I was invited to an event with the of the residents it was so much fun, music, good food and nothing but smiles. I met the executive director Shellie what a pleasant person, it was nice to see her connecting to everyone and she was so caring and so was the staff. My father has lived in the care of this facility for over 2 years now, and for less than a year in the Assisted living side. I will focus this review on Memory Care. I have had many very positive encounters with most of the staff and management. I am always contacted for any problems or significant changes and they work well the hospice provider as well. As his health and condition changes, we work together to meet his changing needs. The staff, although fluctuating frequently sometimes, is always kind and accommodating to me and my family. I really appreciate the level of genuine caring demonstrated for the residents. Understanding how challenging it is to keep up with all the different residents and their constantly changing individual needs, I would recommend this Memory Care facility to anyone. The food is usually very good also! I typically walk away from my 2-3 times per week visits feeling confident that he is in good hands.

From my very first interaction with staff, The Watermark at Cherry Hills team is understanding and responsive to any concern expressed regarding my 93 yr old aunt, who just moved into Memory Care at The Watermark. They not only support their residents but extend understanding and support to family members. I would like to recognize: Tracie Book, Director of Sales who listens and NOT a hard sell. Lisa Hanchett, Memory Care Director, VERY diversified Health care industry background Shelbie Teasley, Memory Care Resident Care Coordinator...this lady makes things happen. She watches over residents and addresses their needs immediately. For the first time in a very long time, I feel I can leave my aunt's side and walk away feeling a sense of comfort her needs will be met.

My mom has been at The Watermark for 5 months. I just love the staff. They are friendly, helpful and caring. Everyone there addresses my mom by her name. My mom is not very social, she has participated in a few crafts and once for bingo. They offer a lot of activities, but my mom won't join in. I need to say that my mom doesn't like the food, she only goes to lunch and it takes over an hour for the meal to be ordered, served, eaten and waiting on the dessert cart. My mom has almost fully recovered from the fall and surgery that necessitated assisted living. She will be moving at the end of the month to an independent living apartment. If needed, I would bring my mom back to The Watermark.

We placed my mom (89) in this lovely Assisted Living facility in June 2024. We live in Las Vegas, NV. I toured all the LV facilities and was left disappointed and disillusioned by what was offered. I had to look out of state and ended up in Albuquerque. My mom is from New Mexico and her best friend for 70 years also lives in the ABQ area. So I toured a bunch of facilities in Albuquerque. Not only were they nicer and had more aminities than Vegas, they were also newer and cheaper. Farther away than I would like but her happiness with her living situation is very important at this stage of her life. I did not want her to feel warehoused.’ I chose Watermark because of the friendliness of the staff, residents, and the volume of activities offered. The overall feel is modern and efficient. The apartments are very nice and large enough to feel like a true apartment. Mom feels very independent while also safe and attended. Mom is picky about food and about friends. She has liked both so far while adjusting to her new living situation. She is busy! And seems to be really thriving. Brooke K. was invaluable in helping me place mom in this facility. Just about everything promised has been delivered. No place is perfect and all senior care facilities have staffing issues. That is just the nature of the beast, so to speak. Kelly and Amanda keep the residents occupied and Karen at the front desk knows all and sees all. Nurse Lisa keeps everyone healthy and Seth makes sure things run smoothly. They and the office staff are the backbone of the facility. I have no regrets just wish there was a similar facility closer to where we live.

We were guests for an early Thanksgiving meal which was much better than our expectations. There were more dishes included than we would have expected in a home-cooked celebration and all were delicious. The service was outstanding.

Deciding that my mother needed memory care was difficult, but the Watermark at Cherry Hills made it easier. The staff and care givers are warm and generous. They're always helpful and caring. The environment is upbeat, bright and sunny. And clean! There are many activities which mom enjoys and the food is great. They make this difficult time a little easier.

The Watermark at Cherry Hills has been and continues to be a wonderful residence. My mom is very happy with her life at The Watermark since she moved to Albuquerque to be closer to family. She enjoys each full day of a wonderful list of activities carefully crafted to meet various interests, including outings to events, restaurants, museums and more. She has made many good friends, and loves her comfortable sunny apartment. Staff are always warm, caring and approachable, and highly inclusive and accepting. I recently started doing maintenance on the fitness equipment at this location a few months ago, I I have been in contact with Kelly, Whom has been very professional and quick to respond with any updates or issues that need to be addressed with the fitness room to ensure the equipment is in working order for the patrons. I am sharing my experiences as a musician who plays at both the Assisted Living side, and the Memory Care side of this facility. I also have the perspective of having my own mother in a memory care unit (not Watermark) for 5 years before she died at age 96. I also play a many other nursing care facilities in Albuquerque. For starters, I perform twice a month there, so i know the residents are getting live entertainment. Compared to some other places i perform, those other places don’t get nearly as much entertainment. There are several ways I can tell. The first is that they are set up in the same place each time. They KNOW i am coming. The drinks and snacks for happy hour are varied each time i visit. I know that they really appreciate the music i play, especially when i perform old songs that they know and can sing along with. I know they enjoy it, because the residents are waiting for the music to start, and after I’m done, they always ask me when are you coming back again? I know how powerful music is. When I play Memory Care, there are people who can’t remember their own names, or the names of their children or spouses. But somehow they remember the words to songs like you are my sunshine, and they sing along. As for basics, the place is very attractive and welcoming, almost like checking in at a resort hotel. It’s clean, and it smells clean. If you have been looking around at other nursing homes, you will know that I’m not joking about the smells. I have observed the staff interactions with the residents, and been very impressed. I’m hoping that these will be the kind of people who are taking care of me should i ever end up in an assisted living or memory care unit.

Rather than just being such a facility, for its residents it is more like living in a great community in itself, with plenty of activities. Every time I visit this place I am so blessed to see the happy faces of its residents. Also they have great music entertainment at Happy Hour, too.

Hi- my name is Peter. I am a frequent visitor to this wonderful assisted living facility. I find the residents to be happy, healthy and content. They help each other and look out for one another. The staff is well-trained and attentive. The Activity Director, Kelly, goes above and beyond to make sure there are many entertaining and educational events for the residents every day. Keep looking! If you are looking for good care for your family member, keep looking. We have had many struggles with Watermark, too many to list, but ended up moving my loved one into another facility. Watermark raised the rates 4 times in 18 months, and they have no end-cap on Carepoints which is how they determine your rate. They also had many staffing changes and staffing shortages in that 18 months (Ask them about that) which I believe led to serious injury and an ER visit for my family member. I ended up having to enlist hospice care at the recommendation of his PCP, due to lack of attention and care at this facility. I gave 2 stars because there were/are a few, very kind caregivers who were wonderful with my loved one, but sadly, they've left or will be gone soon, too. Save yourself the hassle and concern...go elsewhere.

My mom has lived here for a little over a year and it has been really great to see her join the various activities that the staff put on for the residents. One of the fun events we signed up for was a Murder Mystery Dinner, called 'Terror in Transylvania'. We were each given a part in the mystery and we dressed up for it, which was actually the first time I saw my mom in a halloween costume 🙂 We had eyeballs in the punch, the room was decorated well, and everyone did a great job being in character, which all added to having a fun experience. They did a wonderful job putting it all together and it was very appreciated.

The communication with SueAnne, Jacquie, and ALL memory care staff is amazing. They make sure that all patients are taken care of as well as all needs on the hospice end are met. Julio is great at letting us (the hospice company) know what’s needed. To find a facility that cares for a loved one is rare and watermark definitely cares for their patients. All staff is amazing!

Yesterday, some amazing dancers came to Watermark from Sandra’s Dance Troupe. My husband improved dramatically upon coming here . He was in the hospital for 15 days and at times I thought I would lose him. He was not eating in the hospital and was very weak and could barely walk. Now at WaterMark he’s eating and has more energy to walk around with his walker. He is well cared for here. Wonderful staff!

I LOVE The Watermark at Cherry Hills in Albuquerque! My Aunt lived there for almost 4 years. She moved into their assisted living first and then transferred over to their memory care with ease. The staff there is kind, loving, and dependable. Their meals are fantastic. They took such great care of her! Management is awesome. I can't say enough about this place.They offer the best care. I never had any fear of mistreatment or neglect. If you are looking for a safe place to move your loved one to, there is no need to look further. This is a wonderful place to call home. Last year I visited 11 memory homes in Albuquerque and felt three of them would satisfy my concerns for my wife. There was one that stood out above all the rest and it was the Watermark. My interaction with Mario was very pleasant and not a "sales pitch". All of my questions were answered in a clear manner that allowed me to make the decision that this was the place for my wife. The value for what one pays is totally in line and fair in my opinion. With them having a Doctor on staff at the facility it just made them even better ! The assistance I received in getting the room ready and moving in was great. At the front desk, Karen never got tired of my calls as we completed this process. The ladies in the memory unit, Jacquie and Sue Ann are truly caring persons who allowed me to leave my wife in their care. Am very glad I chose the Watermark

My dear friend moved to Watermark at Cherry Hills in the fall of 2019 until he passed in January 2023. The staff are more like family in the way they care & help residents. They knew him as a real person with real needs. From Lindsay, the director to the med techs, nurses, CNAs to the kitchen staff, housekeeping & maintenance I say a huge Thank you! They all knew my friend's concerns, habits, preferences & needs. Throughout the pandemic & after, the care, compassion, thoughtfulness of everyone there was above and beyond excellent. My friend, who was family to me, called Watermark '"my home" . During his many hospital stays he was always happy to return to his 'home' at the Watermark. Danielle Rodriguez at the Watermark has been an invaluable source of help and information, as well as being a very kind and caring individual. Karen informed me they are private pay but then offered to share a number that would connect me with someone who could help locate a place for my Aunt. Moving a friend,partner, or loved one into assisted care is traumatic. I visited several sites before coming upon the Watermark. I was greeted with good covid protocols. The staff was welcoming and my guide was very professional and had answer to my questions. Other members of staff took the time to introduce themselves and again had answers to my cares and concerns. I am so glad that we found the Watermark at Cherry Hills.

Management's supervision of personnel, IE, personal attention is outstanding. I have been a resident here for two years and I am extremely satisfied with the Watermark as a whole. I am completely comfortable with the feeling of security. The management has great communication skills with me and all other residents as far as I can tell. My recommendation of the Watermark is great. Well worth the cost. On the scale of one to ten, I'd give it a ten!

My grandmother just moved into assisted living at the Watermark. The staff have been so helpful as we navigated the process and flexible as we dealt with the complexities of moving my grandmother from out of state. Outstanding care! Making the decision to move my father into assisted living was of course a difficult one. The complete involvement of the entire staff in being personable and interested in my father was heartwarming. Every time we walk around the faculty,, every single staff member addresses my dad by name, and almost always stop to chat with him. Their knowledge of his interests and previous conversations reveal they are is more than professional. The medical staff is likewise personal, attentive, and knowledgeable. When my father was moved from assisted living to memory care, the entire facility’s staff was communicating with each other and with the family. This difficult life stage has been much easier and comforting at Watermark. The facility is as inviting as the staff. It is beautiful, clean, well maintained, pleasant and soothing. I am grateful my father is a resident.

When first looking at assisted living facilities we were happy to find Watermark, his room feels like a homey apartment with a wheelchair accessible rooms/bathroom and a lovely kitchenette. The residents were all happy and engaging. My Father in-law is in his early 90s and fully cognizant, but dealing with heart issues. We are very pleased with the easy transition he has made into Watermark one month ago. He always comments about how friendly and helpful the staff is. Lyndsey has been incredibly kind, supportive and responsive as well as Cruz, Keith and Jackie and the rest of the staff have all been eager to help. As far as the food goes, my father in-law is a foodie and has raved about many of the dishes. It’s never an easy decision to make, but one thing is for sure we worry less and know he is in good hands. We live around the corner and have no issues visiting him or taking him for the day. In room visits are now allowed once again since covid restrictions have eased up. But even with restrictions we were still able to see him in designated areas. We’ve had a great experience thus far and we highly recommend you check it out!

Where do I begin? Both my parents came to Watermark in June of 2020. My mom is able to live fairly independently in assisted living. Unfortunately my dad had to live in Memory care due to his dementia. Most of the staff (Andrew and Cruz) are dedicated to the residents and committed to their jobs. Not so much for other employees, from the director to the chef, there seems to be a pervasive oh well attitude. Let’s start with the food. For the fee the residents pay they deserve food that’s star quality. Many, many residents have complained but to no avail. Shame on the chef! Do you eat the food that’s prepped in your kitchen? Then there are the clothes dryers. They don’t work! How many times does one need to hear we’re working on them to learn nobody really cares. Again, the residents pay for this amenity and to have the machines operational is a no brainer. Next, my parents both tested negative for Covid several times yet they were denied the opportunity to have in-person visits. I believe with my whole being that because he was unable to be with his wife of 67+ years contributed to my father’s death in December. My father’s death is another subject entirely and I will let my mother address that issue. I gave 2 stars because at least mom has a roof over her head and some sustenance, even if it’s of poor quality.

The Staff here is amazing. They have managed to keep everyone safe through this last difficult year and have done so with grace and obvious care and kindness toward the residents as well as our family.

My sister and I have struggled to find ways to best meet our mom's needs and to keep her safe. After trying on our own, and not doing well, we were referred to Watermark. Lindsey, Natalie, Andrew and the entire staff have been absolutely amazing. I'm not gonna lie, the transition is a difficult one, but they took care of her and they supported us throughout. Now, she's starting to feel like she's home in the Memory Care unit. She looks better than she has in a year or more and she seems happier, too. She will continue to struggle with her diagnosis, but the pressure has come off and we are confident she is very well taken care of. Staff matters and this place is the best!

Natalie and Andrew have been great for my family member and we are thankful for everything that they do! Andrew is very responsive when we have questions or want to talk. Natalie has taken a personal interest in my family member health and needs. They both care about how we are doing as well as my family member. I recommend the Watermark and Natalie and Andrew. I also have high regard for Rebecca and Yami who take care of my family member daily. Kathleen keeps them busy with daily activities and has a great relationship with all the resident. The facilities are the best and the staff are awesome.

Our family member resides in the memory care area of Watermark. During the pandemic the staff have become the family member on the inside since visitations are prohibited by the state. Staff have taken on roles they would have never expected, but extend kindness and compassion. The staff is courteous to answer our questions and help us problem solve. A positive morale is always present as evidenced by energetic employees and friendly, happy residents who make eye contact, smile and who will stop to visit.

Words cannot express my gratitude for the staff at The Watermark at Cherry Hills. They have gone above and beyond when it comes to caring for my father. They have so much compassion and kindness. You can see their commitment for the health and safety of their residents. My father has been well taken care of by the Memory Care team and the Administration. You can see the team work and everyone is very hands on when it comes to creating a top notch environment for their residents! When you have to make the choice of placing a loved one in a care facility, you hope that you can find a place that will care for them as you have cared for them!

I can't say enough good things about Watermark! The staff is amazing and take such good care of my mom. She is in a wonderful caring environment and I am always encouraged to call if I have any questions or concerns. When I do call they respond quickly. I am so happy we chose Watermark.

I cannot adequately express how I feel about the level of consideration and care The Elan provided to my loved one. I had supreme confidence she was placed in the best environment. I highly recommend selecting The Elan for anyone who arrives at point in their life when they need a little or a lot of of extra support.
