My mother in law stayed here. They call 911 because they want to skirt responsibility and not pay for the private ambulance. They will leave you with tons of bills
June 2024
My mother has been at the Villas (formerly Stone Gardens) since January 2024. She was very reluctant to come at first because she didn't want to give up her home and independence. It took a few weeks but I can honestly say my mom is thriving now. She's always been very quiet, but she's part of a community now. She is 94 years old and goes to exercise class EVERY single day. I try to come with her at least 2x a week. There are activities ALL day long and she goes to them. Laura leads the activities and she is so involved and really tries to help. She even set up a bridge group for mom...she literally knocked on doors to find people to play because my mom really missed playing bridge. Every Tuesday is Name that Tune. It's an hour long and a resident favorite activity. I come help out every week. My mom and the other residents love to hear the music and sing and clap along. It's something my mom (and the other people) seem to really look forward to. It reminds them of music from their generation and they get very excited when they know a song and the artist!! We've played pool a few times (there is a pool table upstairs. My mom doesn't play...she watches me and my sister or aunt...but she enjoys watching us!) My mom is Catholic but enjoyed going to the challah bread making class (I went with her and it was fun!). She really enjoyed the special Passover Seder dinner as well. She was nervous because she isn't Jewish that would be a problem and it truly hasn't been. Every other week, young children from the day care come and the residents sing songs with the young kids. I like coming to this activity as well. The young kids come hug the residents and it's so sweet. Miriam leads this activity and she's awesome!! There is happy hour (!!!) every week day and there are guest bartenders and my mom enjoys going and having a glass of wine and listening to music (from the television). However, there is live music nearly every single day that she walks to in the main campus (just a short inside walk) There are also weekly excursions. She went to Severance Hall to hear live music with about 10 other residents in the free bus. I went as a "chaperone" and the residents all loved it!! She has a problem with her faucet...it was too tight and she struggled to turn it on. They had it fixed within one day!! There's a pretty varied menu and at least 2 options every meal to pick from. My mom has no complaints about the food there! Most importantly...about 2 weeks ago...I got a call at 7:10 in the morning that the nurse who checks her vitals said her blood pressure was 220! They called and ambulance and she was at Hillcrest within 20 minutes. If she had not been at the Villas...I've no doubt she'd not be here today. Every staff member I've met...EVERY SINGLE ONE...knows my mom by name and she loves that they are all so nice to her. Many of them know me now too because I am there a lot. I really am so happy that my mom is here and that her last years in life...she is being looked after and cared for.

I have been a resident here at Stone Gardens for nine months. I can't give enough praise to the staff here. From the administrator to the nursing staff to the aides - everyone is as kind and caring as can be. I am especially grateful to their accommodations for the Orthodox Jewish residence including their support of the kosher dietary laws and traditions. A special hats off to the Life Enrichment staff as well.

My mother has been at Stone Gardens for close to 5 years. I was in Cleveland recently and it was so wonderful to meet the stellar employees who give of themselves so much each day. I don't remember all the names but want to share a few. -Nurse Beth who has always been A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. with my mom. -Lexi, a new aide that always chats with her and is so friendly. -Antoinette (sp?) in housekeeping who is always friendly and cheerful. -The wonderful aide who dressed her today and even got her to wash up. This aide has an accent so I couldn't catch the name, has been there a long time and knows how to get my mom to comply- never an easy task! -The longtime aide, Diane, who has been absolutely wonderful to my parents since day one. And the many whose names I never learned but always gave me a friendly nod or greeting. They made sure my brief visit solidified the fact that Stone Gardens is a great environment for my mom.

Helen's place is everything we have hoped for and more. It's a pleasure knowing our mother is always well cared for, happy and healthy. Anytime we visit the residents are engaged in activities together. The staff is outstanding! They genuinely care for the residents and go above and beyond!

Our family's experience at Stone Gardens over the past 8 months has been quite positive. Everyone from the administrative staff/front desk, nursing department, caregiving support, nutritionist and the maintenance team helped our mother and family during this time of transition. We found everyone to be responsive to our questions, provided updates as needed and available to meet. All of the team members have been professional, kind, caring and willing to go the extra mile. Our mother shared that everyone was so nice and helpful to her. Many thanks to everyone at Stone Gardens from our family.

We had a truly positive experience at Stone Gardens for the care of my Mom. The staff is kind and loving and cared for my mom like she was one of their own. The care increased as she lost the ability to care for herself independently. The staff at Stone Gardens have warm hearts and kind souls. The nurse practitioners, front desk staff, nurses, aids, housekeepers, meal staff, and maintenance were all truly kind and respectful to my mom and us. The staff at Stone Gardens were my moms Angels and I appreciate all of you for providing the care to my beautiful mom when I couldn't. Mom mom was at several facilities and Stone Gardens truly shined above the rest.

My mother has been in Helen"s Place for 6 weeks. After we searched around a number of places, we chose Helen's Place and I am glad we did. Laura was extremely helpful with the transition. The staff has been amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure my mom is happy.

Parents have been very well taken care of, especially considering COVID conditions. They are looking forward to the installation of the new Stone Gardens kitchen and improvements in the dining options.
July 2021
We worked with Laura to help get my 85 yo Mom into Stone Gardens. She was so helpful and patient and understanding. She happily showed us multiple units over a several week period until my Mom was ready to decide. I can't thank her enough for her caring and loving attitude towards finding the best place for my Mom.
April 2021
My family's experience with Stone Gardens and just recently, Helens Place, for both parents living together has been exceptional! The staff whether nursing, maintenance or administrative, have gone the distance to assist my sisters and I in navigating this difficult phase, especially through the past year of Covid quarantine where we have had minimal or no access to our mother and father. We are very grateful for their daily and long term commitment to our parents health and well-being.
February 2021
My mother has been in the Menorah Park system for several years now, first at Wiggins Place, then at Stone Gardens for the past 2 years. We were initially a little sad to leave Wiggins Pl, because the facility is so beautiful, but, my mother needed the extra nursing care that Stone Gardens provides. Last year at the start of the pandemic they had a change in administration (nursing and director) and the new administration is energetic and responds very quickly if you ever have concerns and is great at problem solving. Because, yes, no place is perfect but you want an administration that will listen and respond and fix. The nursing care there is so good, you don't actually realize how good it is.... until you leave. We left Stone Gardens last month and moved Mom to another facility nearby. We thought Mom would really enjoy the patio off her room, the beautiful surroundings of a new place and the outdoor spaces. We thought- Mom doesn't have that many nursing issues, she'll be fine anywhere that has nursing. Well, what we didn't realize is, it takes a lot of coordination, experience and longevity to have top notch nursing care. We also didn't realize that the other place was sometimes staffed by an agency, not even in-house staff! Nursing at this new facility was a serious problem, I can't even begin to explain in this short review! But all I can say is that Stone Gardens nursing was just seamless while we were there.and didnt realize how well coordinated her care was until we left and could do the comparison. I didn't realize how good the food at Stone Gardens was, with their great selection of fish, and variety of meals. Director of Dietary at SG always got back to me the same day if i ever had a concern. The folks in maintenance were super helpful to us, great communication and could fix / install just about anything. Yes, Stone Gardens isnt the newest place in town, but as it turns out, it is very comfortable for the elderly. Needless to say, we are returning to Stone Gardens, because we came to realize once we left what's most important at an assisted living facility: Its the people that work there, the systems that have been developed over time and an organization that really understands what the elderly need from an assisted living facility. And trust me, your parent may not necessarily like those 12' high ceilings and the echo chamber that will be their living room at these new facilities!! I now have a new appreciation for the regular height ceilings at Stone Gardens : )

Life at Menorah Park's Stone Gardens is warm, caring, and full of residents and staff who consider each other like family!
