From the first time I contacted J&M Homecare to discuss in-home care for my dad, their service was great and their genuine care and concern was evident. Although we weren’t quite ready to begin services, Sophia, the Operations Manager, was great about staying in contact and checking on our needs. Once we were ready to start care, Karon, the Care Manager, made sure everything was in place and care started smoothly. Unfortunately, my dad only received two days of care, which he said went well, before one of the caregivers found him deceased. Someone from J&M made it a point to stay at my dad’s home until my brother was able to get there even though a police officer was also there. We appreciated their seeing things through until the end. Even though Dad’s interaction with J&M was short-lived, we are very impressed with the attention given before care started, the treatment Dad received, and the follow through after his death. We highly recommend using J&M Homecare to care for your family member or loved one.

For the past 12 months, staff from J&M Homecare Service have been spending a couple hours per day 3 days per week with my 93 year-old father. Our objective is to allow him to remain in his home and delay or avoid moving him into assisted living. Lately, as the need for greater assistance has become evident, J&M’s flexibility easily allowed us to increase to 6 hours per day 6 days per week. The additional hours and days have caused J&M to introduce additional staff into the rotation and each new team member has fit well with my father. We used this service for the past couple of years to take care of my elderly father both when he was ill (needed help at night going to bathroom and showering) and when I had to be away from home so couldn’t be his regular caregiver. They are very responsive and will send someone to do the initial intake to see exactly what type of support the client needs. They will then figure out caregiver shifts for you. They will tell you who is coming ahead of time so I never had to worry about lack of coverage. The caregivers have nearly all been excellent. We have had around 10 different ones and only had problems with one (nothing serious; just wasn’t as responsive as dad wanted). I let them know and they quickly replaced her with someone else. Just be aware they can’t do any medical procedures (e.g. PICC line antibiotics push) but can help with reminders on what medicines to take morning/night which my dad needed. Also caregiving can get expensive (especially if needed 24 hours) but they will let you know the full expenses before you commit. It was worth it to us from having peace of mind that they screen caregivers so we don’t have to. Billing was automatic by credit card so not a problem. We just got an email afterwards to verify the hours were correct. Overall highly recommend this service for caregiving services as they are very accommodating to whatever scheduling you need, whether night coverage for a couple of weeks or 24 hour coverage for a day or two. We will definitely use in the future!

They were able to send a home care specialist that provided transportation to and from the hospital and to stay with me until I could care for myself. The specialist was kind, caring and concerned with my overall well being. The specialist performed tasks such as reviewing my medications to make sure that I took the appropriate dosage on time, making sure that I didn’t fall while walking, and the preparation of meals. I've been using J&M Homecare in Stockton for a few years now (previously Visiting Angels). For the most part, all the caregivers I have been given are good, there have been a few that were not a good match for my Mom. I have recently found 2 caregivers through this agency that are excellent and a perfect match for Mom. I can't thank the Admin Staff enough for listening to my concerns and providing the best person for our situation. I will continue to use this Caregiver company in the future. The Admin Staff are caring and listen. The only con I can give is that when calling on weekends when the office is closed is a bit more of a challenge, especially when someone is needed last minute, but that is to be expected at any company. H&M Homecare enabled my sister to stay in her home, and her family to have some peace of mind. Living far from her made it difficult for us to help manage her care. Having people we could count on to check in on her, help her with shopping and chores, and get her to appointments were things that we greatly appreciated, and so did she. It also enabled her to have social contact and even enjoy playing cards again! The flexibility of the service is great as was the ability to choose which caretakers best met her needs.
