Update: My life's situation has now changed and as soon as the unit I want is available I'll be moving in, can't wait!!! Recently I had a personalized tour of Asbury Place with Suzy Cloyd. I had been there once before, but I wanted to learn more and refresh my brain so to speak. A friend came with me, and she was as impressed as I was. The building is clean, welcoming, and homey. We toured an empty Adams floor plan, which is my first choice. I know where I would place furniture. The laundry room is perfect, and the kitchen has enough cabinets and storage I can keep most of my kitchen items that I thought I might have to sell. The dining area/living area is a good size and we can't forget the laundry room with washer/dryer included. Suzy took us to the dining room and told us to order anything we wanted and to order a variety of items to get a good feel for the food. We were both impressed. I had a mixed green salad followed by grilled chicken thigh, snow peas, baked potato, and a biscuit. Everything was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a ham sandwich I am a sandwich for lunch sort of gal and I did bring it home since I was stuffed from the other items. Did I forget to mention chocolate cake wow it hit the spot. I think I better go on a diet before I move to Asbury!! Many of the residents said 'hello' as they walked by us, several stopped by our table to introduce themselves. All things considered, I felt right at home. The sales team, Suzy Cloyd and Julia Cox, know their stuff, they care about Asbury Place and the residents, current and future. They both have been extremely helpful. My situation is not at the point right now that I can move but Asbury is #1 on my list and there is no #2 so when the planets align you will find me at Asbury Place in Kingsport, TN!

The staff truly understands what it's like to watch a parent decline. They are very compassionate. I am grateful for this place. It was exactly what our family needed

This is Chip! Meeting and having Suzy Cloyd take care of you was epic! She showed us our soon to be unit. We met neighbors, viewed inside and out, first visit tour with her was the "clincher". She knows what you need and delivers the essence of the facility and its value to seniors. She will be a trusted friend to my wife and I

1st Impressions matter! A couple of days ago was my introduction to the Asbury Place Team. I did not have an appointment, however, Melissa got things rolling and before I knew it I was in the presence of Suzy, Tuesday, and LeAnn! This team of caring staff was patient with all my questions, quick with solutions, and offered great ideas and suggestions. They represented AP well and are assets to the team. My aunt has been one of their independent living residents for years and I am glad she chose AP Kingsport!

I spent 20 days at the Asbury Place skilled nursing facility getting rehabilitation for a broken ankle and surgery recently. From the very first I was impressed with the friendliness and competence of the staff. Later I met the Physical and Occupational Therapists. They were a terrific group and soon I was well on my way to managing my temporary disability.

I love the staff and the nurses here. I sit with yelderly people so far this is the best place to be. Oh most like family here. Everyone is super nice and more then willing to help you. They care for your loved ones like they are family. I have sat with people at other places and the staff was not only rude to me but also to the people they we're supposed to be caring for. So if you're looking for a great place with a fantastic staff, Asbury is the place for your loved one.

Written by my husband, David Knight: We are all dealing with many issues here and in all aspects of our lives. So many associates help us in big and small ways, every day. If I tried to name them all, I would leave someone out. As "they say", you know who you are. People from administration, to dining, to maintenance, to housekeeping are there for us, not just for a paycheck. We have just read about how many have left Asbury recently. This is due to the general economic situation, not just with Asbury at Kingsport. We have been here just over four years. As two of the youngest residents, we hope and pray for many more happy years living in this caring community. We are from New Jersey, and have no desire to ever go back. Thank you for this opportunity to share our thoughts.

My mother came here for rehab and were both displeased (me more so than her I think). Mom is doing better and I'm grateful to the staff that helped make that happen but her progress was slow (partially because they went backwards in her care when she first came in), they misdiagnosis her, and there were issues with her case worker as well. Most of the staff seemed good and caring and helpful but the overall way things were run is far from perfect. Is it the worst rehab? No. Far from it. My mom was safe and cared for. But it was far from what one might want for their care, too.

Asbury Place at Steadman Hill has truly been a godsend for our family. We needed to find a place for our mom rather quickly but did an extensive online search followed by visiting assisted living facilities in person. Deciding upon Asbury Place was the best decision we could have made. I live out of state but spent some time helping my mom transition there. The common rooms are really nice and always clean, and my mom's room is spacious with a little kitchenette and large bathroom. But what stands out the most with Asbury is that each and every member of the staff is absolutely wonderful. From the administrator, and the head nurse, the techs, LPNs, food services, and maintenance, they are all incredibly caring and most competent. They go out of their way to make my mom (and all the residents) feel comfortable and secure in her new home. This was a very difficult time for our family and Asbury Place was able to reduce our stress and worries a great deal because of the care my mom is receiving there. My brother lives locally and continues to say the same things. They are amazing! I speak with my mom twice a day and her consistent message to me is "they are taking such good care of me; you don't need to worry!" She is really enjoying the food and activities also. Most of the staff has been there for years, and we see the same ones daily and they always make us feel welcome while we are there visiting. When my mother-in-law was in another AL we would see a high changeover in staff, so it was clear that they didn't really know our loved one. This makes a huge difference, and we understand that much of the Steadman Hill staff have been there for many years. They are like family. We cannot express our gratitude enough to each and every one of the staff at Asbury. It is obvious that they are happy to be there and that truly enjoy the residents and caring for them. The atmosphere is very warm, friendly and feels like a close-knit community. We are most appreciative to all the staff and will be forever grateful that they helped us when we needed it most. Asbury Place at Steadman Hill is the absolutely the best!

My aunt was there after her hip repair. Lucy made the process of getting her admitted very smooth and stress free. The therapy team was nothing but amazing. She would get so excited when she would progress and on days that she didn't they trouble shot to see how to prevent any decline. For example her pain was effecting therapy so they scheduled it an hour prior to therapy and she could do better. She could not stop going on about how good the food was there. The cook was so personal with her and treated her like family spoiling her with good treats. She made a huge impression on all of us. The aides there were hands down the best. Special thank you to some of the nurses. Like with anywhere there were some nurses that should probably not do that as a profession but the amazing nurses made up for the bad apples. Maintenance Jason is a huge asset too. He made sure her room was taken care of and had a great personality to go with it. Thank you all so much and if you want your family to progress in rehab this is the place to g

The place was extremely nice. The nurses cared for our father well. However, the social worker was HORRIBLE!! There was very little communication. They did not do a care plan with the family within the first few days like they were supposed to. There were some other communication issues that we had with them regarding his health. They failed to contact us about. They also failed to contact us when they moved our father from their facility to another facility in Johnson City. Social worker put in notes that she attempted to reach us which is a BOLD LIE!!!! We go to the facility to see our dad and he was no longer there!! We get told by the nursing staff that he was moved. The social worker needs to get her stuff together and act like a legit social worker!!!

Great for residents, terrible for employees. Do not work here if you can help it. The nursing department is treated well, as are the housekeeping, office, and kitchen staff, but please do not apply to be a caregiver. The boss over the caregivers "J" and his assistant "H" are not individuals I would wish to work for again. My coworkers kept getting back and shoulder injuries from performing as instructed on the job, yet (allegedly) when they brought doctors notes into J's office stating they either had to take a break or had to be on restrictions, they were not honored. The employees were expected to perform at the same level despite an on the job injury unless they went through worker's compensation like I did. If you must be a caregiver here, please be sure to take as good care of yourself as you do the clients. God knows your bosses will not take care of you. The caregiving department was understaffed, yet more help was not hired.

Best place to work for a long term care and Rehab facility. I have worked here 6 yrs and I honestly enjoy working there. The rehab is phenomenal and I don't say that just because I work there. I've seen hundreds of people walk out of the facility that came in unable to walk. I work 2nd sift. The employees are nice, very helpful and love taking care of their patients. It has been newly remodeled and is still under construction. Every place has its ups and downs but it really is great!
