My mom stayed at the assisted living at Avalon for a respite stay and she keeps telling everyone about how kind people were to her there. She was in such good hands, we could tell from talking to her on the phone, from the caring and thoroughness of the intake nurse, from the genuine care of their admissions, and from beautiful and clean updated facility including her room. One serving person even brought her flowers when she was leaving! Thank you Avalon!

A Positive Rehab Experience for My Mother My mother was recently a rehab patient at Avalon Springs, where the nurses, caregivers, and staff were consistently kind, attentive, and responsive to her needs. Penny, head nurse of the Rehab to Home program, was outstanding and kept me regularly informed about my mother’s progress. Billie in Administration was also a wonderful resource and a genuinely kind person. Mom has nothing but praise for the therapists, who worked diligently with her and helped her regain the strength and confidence to get back on her feet. The food was delicious, and my mother thoroughly enjoyed her meals during her stay. She is now home and living her best life, thanks to the wonderful care she received at Avalon Springs.

I had hip replacement surgery in April 2026 and this is where I came from my rehab and I could not have been more pleased or happier. The food was great the care was wonderful the physical therapy was awesome my only complaint was the most uncomfortable bed that I had in the whole wide world. I would highly recommend Avalon Springs for anything that you have to get done as far as rehab is concerned the care was expertise. My insurance covered 100% of everything

This is a review of PT. I ASKED FOR MALE THERAPIST as my wife doesn't respond to female as well as males for what ever reason. She has only seen male maybe 4 times out of 37 days and she shows little progress in my eyes. They do what ever they wish, as a outsider I don't believe they look at the interest of the patient and wishes of the family.

Here’s a problem with these reviews by employees, the reviews that were put on here for my employees were part of a quid pro quo,meaning they get drawing tickets to win prizes at their monthly parties if they do these type of reviews. So honestly all they really are as falsified documented reviews put on by management.

My mom was here for rehab after her fall, I couldn't of asked for better help. The communication was great with staff and they were very friendly. My mom actually liked it there. She is an amazing cook, makes the best meatloaf and she actually liked the food. I don't think I would ever go to another facility. I highly recommend Avalon Springs.

My mother is making good progress at Avalon Rehab facilities in Valparaiso. That is not an easy accomplishment for an 81 year old person that suffers from a slow and steady terminal disease while experiencing health issues complicated by COVID. In her own words, her experience far exceeds expectation for places like this. I am treated with dignity and care and kindness from everyone here. Staff members are so kind and helpful to each other and their goal is to make you happy and content with their care. Everyone always smiles and greet you and you feel so welcome and well cared for. The fact that each of them are courteous to each other is so helpful. The nurses are kind and try to make you as comfortable as possible. This is a great place to have rehabilitation because there are some quality people working to get you better every day. I like the food. I like the room and I like the cleanliness of the whole place. So glad I am here to recover from my hospital visit with Covid.

My mother was in the Valparaiso facility for about a month. She received excellent care. The staff I met were friendly and seemed to have a bond with my mother. A couple of the staff, Kathy and Maddy, seemed to go the extra bit to include me in the routine of my mother, even though I live four hours away. In 2024, both my dad and stepdad spent multiple stays in the rehab section of Avalon Springs Health Campus in Valparaiso. I highly recommend this facility due to the exceptional quality of care provided by the entire staff, including aides, nurses, housekeeping, dining services, activities coordinators, and rehabilitation staff. When a loved one requires short-term, 24-hour care after a hospital stay, you want to feel confident that they are receiving the best care and, most importantly, are safe. Beyond experiencing the rehabilitation center firsthand, I also toured Avalon Springs Legacy, their memory care unit, while exploring options for my dad, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s. We were impressed by the facility, the engaging activities designed to keep residents active, and the overall home-like atmosphere they created. Additionally, I toured the Assisted Living facility as a potential option for my stepdad. The recent renovations made the space feel warm and inviting. In the end, neither my dad nor stepdad moved into Legacy (memory care) or Assisted Living due to personal circumstances. However, if circumstances had been different, we would have had full confidence in choosing either option for them.

My Mother-in-law has been in the assisted living at Avalon for 6 months now. She enjoys it and we have also enjoyed it. The staff that we have encountered, have all been very pleasant and helpful. Billie is a staff member that is amazing and goes above and beyond. The food, activities and outings have been enjoyed by my Mother-in-law also. We have had a positive experience at Avalon.

This is a great and clean facility with attention to detail. The therapy staff is the best in the region and the food is so well made. The housekeeping staff cleans so well!! They pay attention to details and keep the environment safe and clean. And the nurses are very caring and make you feel like you're at home.

Avalon Springs is one of the best facilities around this area. They have the best staff and have an awesome therapy department that will work to get you or your loved one better. First impressions count and when you walk in you’re greeted the environment smells good and is clean. They have different food and drink options and many activities including happy hour and themed meals. Everyone is going the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable and memorable has possible. Avalon Springs goes above and beyond in so many ways. From the admissions team communicating with families/giving tours to environmental services keeping everything very clean, from maintenance keeping all paint fresh and everything in working order to the variety of great food that the kitchen provides, from the care from the nurses and CNA’s of the residents like they are their own family members to the people behind the scenes doing billing, employee recruiting and MDS, finally from therapy to activities who constantly have something to keep residents busy and improve their well being. There are a lot of moving pieces that this place seems to have working like a well oiled machine. Many employees have been worked there for years, some for 10 which is a true testament to them doing so many things right.

My aunt loves the staff, the nurses, the facility atmosphere and the activities and physical therapy team. It’s incredibly clean, decorated very nice through out, there are 3 garden places to enjoy to sit. The dinning rooms are very welcoming with flowers and table clothes on the tables. The rooms are cleaned very nice, it’s a private room with a bathroom and set up nicely with a TV and very nice furniture. They are very caring of the safety of covid and give me updates. The hallways have pictures of the residence and their activities. I just became my aunts POA. But, sadly My aunt who is fed by a feeding tube because she has ALS is being Charged the same rate a person who has 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. And other treats. That means Avalon Springs is making money off of a person who can’t enjoy the dining area, the food, the social aspect of dining with other residence, or drink any coffee pop, juice. Or other treats they provide. I asked the management for a discount. My aunt is being charged a large service she can’t use. And they said everyone is charged the same on a out of pocket rate. I feel it is very unfair. That’s a lot of savings in food, food prep, and staff who provide the service. Very sadly, She may not be able to stay much longer in a place she loves paying out of pocket. Bask your cost questions before you sign.

I can not post about the care because my mother was there in January and has some dementia. We were unable to visit her and things were different then. I do know that physical therapy was excellent which is the reason for the 2 stars. Otherwise I would not have given any stars. My problem is that she left in February & is due for a refund. We have not yet seen that refund for overpayment. I have called multiple times since she left & told they were working on it.

Just found out that you can not visit anyone at Avalon Springs after 5:00. Not good for working family members, or residents who get lonely in the evening. They just seem to be concerned about convenience for staff. Should at least be open until 7:00.

FYI, because they didn't communicate this with me initially: you need to schedule appointments to see your loved one at least a week or more in advance. If I had known this at the get go, I would have done so while they were under the necessary two week quarantine period.

5 stars isn't enough for this wonderful facility! From the chef, to the hair dresser, the cleaning staff, servers, caregivers and facility dog EVERYONE was so loving & caring! The facility was clean and well kept. I could never have asked for a better place for my Nana to spend the last part of her life!

All staff members were very positive and focused on patient's recovery and well being. Questions or complaints responded to in reasonable timeframe. Having a restaurant on site a big plus for patients and visitors. Food selection and delivery service were good. Private rooms were comfortable. Therapists did an excellent job of explaining and encouraging patients. This facility offers many benefits not found in others..

Mom lived in Legacy, the memory care unit. Many of the caring staff became like family. The attention to detail and knowledge of Alzheimer's symptoms gave our family peace of mind.

Very new and updated rehab center. It's like a little town with street signs in the hallways and large public gatherings area for music, games, church or just sitting around. They use real glassware, which is a plus and they have a good choice for meals. It's was also very clean. The staff is thoughtful and helpful, but sometimes you still must advocate for your loved one.

Great place for loved ones to spend their last days. It is beautiful inside and out and staff is EXCELLENT!! My 94 mother has alzheimers and resides there.
