My father spent the last 2 years of his life at Abode Care of Monroeville. The administration & care takers were very attentive to my father's needs. The staff always commented on how much they "loved" caring for him. He was very fond of them as well. Any requests that I had for my father were met without delay or complaint. Everyone was willing to do whatever I asked for my father. Some of the staff would even leave the facility to go to the store or the pharmacy to pick up a snack or medications for him if I couldn't get there in a timely fashion. The facility was always clean & tidy. There was never an odor of the typical "personal care home." When my father seemed to be nearing the end, the staff of Abode recommended Monarch Hospice. It was the best decision that I ever made. Abode staff & Monarch Hospice worked together to make the last days of my father's life a very comfortable & dignified one. Thank you to all of the Abode administration & staff for making my father feel loved & properly cared for up until his last breath.

Visited this facility with a co-worker of mine, his grandmother was a resident at the Monroeville location. Was impressed with the fact didn't appear stark or as an institution, but rather lived in with nice features for the residence. Staff appeared to be pleasant, busy but not hectic and rushed. Even witnessed one individual, whom I'm assuming was in management, sitting and conversing with an elderly lady at lunch time. Not eavesdropping but could tell wasn't about the facility, but about how she was doing and what she may have planned. Really refreshing to witness humanity in recent times..I've witnessed a lot good and bad over the years, now being in healthcare for 28 years. Continued success and congratulations.

My Mother (Lucille) came to Abode at age 98 after living in her home for 68 years and was extremely difficult and depressed. When it came to the point where she could not be safely left alone she became a resident of Abode, and the last two years of her life were the happiest I had seen her in 20 years. She loved the staff, food and the other residents who she called her home. It is a very difficult for a loved to have to go to a Personal Care Home, which for years Lucille resisted. But I can assure her going to Abode, not only as I said was the happiest I saw her in years ,but also I was assured that she was safe. It wasn't the things they had to do that makes Abode special, but the things they don't have to do that makes them special, i.e. they gave my Mom a wonderful 100th Birthday party, the Christmas Parties and the genuine care and concern that the staff shows their residents. I researched many facilities, and it is my highest recommendation for providers of real caring, concern and most important safety for your loved one, Abode is the value I found best. Bob G.
