Not a typical review. Not about medicine. This place should have museum mark or keyword. They have absolutely amazing small exhibition of cultural native Ametican items. 5 floors stairs filled with nice artworks, dolls, artisanal pieces. And very nice small non-profit craft shop on the 1st Mountain floor (to the right from the main non-emergency entrance. Beautiful hand-made artworks, jewerly, fur clothes, etc. Silver earrings - $70-100, bone earrings $40-50, post cards $2. And many others. CASH ONLY!

Walking into this hospital in Anchorage feels more like entering a cultural museum than a medical facility. The building is filled with incredible Alaska Native artwork, including hand-carved ivory in the stairwells and beautiful traditional crafts that make the atmosphere feel warm and grounded. I loved how the design uses huge windows and natural light to bring the beauty of the outdoors inside, which is so much more relaxing than a typical clinical setting. The staff is deeply connected to the community and often incorporates traditional values into their care, making the whole experience feel very personal and respectful. It is a busy place because it serves people from all over the state, but the sense of heritage and the welcoming vibe make it a truly special part of the city.

I love ANMC, I have a wonderful Dr here and another Dr saved my life here when I was a kid. 1 year after my mom passed away, I had oral surgery here and she visited me in a dream when they put me to sleep. I enjoyed working here too, I love visiting the nurses and cnas here’

Had all three of my babies here, love the staff, had a natural birth and two C sections the doctors/surgeons did a great job. Nurses tended to all my needs and made sure I was taken care of and informed. Great resources, good food, clean rooms and facilities. 10/10 will recommend this establishment!

Today there was a fire drill. The lights began flashing and staff quickly got everyone ready for the stairs well. I being someone on crutches from surgery 3 weeks ago couldn't make it down the stairs not in a timely manner that is. The staff in 3 east were very quick to get a chair and efficiently got me down the stairs in less than 10 minutes safely. We all huddled in the parking garage. The staff was completely supportive the whole time!! Im absolutely impressed. Im a good 230lbs. We shared a lot of laughs and jokes on the way down. 3 east you guys are fantastic! Appreciate every last person who helped me and made the process less stressful.

I want to start by expressing my sincere appreciation for the Emergency Department staff”they were outstanding in every way. Their professionalism, compassion, and efficiency deserve a full five stars. However, our experience in the ICU was deeply disappointing and concerning. My partner was admitted for pneumonia and spent several days in the ICU, during which time we noticed serious lapses in patient care and professionalism. Staff rarely checked on her regularly unless family members were present. When she needed assistance with basic needs, such as using a portable commode, it often seemed to inconvenience the staff. On multiple occasions, she felt forced to unhook herself from monitoring equipment to use the restroom”something that should never happen in an intensive care setting. Adding to our concern, a physician made an inappropriate comment, telling her she was too young to be on 8 liters of oxygen. Such a statement was not only unprofessional but also deeply insensitive. Patients come to the ICU for treatment and support, not judgment. We will be reaching out to hospital administration and the Joint Commission regarding this incident, as the issues we witnessed reflect systemic problems in ICU bedside manner, patient respect, and follow-up care. We urge the hospital to review these concerns seriously and take corrective action”through staff training, patient care audits, and accountability measures”to ensure no other patient experiences the same neglect or disrespect.

I took my boyfriend to the er in the middle of the night. All of the staff were kind and compassionate. Nurses and the PA checked on him with care and showed empathy. They explained things really well and gave me an opportunity to ask any questions I had. The only thing I feel would be better for situations where someone is staying with a patient all night, would be for better chairs, these chairs were so uncomfortable, there wasn’t any chance to catch any sleep as the visitor. The following day I had sore muscles and a crank in my back.

Always like taking my families or friend here for help. Staff is almost always 100% courteous and kind. It's a very large campus, so most of us need help to find some of the speciality clinics.

ICU nurses were amazing. Infectious Disease doctor was arrogant and clueless. Lead neurologist was useless as well.

Pretty frustrating have to wait over 2 weeks for a phone appointment just for them to tell me the results from my heart monitor that they had me wear for 2 weeks after waiting almost 3 weeks from the time I sent it out of state for them to read results. I'm trying to not think about it but it's stressing me after having heart problems for over 2 years and they can't tell me what's wrong. ™ I'm feeling pretty hopeless

When I went to the Emergency Room on April 6. I had the very best Doo tors , right there. Dr Hunt , Doctor Toni Capucino & Doctor Bosch. They figured out what was going on right away. I was then placed in the Jody for the desperate treatment of the diagnosis. The In-Patient Staff ; The RNs, CMA , CNA we’re absolutely fabulous. They all worked as a TEAM. Thank you all so very much. I will always be great full. Sincerely, Theresa Derrick

I recently had to escort my sister into ANC for a surgical procedure. We were placed in patient housing and I am pleased with most everything regarding patient housing and it’s amenities to include food service. There could be food items with less sugar or better options for people who don’t want high sugar items. Otherwise the room is decent, service up front is fast and mostly efficient! I am so happy with the pleasant experience and it’s nice to see our people are treated with respect and cared for these days. Of course the ER is whole different animal but this positive review is in regards to patient housing.

The new ANMC is great for a Hospital. The old ANMC was a old Army building. Glad it gone now. The new ANMC is reported to be latest state of the art hospital. I myself owe my life to doctors at ANMC. Twice I was airlifted there near death the doctors did there job I am still amongst the living thanks to ANMC and the doctors that worked there. I got to add both of the above incidents was at the old ANMC.

I walk long distances weekly, in doing so I injured my Left foot. A bone spur is a painful addition to my condition. Dr told me to make sure I rest, I will. I came to the hospital, not many people. I was assessed quickly, then immediately sent to Fast Track. It has been a long time since I've been there. My nurse Sara was so Kool and amazing. My Dr was Kool too, x-rays were taken and my time there was relatively short. Good news was nothing was broken. The whole time there was like visiting old friends. I compliment every one for professionalism. Also I am impressed with the amazing up grade to all areas of the hospital. Thank you so much!
