My father was in the Mifflin Center and had a very good experience. So when asked where I preferred for my husband to go, I requested the Mifflin Center. The staff are very comforting and nice. I am so happy they had an opening for him. Keep up the good work!!!!

MY MOM WAS A.NURSE Amost all her WORKING IN BOTH HOSPITALS AND NURSING carrer therfore quickly she can BECOME INDEPENDENT TRYING TO WALK AND ACCLIMATE TO AND from , also also WIRHIN THE BATHROOM ON HER OWN. Nursing care is okay but the business office isn't reliable. If you receive spousal allowance sometimes you wait 2 or 3 months to get any payment and that's after you have to call repeatedly to remind them.

My Mother has been at the Mifflin Center for about a month and we are still learning the procedures. We have had some minor issues and questions. The nurses and staff have been quick to address our questions and concerns and I feel confident they will do so in the future. The building is old and the rooms are small, but the staff respected our request for a window bed. Mom is able to sit and watch the wildlife and the weather. This gesture meant a lot to us. The people are friendly and kind. It warms my heart to hear them call my Mother by name when she is wheeling through the halls. There are activities several times a day and Mom enjoys participating in them. The gals who facilitate them are kind and patient with the residents. I appreciate the flexibility they have in allowing me to take Mom to appointments and out to lunch afterward. She looks forward to the change of scenery. It is also nice to be able to sit outside on the benches. We are looking forward to doing this more as the days get warmer.

Rehab section of this facility would get a 4 star rating from me, nursing care and communication from staff was good. As for the memory support unit, I found the exact opposite. Caregivers constantly on cell phones, yelling at residents and very questionable basic needs being met. There appears to be no dress code requirement. Most caregivers have inch long finger nails. Ancillary staff more helpful and knowledgeable than nursing staff.

My mother is currently at Mifflin Center and we have nothing but good things to say . They have been very helpful in the process and all of the staff are very nice to deal with . The place is always clean and from what I have seen the residents are well taken care of .

I went to visit my dad in the Mifflin rehab today, and all of the staff members that I encountered were very friendly. At one point I needed to find out the WiFi password for my dad to use, and the person I found was very pleasant, prompt, and helpful! The lady at the front desk was also very pleasant and helpful.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly during my visit today... from the front desk receptionists to the aide to the nurse. I had a lot of questions and they were all very helpful with their answers. My friend has a private room with a nice view and seems very comfortable. The facility was clean and tidy and warm.

My mom was a long-term care resident at Mifflin Center for over six years. The Mifflin Center employees were very caring and attentive throughout her time there. I feel as though the staff all knew my mom as an individual and took a genuine interest in her well-being. They kept me well-apprised of any changes in mom's medical condition. The activities program keeps the residents engaged and active. The one major drawback was the low quality of the food; my mom really did not like it. That is an area for improvement.

This place is awful. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is for 2 positives: the physical and occupational therapists here were amazing, and quickly helped my mom regain strength after a serious illness and a broken fibula that was repaired with a plate and screws. The therapists were very careful with her ankle and made sure she stayed non-weight bearing. The LPNs and RNs on the floor were also very good, but are sadly treated horribly by the social workers and even the manager herself. But I'll get to them shortly. Now for the negatives, which barely deserve a 1 star rating. This place still has legionella in their water. They claim they are treating it, but still have signs up in the bathrooms warning not to drink it. The food is mediocre at best. The servings are tiny, and they often run out of food for the residents so they get even less on their tray. It's often at unsafe holding temperatures, and most of the time my mom's hot food was arriving cold. Residents don't get a menu to choose from and are served the same thing. My school-aged kid gets more options from the school cafeteria, so I don't see why they can't offer a small menu each day with a couple options for each meal that residents can choose from. The CNAs are very hit or miss. Some are good, but too many suck and leave the patients sitting for 30 minutes or more before bothering to show up to help them use the bathroom or to change them, resulting in rashes and sores. There was a Covid outbreak shortly after my mom arrived, and hardly any staff was masking properly, which is inexcusable after 3 years of the pandemic. The older ladies at the front desk were beyond rude, including the front desk manager. The 2nd day I came to see my mom they had a different sign in system in place that was automated, and they yelled at me and my child because we were looking for the paper sign in sheet we used the day before. They gave me a very snippy 5 minute lecture where I tried to keep apologizing, saying I didn't know to use the machine because my mom was a new resident, and it wasn't until I flat out said I didn't appreciate their aggression over a small error that I was never informed about that they stopped and changed their tone. But even after that if you needed assistance with anything they were very rude again. The social worker assigned to my mom, who went by D, was the biggest b**** of all, and the other wasn't much better. If she bothered to show up to answer questions or to get forms from us it was a miracle, but the whole interaction would be rushed and she acted like we were the biggest inconvenience ever. She constantly gave us incorrect information about insurance, but acted like she knew everything and heaven forbid if you asked questions or for clarification! She also didn't do her job of ordering all of my mom's medical equipment when she was supposed to, which left us in a massively frustrated lurch less than 24 hours before my mom was being discharged. She was yelling at me, and even called me a "dumb b****" after I needed to escalate the situation to her manager and couldn't find the manager's office. This woman would treat my mom the same way, and it's beyond rude and disrespectful to strip a person of their dignity when they're already feeling down in a crummy situation. The supervisor manager was mediocre. She was very infantilizing to me and talked down to me just because I'm younger, and continued to do so when I explained this wasn't my first rodeo with nursing facilities and I had 3 years of experience with a different center with my dad. While she did manage to finally get the stupid social worker to do her job and even put in a rush for the medical equipment, it was incredibly off-putting being talked to and treated like a child. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are way better facilities out there that will treat you with dignity.

I'm posting this review in regards to an employee, Sky Shelgren ,at the Shillington facility. Out of the many medical places and physical rehab places that I have visited recently, both as a patient and as a visitor for other patients, I'd have to say she is of the utmost top of what she does,from her demeanor - as well as her professionalism - is the best that I've seen out of everyone I've ever dealt with in this area of expertise.. and I don't use the word expertise lighty. She has of way of dealing with people ,not making them feel like a patient or number, but like a person that matters - while still being professional. All the facilities could do well taking pointers from this employee.

While visiting a friend at Mifflin Center we were greeted at the desk as soon as we entered by a smiling, friendly and helpful staff member. The facility was clean and well maintained. The nursing staff was smiling, friendly, polite and presented as really enjoying their jobs. My friend was pleased with her treatment and care there. I would recommend this facility based on the experience I had there.

My aunt is here. I found her laying in her own filth 6 months ago. I called and am still waiting for a nurse to call me back. They were so rude to me I couldn't visit her without someone going with. It's gotten better, but it's not the cleanest place, they rarely get her out of bed, and have only recently begun doing activities with her. My cousin and I have called and complained numerous times. Nothing ever seems to get done. Not sure if they are short staffed or what. Also her room is always hot and before it was cool the other summers.

My daughter in law worked there and recommended Mifflin Center Genesis and I've known others who've been there too. We chose Genesis and things are going well. We are at the beginning of an extended stay and looking forward to continued progress and caring treatment

My grandma has been in the Mifflin Center off and on for the past few years for Rehab. Every time she was there the staff always remembered Joyce!!! January of this year she got sick and her memory was just getting worse, so now she had to stay long term. And again the nurses and the aids would remember her from the past stays . They always treated her so well!! She never complained about the staff she loved them. She has passed away on 7/17/22 and I can't thank them enough for how they treated her and myself . Wonderful nurses and aids great people !

My mother had a 5 week stay for extended medical care that could not be provided in the hospital or rehab. She received exceptional care and had wonderful nurses. She is now back home and doing extremely well.

Overall, my father's care has been adequate. Staff is considerate and helpful. Two stand out as exceptional. They are Nurses Aide, Gene, and Sharon at the reception guest. I honestly have not had any complaints except for the food. I have tasted it often and it is barely mediocre. It is literally never hot, and the hot tea and coffee are barely lukewarm. That part of his stay has been very disappointing. On a scale of 1-10, I would have to grade it as an 8.

My wife is currently a resident on 100 Wing. She appears well cared for. She is kept personally clean, her clothing is clean, and the bedding is usually fresh and clean. The cleaning girl does an excellent job but in between times the staff can be a bit careless, sometimes leaving clutter on the floor. The nurses and aids are competent and friendly. They seem knowledgeable regarding my wife's condition and her particular needs.

My mother has been at Mifflin Center for the past 5 months and our experience has been positive. She is well cared for and always clean and tidy. The nursing staff has a good understanding of her needs. She is very hard of hearing and has even more difficulty hearing with staff having to wear masks. Many times when I visit, I notice the staff has written notes to her about her daily schedule and it gives her a better idea of what her day will be. Staff is willing to take the extra time to communicate with her in this way. All my interactions with the nursing staff and support staff have been positive. They always answer my questions or find the answers for me.
