I recently lost my mom at Accolade in Pontiac, and even though her time there was short and mostly spent on hospice, I can’t say enough about how incredible the staff was during such a difficult time. They showed compassion, patience, and kindness not only to my mom but to me and my family as well when we needed it most. In moments that felt overwhelming, they brought comfort and peace in ways I’ll never forget. Sarah Harder went above and beyond making my mom feel loved and beautiful doing her nails and hair and just sitting and talking to her for an hour or more at times. I ESPECIALLY want to recognize Kathy, her nurse, who was truly amazing throughout the entire process. Her kind words keep popping up in my mind. She showed genuine love and care for my mom and me all the way until the very end. She made an incredibly painful experience a little easier to bear, and that meant more than I can put into words. Kathy is an absolute gem, and she deserves all the good in life. I will never forget the care my mom received from her.

My Dad needed placement for skilled nursing immediately. Accolade did everything they could to get him in. We had a room in the afternoon. The admission staff was professional and kind. The only thing I was disappointed in was a nurse that did not really seem to care and told me she had been there quite a few years. Not enough CNAs. There was a dietary employee by the name of Cody. He made sure my Dad had all his dietary needs and really list. He was kind and even made exception to his needs. Overall a good place. They take time to be very accommodating. Thank you Acvolate for getting my Dad in so quickly

Moving my grandfather from assisted living to a retirement home was a daunting endeavor for us. We had countless questions swirling through our minds as we researched and made phone calls to find the perfect fit for my beloved grandfather. We were paying out of pocket, so we had the right to be picky with our choice. Kaitlyn from Accolade visited my grandfather in person at his assisted living facility to explain the care he would receive and answered our questions. We liked that she took the time. We were consistently impressed with the level of care, quality, and exceptional communication throughout the process. The nurses were not only kind but also proactive in their approach. If they couldn't answer a question, they promptly found someone who could. This level of transparency and prompt action instilled a sense of security. The sweet nurses quickly informed us about urgent matters, demonstrating their commitment to his care. The nurses went above and beyond; at times, my mother would visit and find one of the nurses spending quiet time with him. When the need arose, they arranged for hospice care on-site, and the service was equally exceptional. We were genuinely impressed with choosing Accolade as my grandfather's last home. The exceptional service they provided surpassed our expectations and left us feeling satisfied with our choice.

I recently had my Aunt place at the Accolade in Pontiac. Katlyn the Admittance administrator was very helpful and professional in getting my Aunt admitted into the facility. The Nursing staff as well as all the other employees have been helpful and attentive to my Aunts needs. The facility was clean and decorated in a very comfortable manner. This was a wonderful place to recover from a fall! Everyone was wonderful, no one ever made me feel like I was a bother when I would ask for something. All the nurses and CNAs were just fantastic! Physical therapy people were awesome, making sure I didn't overdo things and being so encouraging.. Everybody in management was so nice to me and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. Activities kept me busy with games, crafts, and exercise classes. My only complaint was the food really needs some work. Some things were really good but some things were darn near impossible to eat. They kind of need to learn how to add seasonings to food, give it some flavor. That was the only bad thing I could think of to say. I really had a wonderful experience there and will miss staff and residents who became friends. I highly recommend Accolade for long or short term care to anyone looking for a good place to stay and/or recover. A++ in my book! Thank you all!!

My Dad was admitted about a month ago and i can't say enough about the staff and how my dad has been treated. Kaitlyn and Kenzie are some of the staff that ive dealt with and have been amazing along with Malerie. Just want to say thanks for being so great!

My mother went to Accolade Healthcare in Pontiac IL. for rehabilitation , after a brief stay in the hospital. Kaitlyn is the transitional coordinator and was very nice and helpful with information about my mom's stay. The director , activity director , and kitchen director all came in room to make sure my mom was satisfied and if she needed anything , after she was there for a few days , mom's reply [ everything was great , wouldn't change a thing ] . When mom was discharged she wanted to say bye to the staff and thank them for their help. Great place with wonderful people.

I have spent time at all the three local nursing homes in the rehab area. This place is the best. It exceeded my expectations. The staff that took care of me. They were excellent. I’m not going to name anyone in particular because I’ll leave someone out. But the regulars, especially that took care of me most of the time were just super and we got along great. The food I had was also great and if I wanted to substitute off the every day menu, it was possible. I even got seconds one day thanks to my CNA. My therapy department was excellent helping to get me back on my feet. The only glitch was trying to get my medicines properly because I have so darn many . Once again, this is the place to go. It seems like I use the word excellent a lot, but it is well deserved.

Only 4 stars at this time because it has only been a week. My brother is new to this facility after suffering a stroke. I was looking for a place for him to be comfortable in and receive the therapy that he needs. My brother said he likes it there. I have to say, Kaitlyn, the Admissions Director, goes above and beyond providing information and taking time to answer All of my concerns. She is a very Down to Earth, likeable person. I feel very comfortable with choosing this facility.

We found Accolade to be SUPER while caring for our 97 year old Mom. It's clean and it's got a very homey and cozy feel. But what really made us feel good were the Staff: they are so friendly, so warm and helpful. They seemed HAPPY. They greeted us (by name most times), we're always willing to stop what they were doing to answer our questions. Mom is coming home on Hospice now but we would have no apprehensions if she had stayed longer. The front desk ladies, the Social Worker, nurses, cnas, and dietary works, even the cleaning people get 10 "stars" from us for the genuine human kindness they showed Mom and us. BRAVO, Accolade!

Had a great experience at Accolade, when I had my knee replacement surgery. All of the staff, from the nurses & CNAs, therapist & the kitchen staff, are very caring & friendly. The facility is very clean & I felt very comfortable there. Will be going back, after my other knee replacement.

Rarely have I seen an example of new management resulting in such a drastic improvement. Having a parent in Accolade, entering right before the current staff took over and the name change occurred, I've seen a night-and-day improvement in the care my mother has received and the running of the establishment in general. From the CNAs, to the nurses, to the janitorial/maintenance staff, to the kitchen staff, and all the way up to the management, this entire care facility has really stepped up their game. Even when my mother became difficult to work with for a period of time, the employees of Accolade held fast and got her to a point where she is now content with her stay. No dismal waiting-for-death's-sweet-release atmosphere pervades THIS facility, with activities available frequently and a patient, positive, and capable staff on hand to make sure your beloved elder's physical, mental, and nutritional needs are met. They are also fantastic at helping guide one through the mental labyrinth of bureaucracy and paperwork that can seem so intimidating for those of us who are unfamiliar with either the legal aspects or the medical terminology involved. The dark shadow of the Asta Care days fade into obscure memory with this new era of proper management, building renovations, and spot-on elder care. I have no regrets about placing my mother in Accolade and wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommended it to others looking for a care facility where their loved one won't feel they've been shoved into a windowless rabbit hutch and stored like a warehouse product. Other facilities may cost more, and I've had elder family members in them as well, but the quality of care is no better than it is at Accolade. 5 stars given without reservation.
