We were so sad when our family member’s needs could no longer be met at her memory care facility and would have to move. We had vowed to not place her in a traditional nursing home, and St Martin’s proved to be the best facility for her needs. She was on the third floor of Apartment A. Nurse Barbara was the family’s sweetheart. She’s so diligent and so caring. We felt like she made us a part of her family. Please advise whoever needs to know that SM’s has a real gem in Barbara and give her some kind of recognition or bonus. Thank you for caring for our loved one who passed on October 13.

The staff at Saint Martins are some of the kindest most compassionate people Ive ever met. My father was very well taken care of the three days he was there. Thanks to Saint Martins I was able to sit with my dad while he passed even through the Covid Pandemic. I am very thankful these women helped me through my fathers last days.

My sister lived in the Cottages for nearly six years. From her time of entry, recovering from constant infections, she was protected from similar traumas by a dedicated staff. Pre-entry, her internist and medical specialists gave her little chance for long survival because of a host of health issues and bad habits. She found new friends and relationships, and was protected from the frequent self-injury (e.g. bruises and open sores from falls. bed sores from sitting long hours and laying in bed for days at a time). My Mother, who is now a resident there, went from going to the hospital every week to having one short trip in over a year. While many nursing homes have deaths from Coronavirus, St. Martins has none.

My Mom is a resident in Cottages for more then 3 years. She has sever dementia and she does not speak English, so it is not easy to care for her. And I am so grateful to St.Martin stuff who are taking care of my Mom. Their job is so hard, but they are loving, patient, kind and professional. I thank God every day that we got her there. I had a chance to compare this place with other Nursing Homes, I heard a lot from my friends who were not able to put their parents to St. Martin, and I feel blessed that my Mom is here, not somewhere else. Thank you St. Martin workers on all levels!

This morning, I brought my wife and 3 other very close friends of a man whose been admitted here for end-of-life care. My immediate impression was very favorable. It was clean and quiet, with no sanitary cleaning odor. Upon entering one of the staff saw me and asked if she could help. She told me where we had to sign in and what Suite our friend was in. As we walked to his room, his nurse introduced himself and told us a bit the kind of care he was receiving and told us he was available for any questions. Our friends room was very clean and neat. The lighting was very comfortable and welcoming. We spoke with 4 staff members besides our friends nurse. Every one of them were very pleasant and offered their help, for anything we needed. I noticed a number of little things that had been done to help keep our friend comfortable. Things that Im positive are helping him remain as comfortable as possible in his condition and demonstrate a deep level of genuine caring attitude from the nurses and staff. If I ever have a need to place a family member in an end-of-life Hospice Care facility, I would not hesitate to use St. Martins in the Pines.

St. Martins is a great faith based and tight knit community. There is such a friendly atmosphere around the entire campus. The elders and their families are the greatest joy and blessing to be able to care for. Our pastoral team is remarkable; they keep the community grounded in faith and positivity! I am the Assistant Director of Nursing at St. Martins in the Pines. Working at St. Martins in the Pines has been a outstanding experience. This is a faith based campus with a very positive environment. There are so many great people working here and we all are like family here. The customer service and patient care is outstanding. We have some really great elders and families that reside at our campus here at St. Martins in the Pines. This campus has so much to offer such as rehab, long term care in our cottages, many levels of assisted living, and several levels of apartments The food here is outstanding.

I have worked for St. Martins in The Pines for a month now, so I consider myself a new employee. I am the R.N. Supervisor over Cottage C. I have worked in the medical profession close to 40 years in one capacity or another. St. Martins in The Pines is like a community, campus ; which I have never experienced anywhere else. All of the team members are friendly, caring and welcomed me with open arms to their world. The Elders we care for as well as their family members are a part of this community, campus. Administration is wonderful, making me feel comfortable and patient , allowing my orientation phase to continue, learning something new everyday and enjoying every day. My father was there for rehab for almost two months. At first I had the often present ambivalence about the decline in status of my father but as I visited him daily (minus a time or two when I felt overwhelmed), I directly experienced the sensitivity of the nursing staff. I was able to see the change in my father and staff helped me to see his changed needs. Administration and Therapy Staff advocated for my fathers disposition at the end of rehab but due to extenuating circumstances the recommended placement did not occur. To this day, I still feel great fondness for this facility. I feel my fathers spiritual presence there and have so many great memories ... thanks to the staffs support and facilitation. My heart warms whenever I pass this facility.
