Horrible place, no leadership, no communication, and the place reeks! so insane they charge the prices they do and they cant even keep up basic cleanliness. Really bad community, there are so many better ones in the surrounding areas. Dont trust the fake reviews for this community, its really bad.

DEER RIDGE is one of the cleanest and friendliest. The management and staff are knowledgeable and always goes beyond the call of duty to ensure quality care. The facility is always kept clean and the atmosphere is extremely homey. The assisted living facility creates an environment in which any individual would feel comfortable leaving their loved one.

Beautiful , clean , inviting , secure and pleasant smelling community .Gorgeous exterior seasonal and permanent landscaping . There is a large secure patio and garden with outdoor furniture , that includes a covered area and an antique car . Inside there are several living rooms , peaceful gathering nooks , activity rooms , and wide hallways all of which offer cozy comfortable seating , and tables .These spaces contain memorabilia artfully and creatively displayed, pictures , vintage photos , collections and curated objects to engage memories and start conversations . The Nursing staff / care-givers are caring and attentive.The activity dept offers diverse and interaction-stimulating activities throughout the day including crafts , musical performers , sing-a-longs , Praise and Worship , stories , conversation starters , van trips , folding clothes and cooking activities , animal visits , stretching and mobility exercises , ball toss , movies , Holiday and days of remembrance parties and activities , Family ,and community events . The atmosphere created at Deer Ridge supports personal dignity and continued self worth. I wish this community had been in Puyallup while my precious Mother lived with Alzheimers Disease . My dad has lived here for about 9 months. The staff is very patient and sweet. My dad needs a lot of extra care and assistance as he is limited to his wheel chair and I always feel he gets a lot of respect and attention. The food is great and changes every week. The facility has a lot of daily activities, singing, games and arts and crafts. The facility is also a safe place for its residents and family members. They have a great system in place for check in and check out as well as how to check a resident in and out. The shuttles are always available for doctors appointments and the staff always allow outside PT and OT to the facility. I am very happy with what I have seen so far.

We were looking for a new memory care facility for my mom after she was able To walk out of her current place & was just isolated and sad… I was given a list of recommended adult family homes from her hospice nurse, but decided on Deer Creek and immediately knew it was the right choice. Walking through the facility, the interactions between staff and residents were affectionate and genuine. The place itself is beautiful (or as my teen niece said "bougie") but it's so much more than that. The staff are KIND, activities are ongoing from morning until evening, they go out of their way to connect with their residents on a personal level and the residents are clearly comfortable there. When we brought my mom, she was very insecure - Janae offered to have their activity gal Ginger come invite mom to join her… Ginger told mom that she had a table of ladies that would love to meet her and invited mom to come have some fun with her-my mom's demeanor instantly changed and off she went with a smile. (Ginger was so wonderful I almost wanted to go with her too!) They have been supportive to our family as mom adjusts and have made this a positive experience and a blessing. I am so grateful that my mom, who is getting farther along into her dementia, will be able to have community, friends & kind caregivers for what we all know is her final stage.

When we first placed our mom here, the people were fabulous I would have given 10 stars, but as a year goes by, the staff turnover has been tremendous and when short staffed things get delayed. Never neglected just slower response., but hopefully with covid done and things returning to some semblance of normal they will get into a smoother routine (and keep employees). The place is very clean and decorated well. The food is really good. We used to be able to eat with mom occasionally, but since covid we can't. That's a bummer. The rooms for the residents have to be kept locked or the other residents help themselves to things that aren't theirs. That is a different challenge altogether and I feel for the staff. All clothes have to be WELL marked or they get lost on the mass amounts of tenants laundry. So we have definitely lost a few items and have learned to make sure what we bring isn't "valued". Still with all the issues of a care facility, this place is one of the best. My hope in writing this review is that it helps you make an informed decision on where to put your loved one.

I would like to share our experience with the lovely staff at Deer Ridge. My mom, who had just lost her husband of 71 years, suffered from early stages of Dementia. As a family, we were desperate to find a new place that felt like home. Our hope was that she would feel safe, happy, find friends, and cared for with kindness and respect. Deer Ridge was such an answered prayer for our family as EACH and EVERY wonderful person that works for there chooses to serve and love their residents. I personally live 3,000 miles away. The staff ensured me the distance would never be an issue and followed through with this promise; making it easy to connect with my mom and see her smiling face each time I asked. Whether in person or from a distance, their abundant selflessness and compassion left a lasting impression on us. This is the treatment you hope for when you have loved ones in assisted living. They exemplify kindness and patience each day to those entrusted in their care. I can honestly tell you that no matter the time of day, the intentional connection as well as loving care, was visible from every single staff member. My mom recently passed and to the very last minute, they loved my mom as if she was a member of their family. She loved and trusted them, but more importantly, she felt safe and comfortable in what could be an uncomfortable setting. For that, I am forever grateful for the memorable experience given to me and my family by this staff. To those of you that I know personally, I can't thank you enough for all the times you went out of your way to connect me with my mom. You will all hold a very special place in our family's hearts forever. Thank you Deer Ridge for having such wonderful, caring and compassionate employees that truly care about the residents.

I only have great things to say about Deer Ridge. My mom's memory issues became much worse after a fall in October, and my brother and I had to quickly find a center to provide the support she needed. After we took a tour with Olivia, we agreed that Deer Ridge checked all the boxes for us. There's 24/7 nursing support, hourly check-ins by care givers, delicious meals and daily activities. The facility itself is new and beautiful and since it's one level with secured doors, my mom can walk freely without us getting concerned for her safety. Most impressive to me though, are the interactions between the staff and residents- it's always calm, kind and respectful. My mom's transition into Deer Ridge this past December went smoothly and each time that I visit her, she's happy and healthy. I know that we made the right choice with Deer Ridge.

Food is cold and unappetizing. At times mom has been sent to the dining room 45-50 minutes before anything is ready. Then she forgets why she's there and wanders off. When allowed I've sat with her at the table to keep her focused but the meal can be so poor it's sad. Staff turnover happens daily. They come in the apartments at night to check on residents but often time wake mom up and she can't get back to sleep. Her confusion seems worse here.

My mom moved into Deer Ridge after living in another facility nearby that could not adequately provide the care needed for my mom with a dementia diagnosis. The difference is night and day. On my first visit for a tour, Olivia spent the first 30 minutes asking questions about my mom and what she needed. During the tour, I was impressed with the thought that had gone in to creating an inviting and respectful environment for the residents and their families. My mom has been a resident there for a couple of weeks and I very pleased that we had the option of Deer Ridge for my mom. They already know her by her first name and have reached out when they had some concerns about how best to help her make the transition. I feel confident in the staff's ability to meet my mom's needs. I also appreciate how Deer Ridge actively connects the residents to their families through sponsored events. I would highly recommend Deer Ridge for family members with memory issues.

We cannot say enough great things about Deer Ridge and it’s amazing staff. After our dad passed, our main concern for our mom was to be part of an active community where she could thrive and interact with other residents. We knew covid may make that a challenge but we were blown away by how intentional and thoughtful Olivia and the other staff members were about getting to know her, making her feel comfortable throughout her transition, engaging her at meals and events, and helping connect and form relationships with other residents. We are so grateful for the way our mom is thriving in her new community and has a smile on her face every time we visit. Deer Ridge truly feels like home to her and we are so thankful for how the staff, director and community has embraced her and helped her feel safe, known and loved.

We moved mom into Deer Ridge in August, 2021. It was a decision that all six of us kids deemed to be necessity after increasing concerns about her care in OR. Not often do ALL 6 of us agree on anything, but in the case of mom's safety, care and overall wellbeing, this was something we did all agree on. No situation is perfect when you are dealing with family and dementia, but it is certain, that everyone of the staff at Deer Ridge truly love their work and the people in their care. We are all forever grateful that mom spent her last months close to me and living in Deer Ridge. Sincere thanks to William, Olivia, Brie, and ALL the nurses, care givers, cooks, cleaning staff, maintenance and reception!! You all are a gift.

The facility is thoughtfully designed with archival local photos and memorabilia, which prompts conversations with your family member and helps draw out deep memories, helping them relax and feel competent. Staff are gentle, patient, and kind. They set up engaging activities and encourage participation and appropriate levels of physical activity to keep your family member connected to others and healthy.

We chose Deer Ridge for Mom and were not disappointed in the quality of care she received. The facility is new, well-kept and clean. The staff are caring, courteous and helpful to both residents and family members. Staff are 'resident centered,' taking care of your family member is their first priority. You feel you can drop in 'anytime' to see your loved one and are encouraged to come as often as possible.

I placed my husband in Deer Ridge at the end of September. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about their facility. The staff are wonderful and take all concerns, thoughts and ideas seriously. My husband loves his new home and the people who care for him. He tells me the food is delicious which really makes me happy, and he's right I've had dinner with him. The activities director is fabulous and loves her job. I knew the moment I took the tour it was the place for him to be.
