The entire staff at CSL Bel Air is amazing. They truly make this a special place. My mom was a resident in both assisted living and memory care. Everything is immaculately maintained and the attention to detail and genuine care that goes into the healthcare, meals, activities and family events is consistently evident. We were so fortunate to have CSL recommended to us and I am grateful for the incredible care Mom received here. Jody was amazing at responding to questions and keeping me up to date with health issues. Every staff member knew Mom and could let me know how she was doing that day. Everyone treats your loved one and you like family and so much goes into engaging the residents and making the most of every day.

I cannot express my gratitude and praise enough for Commonwealth and the whole staff there. My dad has been a resident for about 5 months. They have restored my faith in elder care after absolutely horrific experiences at local rehab/long term care facilities. Jody, Colleen, and all the staff act as true professionals and take great care of all the residents. I was finally able to relax and trust my dad was cared for like their own family. This is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it. It’s smaller than some others and I think that allows for more hands on and personal touch for the residents and their families.

Both parents moved into Commonwealth in January of 2022. From the moment we walked in to take our tour, we knew this would be "home." Commonwealth offers love, care and attention to all residents but the individual care is second to none. Everyone is so helpful - Colleen (director), Jody (resident care), Clinton (building maintenance), Mary and Sandy (activities) and Fabian (superior cook) make one amazing team as they lead residents in the daily routine. Jamica, Rhonda, Kai, Stacey and so many others are the glue that keeps everything running smoothly with resident care. The love and compassion shown to my mom during her health decline from breast cancer until the day she passed was stellar. The support shown to my dad and the rest of our family means so much and has helped us cope with her loss. Dad remains at Commonwealth where he continues to thrive. My family feels so fortunate to have been able to call this place "home" for our parents. Check them out for a tour!

My sister has been at Commomwealth in BelAir, MD for the past 14 months. The fellow residents that she has befriended is testimony, to the strong family bond that has formed. Although she was a bit shy at first, she has really come out of her shell. I can honestly say that she looks forward waking up and mingling with, not only the residents, but the staff members as well. The staff are very caring and they keep a close eye on each resident. Everyone at Commonwealth was extremely helpful and accommodating during the move process. My grandmother settled in very well and is extremely pleased with her entire experience there. She receives consistently high quality care, timely attention to any needs that arise, and enjoys great food selections and wonderful activity programming. The family events are always fun and well attended. The staff take their jobs of caring for this vulnerable population very seriously, and as their motto states they do the right thing. Communication is abundant and I have never had trouble reaching folks when needed. I wish there were more than 5 stars - Commonwealth would get them all.

I cared for Mom and Dad for many years and over time knew what gave them happiness and cause for concern, I learned their preferences and catered to them as much as possible. How could anyone care for them in the way they deserved and in the way that gave my family peace of mind? Our saving grace and answer to prayer was the team of caregivers and staff at Commonwealth Senior Living in Bel Air. I have no regrets for having my parents spend their last years in their care. My Mom became a resident at Commonwealth Senior Living about a month ago. She is so happy there. She is constantly talking about how kind and helpful everyone is. She just goes on and on how wonderful everyone treats her. She is just starting to get out of her room during the day and meeting other residents. She was so used to being alone. Her table mates are wonderful. Every staff member always greets Mom and the family with a smile and a warm Hello. It is such a comfort knowing Mom is safe, well cared for and happy.

We went to visit our friend who was celebrating his 101st birthday! The facility was clean and homey. What impressed me most was no smells and if you've been to a nursing home you know What I mean. Small and very personable facility. The care is top notch. My Mother-in-law was moved there just a few months ago, and is much happier than she was at the previous facility she was in. Commonwealth Senior Living is a beautiful assisted living facility that closely resembles one’s own home. Rather than a large grand-hotel style senior facility serving numerous residents, Commonwealth is much smaller and more home like. It is very tastefully decorated throughout and most of the resident rooms have large corner windows for viewing the outdoors, well laid out bathrooms and efficient small kitchen-type areas. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. Certainly a top choice.

My mother came to Commonwealth Senior Living 1 1/2 yrs ago. I chose this place because it was on one floor-no elevators and small enough so she would not feel overwhelmed. The staff treated her like family. They really cared about her. I always felt welcomed when I came to visit which was frequently. The nurse, Jody, always communicated with me if there was a concern and always returned my calls and texts immediately. There were many activities for mom to join in if she wished and my mother made some good friends. The place was always very clean and decorated beautifully especially on holidays. The staff organized many fun family events that the grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed. Like the Easter Egg Hunt. My granddaughter enjoyed visiting my mother and playing at a center set up for the children. They could play dolls or color together. I really felt this was a good fit for my mom. She had dementia and this was the next best thing to being home.

This post may be best suited for their website, but I am posting it here for their use if they choose to do so. December four years ago my sister, Irma Disney, became a resident of Greenfield Assisted Living of Bel Air, which now is Commonwealth Assisted living of Bel Air. Staff members remained the same with the change. When a family member becomes unable to care for themselves, they have several options. The only option that we had was to find a nice, home-like, facility where she would have 24/7 and the care she needed. After looking at several of these facilities, a perfect one was found for her. That's right, Commonwealth Assisted Living of Bel Air. She agreed to take the chance and we moved her into their care and we were not disappointed. I personally suggest if anyone is looking for a place where their loved one could really make it their last home, they should visit Commonwealth and speak with them. That's all you have to do. My sister died on Dec. 5 in her private suite at Commonwealth. The caregivers had their hands full with her at times, but they were very patient and took good care of her under the direction of Jody Snyder, the Director of Nursing. Jody is a very caring individual for the residents and also the families of the resident and always available with the answers needed. It takes a very special person to care for the elderly and she is definitely one of them. The Activities Director, Mary Mathis, is always doing wonderful activities for the residents and she was very helpful to me. Clinton, the Director of Maintenance, is there to change a light bulb or to move a piece of furniture for the resident Ask him and he can do it. He made my sister's last days a little brighter and she adored him. She depended on him to always help her with something. A Special thanks to these three people from me. I have only mentioned a few, but all of the staff and caregivers are great and I appreciate all of them and thank them for the work they do and the care that they gave to my sister and to the care that they continue to give to others.

Dear Colleen, Jody (and team), Thank you so much for all you have each done to make Mom and Dad’s move to Commonwealth Senior Living at BelAir as easy and seamless as possible (especially when dealing with all of rehab issues that we have both dealt with). Your staff is warm, welcoming and competent and immediately made dad (and of course us), feel like part of the family and helped ease the burden that this type of typically difficult transition can be. I have to tell you both that a simple thing like helping dad use the toilet 3 times his first afternoon made a typically quiet, introverted and independent man exclaim, I feel almost independent. What a thrill to go into the bathroom and use the toilet! (Of course that made me realize what dignity the rehab facility had stolen from him making him use a urinal and diaper for almost 6 weeks). Dad’s dinner tray was then brought to his room shortly thereafter and he again was so excited that it tasted so good and was the exact right consistency for him to handle! He said, This is excellent! Tell the pur©er that it couldn't have been done any better! So we did! (Jim, Ronnie and Sue, thank you for your extra time, effort and persistence in finding a texture that dad can swallow!(THAT has been life-saving)!! And Colleen, who would have thought that a little thing like knowing some of the same people and streets in Shamokin, Pa. could make such a difference in someone’s day! And Fran, the visiting nurse’s gentle touch and warm, friendly, caring way touched him as well. I saw joy on dad’s face several times and my heart was warmed! Never underestimate the power and effect of any of the seemingly little things that you do on a day to day basis and think that it’s just your job. You are encouraging your staff and residents, making the quality of their lives better, reducing fear, anxiety and loneliness and helping families at the same time. Your hard work and dedication are not going unnoticed. Our whole family thanks you from the bottoms of our hearts! Just as I was ready to post this note on your website, we visited dad’s room, and he spontaneously started praising his care team, Rhonda and Jen (who he affectionately called Rhonda’s rangers, who bathed him, answer his bell before the red light even goes off and even come in to see if I need anything or want a cup of coffee between my calls. He said that he calls this place, Rhonda’s Wonderland!When I told him I was going to post my thank you note on the website, but would take our name’s out, he said, They can use my name for anything associated with this place! His comments and excitement said it all and gave us peace! Thanks again staff! Sue

Mom and I selected Greenfield in Bel Air after looking at many locations in our area. It was a decision that we never regretted. The most important aspect of her care was the was the staff and caregivers. They are a truly caring and capable team. The activities are appropriate and well spaced, the building is always clean and well maintained. The food - plentiful and designed to fit the needs of many different tastes and requirements. In her final days and hours, our family could not have asked for a more special time and atmosphere - in her own bed, with excellent medical support, and peaceful surroundings. This is a place I would choose for myself when the time comes for me to need this kind of support system.
