Delmar Gardens has been incredible for my mother, Charlotte Reynolds. From the moment she moved in, the staff has made her feel at home. The facilities are top-notch and welcoming. Good at making it seem like a great place, but deff red flags, nursing has changed. I feel so bad for the families bc their loved ones are not loved or cared for correctly, understaffed and overworked. Lots of neglect and abuse. So sad to see I'm sure the owners would be disappointed. Deff need better housekeeping res rooms floors dirty, urine smells, nurses and aids disappear for hours during night and eve...don't put a loved one here( also DON means well but she doesn't even know how to do her job yet alone make the people under her enjoy the work environment. Most staff had a bad attitude. I did too but we are a team and there was none of this here. Deff burn out, and pay sucks, as well as morning shift would always complaining about something. Good luck to whoever works here.

My Mom and Dad have not been able to visit my brother in months, I know this is something my Mom always assisted Geo with cards and stamps, keeping up w- his family, far and wide @ the Holidays. Thank you for your consideration and support for all the residents @ Delmar-OP. This wasn't my 1st card this year, my Dad shared one w- me @ Mother's Day. This is such a big deal for the families, your hearts and dedication speak volumes, your passion truly revealed through your action. You two are quite a team! In March I scoured the internet for all the KC skilled nursing home reviews I could find. I felt most impressed with Delmar's visit policy + their ability to clearly articulate how they corrected their bad reviews when I asked. We then placed my grandpa there to begin his stroke recovery. We have been very impressed with Delmar. They have been extremely patient with my grandpa. He came in with little speech ability. His needs were still always met, in a timely fashion. Nilufar, who coordinates the operations, has been responsive + supportive all of the way. There have been multiple times my grandfather needed to go to the hospital unexpectedly, and Delmar has been quick to make it happen, even once at 10pm at night. So if you're like I was in March, feeling like you're trying to have to take a shot in the dark while also very concerned over the care your loved one will receive, my family's experience with Delmar has proven to me it was the right shot for us.

Our mother has been here for a few years and we are pleased with her care. The nurses, aides, administrators and all the staff care about our mom and all the residents. It has been a difficult time for everyone during these past several months, dealing with the new rules and regulations because of Covid. I feel that they have kept the family members informed and listened to our concerns with understanding and empathy. It made my heart happy to see my mom for an outdoor visit recently and she was all smiles under her mask. Thank you doesn't always seem like enough, especially when others are putting themselves at risk to care for your loved one. We do support you and appreciate all you do for our mom. We wanted to share our experience with others as another way of saying THANK YOU!!!!

They do not have any COVID cases. They cut off visitation early to keep the residents safe and I am so thankful for that. The staff is so helpful and everyone is so friendly! My Mom is in excellent care!!! I couldn't ask for a better home for Mom!!!

My Mom has been at 4 different assisted living facilities in the past year and a half. Delmar Gardens of Overland Park is by far the best place she has been. The staff is caring and professional. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The food is also good and the first place my Mom has actually liked the meals. I highly recommend Delmar.

Deeply impressed with everything! Physical and occupational therapy A+, thanks to Patti Jo, Marissa, Malcolm, and Janelle. Speech therapy was comprehensive and most enjoyable, thanks to Angela. Punctuality with medicine and personal care could not be better! Spot checking resident needs from administration - excellent! They always wanted to know how I was doing. The cheerfulness of administration, nursing, therapy, and aides could not have been better! Attentiveness of dining room service was exceptional. The atmosphere was comfortable and most beautiful! The building is well cared-for and clean! I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs long term care in the future! The activities are wonderful - great music! Complaint: one tough pork chop

we looked at 10 different nursing homes before choosing this one for my mother-in-law. the staff are caring, and the facility is very clean. offers plenty of activities for residents. casino trips, store outings, lunch trips , happy hour, ice ceam socials ,music, poker. on site hairdresser,nail polishing and much more. the activities crew are outstanding. the social workers are very nice and effective. every facility has a bad egg or two ,but most of the staff are pleasant and helpful. our experience this past year has been mostly positive. medical and dental care sometimes is slow in a non acute situation,that might have more to do with the medicaid system, but for the most part, i would rate this facility a 8 out of 10. they just took on a new director, so we will see if the facilty stays within proper standards. i give a good review up to this point, but as we all know, one cannot predict future behaviors . if you are considering placing a loved one in any facility, being involved, staying in contact and visiting frequently is highly recommended.
