Veranda House is a hidden gem in the heart of old Katy. From the time that I took my brother there. I sensed the compassion and care of all the workers for each other and for the residence,even my brother commented that they seem compassionate there. They have also extended themselves to provide vegetarian meals for my brother. It’s not fancy and luxurious, but it is just a wonderful place, always clean And welcoming,and my brother is encouraged to do things that he could do when he was on his own such as play guitar and I just really appreciate them if you need a place for your elderly parents or brothers or children, I would highly recommend looking into Veranda House.

The staff is incredibly compassionate and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy and comfortable. The facilities are clean, bright, and filled with engaging activities that keep everyone active and connected. My grandmother loves participating in the art classes and social events, which have truly enriched her life. Additionally, the sense of community here is heartwarming. Do not put your loved ones in this facility. Please, learn from my mistake. They do not care about you or your family — only about money. I am just 28 years old, and I’m the only family my father has left. I placed him in this facility not because I wanted to, but because I had no other choice. I can’t financially support him alone, and I was told this place would help us get him approved for Medicaid. [name removed] reassured me that they accept Medicaid and would walk me through the process. For two months, (of me working 12 hour days with a 3 month old just to afford full payment) I asked several times for information we needed to get him approved. Two months of being lied to — until finally, they told me there were no Medicaid beds available. All that time and money wasted, all while my father sat in limbo. When I tried to speak with [name removed] (I believe she’s the owner), hoping for compassion or at least some understanding, what I received instead was unprofessionalism and coldness. Every attempt to arrange a meeting to discuss my father’s future was brushed off like we were nothing. This is not just about paperwork. This is about a man who worked his whole life, who now depends on others for care, and a daughter doing everything she can to keep him safe. Instead, we were taken advantage of. No family should ever have to go through what we are going through. Please — for the sake of your loved ones — do not make the same mistake I did.

Great Place!!! Entrance was very welcoming and staff is always friendly. Janet is super helpful and knowledgable and has been running assisted living homes for over 20 years!!! Would recommend to a friend. Thank you Veranda House Senior Living for sponsoring our return home from deployment crawfish boil.

Veranda House is not only the cleanest and most organized Assisted Living but it has staff that genuinely care about their residents. Activities every week along with three well rounded meals a day are just a few of the good things here. Best residents, best staff, and best experience overall!

The caring of the Residents is the upmost Priority of the staff! Working with family to provide a safe and welcome home for the residents by providing activities, great home cooked Meals three times a day and morning exercise five days a week to help residents to interact with each other!

My father stayed at this facility for 10 months. The care he received was very good. When he entered Veranda, he just had a terrible fall and could only walk with a walker. Within a couple of weeks, he was walking on his own and looking very healthy. The staff is very kind and attentive. However, the management was very stubborn and hard to work with. Upon some issues we had when giving the required notice to break the lease, the owner refused to talk to me; even after calling and emailing her directly. She only passed me off to one of her supervisors. I was amazed and disappointed in how poorly this facility is owned and operated. It is for this reason that I only gave Veranda House 3 stars.
