Kim is my Occupational Therapist at Acute Rehabilitation of Plano. She is helping me recover from very a difficult right hip replacement. It started out immediately as a much more difficult recovery than my other hip. With her skilled and compassionate help I am making great progress. Trying to do this with in home therapy would have been impossible. The in-patient care that I am receiving has been top notch. The Doctors are attentive and caring too which helps a lot.

Our father came here after a hemorrhagic stroke ” barely able to wake up for therapy and needing max assistance with everything. Over our stay, this team helped him stand, take his first steps (a major milestone!), find his voice, and smile ” huge progress, thanks to a team that pushed him as much as he could take and never gave up on him. The people here are genuinely friendly and caring ” they check in often, make us laugh, and celebrate every step. Our dad is dominantly Viet-speaking, and we were so touched by how openly the team learned Viet words to connect with him. After a total knee replacement, I was told that I would able to go home by that evening or possibly spend the night if I chose. I was physically unable to go home the next day and transported to an outpatient rehabilitation hospital. We selected Acute Rehabilitation Hospital because of it's excellent reputation in Physical Therapy. While in the hospital for two weeks I received extensive Physical Therapy for 3 to 4 hours each day. The Physical Therapy staff was very professional , empathetic, compassionate even while urging me to push me forward each day. When choosing an outpatient facility for physical therapy I chose to stay at Acute Rehabilitation due to the Physical Therapists and staff's professionalism, expertise and also specialized equipment The staff had invested much time and interest to ensure I went back to my active lifestyle. Their ability to chart a specialized and individualized plan for myself and each patient so that each person regardless of age and situation to get back to doing the things that make our lives so full.

WOW.... where do I start. I had back surgery at Methodist hospital and the social worker gave me a list of rehab facilities, but commented that she put the best choices first. Acute rehab was the first on the best list. After family discussion we chose Acute. Let me tell you i couldn't be more happier that we did. Every team member from every department where focused on my improvement. I never had a bad experience from anyone. The PT and OT where awesome. I had therapy 6 days a week and worked with different technicians, that knew exactly what I needed to work on, and help me through each session. I've made great improvements in the 10 days I spent there, so much so that I decided to continue my therapy as a out patient with the same Great staff of Acute. I was a patient at Acute Rehab Hospital for 10 days, and am now continuing PT (with Victor) as an outpatient. I was greeted and welcomed when I first arrived, and all care-givers were very attentive and caring, especially emphasizing my safety. Even the meals were good! Extra snacks were always available if asked. Therapists are knowledgeable, professional, and personable, and give the feeling that they enjoy their work and seeing each patient’s progress. I highly recommend this facility for anyone needing this kind of medical service.

Acute Rehabilitation Hospital {Plano TX} was amazing for me as I was recovering from major open-heart surgery. Everyone staff member was fantastic including case workers, nurses, aids, PT, OT, dietician, and housekeeping. They offered a rigorous Physical therapy approach that I was welcomed to because of their encouragement and consistent appreciation for my efforts. Of course I had pain during the exercises, however, the care that they provided was essential towards my recovery. Being an Open-heart surgery Patient was excellent as the PT/OT team was always quick to act on my pain and other diagnosis that they could assist with. I wanted to recognize as many professionals as I could, however I couldn’t remember all of those wonderful names so these are the valued professionals whom I remember. Case worker Marci for working with my daughter to coordinate my stay. PT/OT Kathy, Michaela/ Mickie, Kim, Victor, Arthur, TeTe, Natalie and some others that I can’t remember, Nurses Lorean, Maria, Crystal, Kekna, Sini, Racheal, Bidhria, Joel and so many others. CAN’s Kusum, Heather, Lizzy, Alicia, William I met a lot of great people and I shared some great life experience with most of these folks. Alicia and William were my bestie as they were always eager to assist and listen Thank you for awesome skills, professionalism, and integrity. 12/4/25 They need to figure out how to manage shift changes better. I understand shift changes happen, but there’s ZERO reason why my grandma should’ve had to wait 45+ minutes to be changed (called for help at 6pm, took them 5+ minutes to even answer the call, told around 6:10pm someone would be sent. It was 6:55pm by the time someone even got to her room). The poor woman was left sitting in her own waste for near an hour! Not to mention the old man in the next room over was trying his hardest to holler for help. There were 5+ nurses sitting out in the hallways / lobby area sitting down chatting, but not a single one got up to assist us OR the man calling clearly for help. Alicia in PT is amazing though! She, and a small SMALL portion of the staff are the ONLY reason this review is even getting 2 stars, otherwise it’d be barely a 1

Acute is excellent! My brother-in-law, sister and mother were all cared for at Acute Rehab at different times. Most recently, my mother was there after having a stroke! So grateful for the amazing care provided by the nursing and therapy staff. Even the dietary staff went above and beyond to accommodate her needs. She has since transitioned to a skilled nursing and several of the Acute staff members have visited her there. There’s a reason why patients keep coming back time and time again and even do outpatient therapy there. It’s literally the best therapy team around!

This visit marks my 3rd or 4th time with Acute Rehab. I’ve had several orthopedic surgeries necessitating learning how to walk and manage mobility again. I've lengthy stays and have had superb rehabilitative care in all instances. All the aforementioned qualities describe Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano. I was admitted inpatient to Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano after surviving a traumatic motorcycle accident that left me with two fractured femurs, a shattered pelvis, fractured upper extremity, and a fractured neck and lower back vertebra.From the moment I arrived as an inpatient, the entire team”nurses, therapists, techs, doctors, and support staff”treated me with not just professionalism, but compassion and hope. The staff didn’t just care for me, they believed in me, even when I had doubts about life and ever walking again. I was neither viewed as nor treated as a "number"--I was seen, heard, and supported every step of the way--from my room to the recovery room where the rehab was intense but tailored exactly to my needs. The staff celebrated my smallest milestones to continue encouragement. I had a choice when I was discharged: elect in-home therapy services or continue my rehab at Acute as an outpatient. There was no choice in truth, as my family and I knew my best chances at recovery were with Acute. I still return to Acute for therapy as an outpatient. Every visit reminds me why I am thankful beyond words for Acute. My legs are rebuilding, I'm walking again, and are ahead of schedule. I'm working toward full independence, and I credit the men and women at Acute for laying the foundation. There are too many staff members to name to say thank you, but a few that immediately come to mind that are owed more than a thank you include but are not limited to: Dr. Fig, John, Jacqueline, Michaela, Christina, Chelsea, and Victor. My family and I couldn't recommend Acute enough. If you or a loved one are facing that rainy day with a tough rugged road of recovery, this is the place you want in your corner. Acute gave me my life back-- and I'll be forever grateful and in their debt.

I just had my very first experience with a hospitalization, subsequent surgery to repair a fractured kneecap and discharge to a rehabilitation hospital. I was fortunate enough to receive the amazing compassionate care at the Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano. The cross-disciplinary communication and teamwork exhibited in executing my care plan was exemplary! I can’t say enough about the improvement in physical and mental overall health that I have been able to achieve with the help of these dedicated professionals. Beginning with the front desk and admissions and on down the line to include my doctors, nurses, aides, occupational and physical therapists, housekeeping, kitchen staff and the many others who worked behind the scenes my experience exceeded any expectations. Before I was discharged, I inquired about outpatient physical therapy and was thrilled to find out that service was available. I have since been continuing with regular sessions and am making wonderful progress. My sincere gratitude goes to Kathy, Victor, John, Ian, Kim, Maisha, Michaela, Pam, Vicki, Dr. Figueroa, and his team & the too numerous to name nurses & aides who took care of me during my stay. This rehab hospital has been a great choice for my dad’s recovery. While the food is okay, they have been extremely accommodating to his vegetarian and Jain dietary needs, which we really appreciate. What truly sets this place apart is the level of care and dedication from the staff. They provide several hours of physical therapy each day”something that wouldn’t have been possible if he were recovering at home. They are also very attentive to his medications, ensuring everything is managed properly and that there are no complications. I had knee surgery in October and it wasn't healing as well as hoped. I'm on a tap team and don't have time to be down! Victor has been beyond amazing. After doing outpatient PT with Victor, he had me back on the tap floor in weeks. He took the time to tailor a specific plan and is working with me on movements to get me out of modified and back to full on routines. Can't recommend Victor, this facility, and the entire team enough!

Great Rehab Hospital. Their Physical Therapy staff is top caliber and the nicest people - especially Victor. He worked with my Senior friend who fell and broke her pelvis in 2 places. He had her up and walking without the aid of a walker or cane in under 8 weeks. He gave her the confidence and therapy she needed to get back to her normal life. My grandma was recently at Acute Rehab after she broke her wrist. She is struggling with dementia and can be difficult. The therapy staff did an exceptional job with her! They were incredibly patient and personalized her care to fit her needs. The nursing staff and techs were kind, attentive, and compassionate. We thought my grandma would have to go to a nursing home after discharge, but the case management team advocated for her and were able to get her back to her memory care/home. My 92 year old Mother was in Acute Rehab to address mobility issues as a result of her heart failure and afib and a few other issues. The physical therapy staff was able to assist and encourage especially McKala. Multiple doctors also addressed issues ongoing. Place was clean and pleasant.

Couldn’t have chosen a better place for my rehab. Really nice people! I would have chosen any person here to work with, but Michaela is tops! Don’t want to have to come back, but if I have to come to any place, it will be here. Hope everyone will choose this place if they need help. And my PTA Michaela is the best I’ve seen, and I told my family I was thrilled to be around her. I’ve been to several other rehab facilities and this place topped my other experiences.

I highly recommend Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano. I had a stroke and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get me on the road to recovery. From the hospital staff to the PT team I just don’t think you can get better anywhere else. I wouldn’t wish my situation on any body but if you need rehab this is the place for you!

The therapy department at Acute is absolutely phenomenal! It is obvious that each therapist genuinely cares for their patients and wants to see them through achieving their goals. Acute Rehabilitation Hospital was a fantastic place to recover from surgery from a fractured pelvis. My family and friends were extremely cautious about me going to a rehab facility because of the horror stories they had heard about other places. They quickly changed their minds once they visited me. We all were first impressed by the lovely, exceptionally clean hospital. The first impression spread to all of the personnel working there - from the administrators to the doctors to the nurses to the therapists to the health care assistants and to all support staff. While there, I received 3 hours of therapy per day 5 days a week and a modified schedule on my first weekend there from an occupational therapist and a physical therapist. The therapy was challenging, and I was tired at the end of the day. BUT - that's what helped me heal so quickly. I also appreciated that I didn't have to worry about missing medications or seeing the doctors because they would find me if I was in therapy. I was impressed that each nurse and aide responded quickly and with a positive attitude when I needed assistance. Finally, the food was exceptionally good and always arrived hot because all staff members delivered trays to the patients when the trays came to the floor. I have been involved in out patient PT since being discharged. Victor is an exceptionally excellent physical therapist. He challenges me to do my best with the exercises while paying attention to my current limits. I am making great progress to accomplish my PT goals. I highly recommend Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano should you ever need a place to recover.
