This facility accepted my sister for a rehab stay, so I went to check it out. I immediately had reservations after my first two phone calls to schedule the appointment. After the first attempt, no one picked up the phone in the middle of the day. Later when I tried again, I was told I had to call a different number to talk with the Admissions representative. I had to use the hospital case worker to finally get in touch with them. When I stepped into the actual facility to tour, it was like stepping back into the 90's when I had started in the field of senior care. The receptionist was polite, but had boxes stacked behind her desk. While I was waiting for the Admissions person to step out of morning meeting, all I could hear was the receptionist at her desk eating something loudly and crunching and smacking her lips while doing so. I watched staff members walking by in all manner of dress and headwear, none of them seeming to show much urgency in what they were doing. When I was taken back to be shown the room my sister would be staying in, I noticed that the LVT in the hallway was chipped and missing pieces here and there. I was shown a run-down semi-private room where, after apparently removing some shelves, no wall repairs had been done, leaving the wall badly scarred and wires hanging down from the TV above. The Admissions person saw my concern and admitted they did not currently have a Maintenance Director, stating, "We're doing the best we can". I also pointed out that the Jack and Jill bathroom arrangement would not work for my sister because she was on contact precautions due to a case of ESBL. She looked surprised and said, "huh, I guess I'll need to look into that", even though the facility has received all of my sister's medical information at that point. In my opinion the room was not habitable and should not have been presented for lease. When I looked at the the rehab gym, the view out to the marina was beautiful, but the space was tiny and the equipment looked liked something acquired at area garage sales . The Admissions rep said, "It doesn't look like much, but it gets the job done". I was amazed that this facility had received a deficiency-free survey. To most survey teams , the condition of the floors, room walls, and most of the door frames would have prompted citations related to infection control and resident dignity. Fortunately, we have found an alternative rehab facility that is simple but clean, in good repair, professional, and well equipped to serve my sister. This facility needs help from their Home Office group to create a better experience for its residents/rehab patients. Don't they deserve it?

Mitzy, Sheila and Marsha have been an amazing, caring team in facilitating the transfer of my sister Diane to Aspire from the Elance memory care assisted living. Mitzy literally packed her up and moved her in from Elance. Mitzy stayed in communication every day with family until we could get there from out of state. Sheila the director of nursing was very reassuring with her understanding of my sisters needs both medically and cognitively. Marsha the administrator was very hands on and warm and facilitated so many details with Medicaid and all the administrative things that needed to be done to bring this move to fruition. Every staff member seemed know my sister's needs like they had known her for a long time when it was actually only a week. Thank you to all of these angels.

This facility and their staff are a rare gem by the sea. The staff really go above and beyond to make the residents feel safe and well cared for. The staff are super friendly and supportive.

Well no one's answer my call light after hour of waiting 1:48 pm on June 29th while I hear miss ghetto ghetto once again yelling at residents how is she employed here is beyond me just last week she walks in my room while I'm on the phone which took my boy everything not to call up here hearing me argue with her about grabbing my caffe cup without asking me saying is "old" you don't want it... excuse me it's not old is mine I do want it! She kept going I had to get so upset I never ever cuss anyone I respect all staff I try to be humble and change but she the first to bring me out of character she's too much! Plus she's a thefts however that's another subject! I just don't get how you want to run a great facility with the wrong people! I seriously feel bad for those that deal with more than me I'm sure I don't see even a quarter that goes on! This ain't it, Do better! On the other hand I do think the administrator is great! She is new here trying to do what she can! I just don't think all workers have the same spirt or professionalism! And the two new review as resident here I honestly think it's fabricated! Eitherway make the best decision before coming here! Definitely before going to room 16! Man has a terrible odor do to lack of equipment for showers he need and also younger than most! I'm sure you don't want to deal with that! Happy 4th of July from me to you all.

The location and views are great at Aspire at the Sea! The administrator and nurses take an interest and great care for the residents there. Social services does as well. I am excited to see what the future holds for this facility!
