October 2025
My mom was admitted to this place on August 13 of this year. She had limited funds and this is where she ended up. It’s a horrible place. My mom passed yesterday morning alone. She had dementia. I came and saw her on Friday, October 24. They had her propped up in her chair in the main room. She was struggling for every breath. What I thought was blood around her mouth was Ensure that was caked on her lips. We immediately put her in her room to bed and gave her oxygen. She had no shoes or socks on and her body was freezing, her abdomen distended. Hospice nurse came and said she may have a possible UTI but also stated that she was transitioning. Antibiotics were ordered but none given. I was with her that Friday from 11am to 6pm. They were giving her morphine and haldol to keep her calm. The hospice nurse told her incompetent caregiver to withhold all solid food but to keep her hydrated. So what does she do…..brings in sugary Sunny Delight orange drink and some dried up chicken and rice. Of course my sweet mom could NOT eat that. I went and I got her some ice cream and softened it for her. That was her last meal. When I went home at 6pm I was leery but needed rest. I texted her incompetent caregiver checking on my mom. Let’s just say English isn’t their first language. I got a [language removed] reply. I woke up the next day (Saturday ) and texted to see how my mom was doing. The response was “sleeping and she pulled out her oxygen tube.” Ten minutes later I get a call from the hospice nurse saying that my mom may have expired. I was inconsolable! Immediately went there and she had expired. I assumed it was that morning by the feel and look of her body. Never properly changed her into her night clothes. Still had all her same clothes on with the blanket I put over her when we put her to bed. Shame on them! I’m sad, mad and disgusted. My mom deserved better and at $6,000.00 a month she got nothing! I feel for the rest of the residents there. I guess my mom was just too much for the lazy, incompetent caregivers. I would advise anyone who is referred to this horrible, filthy facility to run as fast as you can! 😡💔
