellent and accommodating. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

My mother-in-law has lived at Morningside of Madison since Novemver 2018. We stumbled on Morningside while looking for respite care and after the second one-week visit we had the opportunity to move her in. At first she was very apprehensive, but has since grown to enjoy it and has made many friends. Being able to personalize her apartment with her furnishings from home made the transition easier. The facility is clean and the staff is always friendly and seem to go out of their way to address our questions and concerns. Chef Melvin and his team provide a diverse variety of tasty, well balanced meals. The community is small enough to have a family atmosphere and provides a variety of activities for the residents to participate in.

Morningside has an incredibly friendly staff that makes residents and visitors feel like you are part of a big family. The staff is extremely caring and flexible and go out of their way to serve the individual needs and personalities of the residents.

My mother moved in to Morningside of Madison in August 2018. She has been very happy with the care and genuine kindness of the staff at Morningside. She has made many new friends and has many activities that she participates in every day. This is the third facility that my mother has lived in in the last three years, so I do have other assisted-living facilities to compare. Morningside is the best hands down. The chef does an amazing job providing delicious balanced meals three times a day, seven days a week . The director Sammi is top notch. She is always available and willing to help in anyway. The rest of the administration staff and the nursing. team and the activities director and the maintenance staff all do a fine job. They are all working together as a team. We are very thankful that we found Morningside of Madison for my mother at this time in her life when she needed a little assistance. Jacqueline Campbell

Morningside of Madison gets a five star review in my book ! I interviewed six retirement facilities in the Huntsville area to help us with care for a family member and we chose Morningside ! Our experience has been extraordinary ! They have a dedicated staff that delivers very personal care for the residents, excellent meals, activities for residents, and they maintain a very clean and professional facility. Residents can enjoy sitting on the front porch visiting with friends or retreat to their nicely decorated room . On my visits, many of the residents share this is better than home !

My mother loves Morningside and has from the first day she arrived. She has made so many new friends and the staff is like family. The facilities are always kept clean and are so cheery. She loves her suite and it's just the right size for her. There are always activities for the residents to do - even if it's just sitting on the front porch rocking with all the other ladies. My family is so blessed that we found a place that my mother enjoys so much.

My grandmother is a resident at Morningside. She has been there for almost 2 years now, & has thrived so much. She has made many friends, stepped out of her comfort zone to be a part of activities, etc. The staff treats her & my family as if we are their own! She is well cared for, & loved by all of the staff. We were so concerned with having to put her in an assisted living since she had always lived on her own. Morningside was the BEST decision we have ever made. She is so happy here! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This place has been truly a blessing to our family. My mother initially resisted going to an assisted living, but has grown to love Morningside of Madison and even refers to the staff and residents as her family now! My mother has improved physically and emotionally since she has moved here. I feel confident that she is being cared for as communication is excellent. Another plus is that the food is outstanding. There is so much more I could positively comment on, but in summary, I highly recommend Morningside of Madison.

We moved my father in law into Morningside last year. The experience has been very positive! The love, care and concern they show him has been such a relief as he has transitioned to assisted living. The facility is always clean and manged well and the chef serves the most unbelievable chocolate pie! 🙂

My husband has been living at Morningside of Madison since mid 2014. We love this place. It is truly an extension of our home. The staff here are skilled and very loving. I'm confident that even family cannot provide better care than this. We moved here because the facility was plush, well maintained, and tastefully decorated. We also like the spacious rooms, which came with a large walk-in closet. We stayed here because the staff treat us like family. Nurse, cook, or any aid will alert me if they observe any thing out of ordinary. Besides friendly and conscientious staff, the residents are friendly too. There are many different activities to engage residents and family. This is really such a good facility. I highly recommend Morningside of Madison if you're looking for an assisted living place for your loved one.

My mother is still very independent. There may come a time, however, when she may wish to have help but still will want to remain independent and not live with either of her children. I toured Morningside and found it to be a great solution for us if that time comes. The staff is so helpful and the residents seem to be very content. I was pleasantly surprised.
