I found Arden courts quite by accident as I was looking at a "place close by. I called from the front bench and was told to come right in. I knew within a very short time that this was the place for my mom. Everyone from the front desk to the nurses CNA's and custodial staff are friendly, helpful and concerned I have been walking on air, ever cents we made the decision to place my mom here .

My mother arrived at Arden Courts about a week and a half ago. After searching far and wide we immediately felt comfortable with this home and confident they would be the best place for mom. Our initial meeting was with Jeanette who was super helpful and went above and beyond to make sure my mom got to Arden asap after a 3.5 week struggle in the hospital. She even went to the hospital on July 4th (her day off)to bring mom's paperwork back to Arden so there wouldn't be further delays. She really set the tone for us. Upon arrival, mom was greeted with warmth and a wonderful staff. Sharon, Keisha, Donovan, Sierra and the entire staff are so nice, responsive and on point. Sharon is super responsive and made our family also feel at home at Arden. They pay attention to details and most importantly respect the residents and have the necessary patience to work with people who have cognitive issues. Lastly, Arden is clean, the grounds are lovely and there is always something stimulating going on for the residents which was a big factor in our decision making process. Of course it is very early in my mom's stay but I am confident that if any place can help mom get back to her baseline and give us more time with her it is Arden Courts.

My experience has been that these attentive, conscientious, and compassionate caretakers have immediately addressed my concerns. Special kudos to the Health Department who keeps me updated on medical issues as well as Jeanette Lauture, Director of Sales, Marketing & Memory Care Advisor and Certified Dementia Practitioner for the patience, enthusiasm and considerateness that she has shown my family. The outside secured area where one can safely walk or sit among the trees and flowers is lovely and also a plus at this memory care home. I can confidently recommend Arden Courts, West Orange.

I cannot even begin to thank Jeanette enough for all of the help she has given me to help my brother get into Arden Courts, West Orange!! From the moment I explained to her my brother's situation, Jeanette was on it. She saw me through every obstacle, which with her help was no longer an obstacle. I just loved everything about the facility, that I had seen on my tour and absolutely knew this would be the right place for my brother. The facility is immaculate and the employees friendly and helpful. Jeanette went out of her way to help, and from the moment that I spoke with her and walked into the office, I was at ease. If I were to rate my overall experience, I couldn't give less than a 10+!! A great big THANK YOU to Jeanette and the WO staff.

Arden Courts in West Orange provides a unique community for its residents. The care givers are top notch, friendly and caring. They actually learn from the residents and figure out the best care for each individual. My dad hadn't showered in 5 months when we brought him to Arden Cts and within 2 days he was showered, shaved and clean. They are constantly training their care givers and I feel so happy since we moved my dad in. He is finally in a safe facility with a caring staff and is treated wonderfully by each and every person in his new community. I'd recommend Arden Courts to anyone in need of care for a loved one experiencing dementia.

My Mom has advanced Alzheimer's. We were reluctant to put her in a facility, and most facilities were not appropriate for her. We feel blessed to have found Arden Courts. The loving care and kindness they provide is heartwarming. We could not have possibly cared for my mom on our own, and no other memory care centers we visited compare to Arden - they are terrific. I highly recommend Arden Courts of West Orange to care for your family member. I had been searching for the right facility for my husband for months. The moment I visited Arden Courts, I knew I had finally found the best place for my husband and his unique needs. It felt like home - warm and cozy. The facility is lovely, clean and well maintained. The layout was designed perfectly for my husband who is a walker - indoors and outdoors. There are plenty of places to sit and chat throughout the entire facility, such as the library, garden and beach to name a few. My husband's favorite place is the beach. So when I visit, we immediately sit on the bench at the beach. It's these kinds of touches that make Arden Courts special. The staff is professional, caring and most of all very patient. My husband as well as family members are greeted at every encounter with a smile and a sincere greeting. Oftentimes I am met with an anecdote about something that occurred during his day that was special, such as his winning a game of poker. Every day is packed with activities that are fun and engaging. I love that the staff interacts with him on a personal basis. He tells me how everyone is nice, and the food is very good. I know that he feels safe and secure. Initially, I was very concerned about leaving my husband in a facility that I could trust to care for him, but I don't have that worry anymore. I know he is in "good hands."

My husband has Altzheimers and had been cared for at home for about 6 years. At one point his caregiver went on vacation and I brought him to Arden Court for respite care. I was very impressed with the warmth and care of the experienced staff and the fact that there was much more stimulation than he had at home. Residents had a daily routine which took them out of their rooms from the time they dressed for the day until they prepared to go to sleep. They dined in a small dining room in their wing (one of four wings/houses) and visited with guests in their living room or in one of the lovely areas around the facility. They went to activities as a large group and even spent some time outside on the beautiful grounds, weather permitting. The wonderful and experienced staff helped whenever they were in need of assistance. When my husband's disease progressed and he was no longer able to speak or walk or be cared for at home, I looked at other facilities and then recontacted Arden Court. Jeannette and Sharon worked quickly to make a smoothe transition for him. And they are still always ready and able to assist as the need arises. While the physical facility is old, it is clean and cozy the way it is divided into four "homes" - kind of gives residents a sense of family. It's also a big plus that Arden Court is so close to my home which makes visiting very easy for me.

I would prefer to keep my parents at home with us, but they need more care and supervision than we can provide. Arden Court of West Orange was the only place that could care for an Alzheimer's patient with celiac disease. Nothing is perfect, but this is the best we found after years of interviews and visits. The care givers are wonderful, the nurses are amazing, and I know my parents are being cared for with love and kindness.

Our family recently moved my dad into Arden Court in West Orange, NJ. Thanks to the knowledgeable, kind, sensitive staff- Jeanette in admissions/marketing, Martha, the facility administrator, and Nurse Sharon- we were able to make the transition happen in less that a week and we now have peace of mind knowing that my dad is safe, on a schedule, receiving his meds in a timely manner and being stimulated through a wide variety of activities everyday. The ladies that assist him in his “house” are as sweet and friendly as can be and are patient with me and all my phone calls. Moving a loved one out of his/her home is never an easy decision but we feel so fortunate to have found Arden Court and we have complete trust in the staff. My dad dosent realize it but his quality of life increased greatly the minute he moved in.

I've been reading the many positive reviews for Arden Courts here, and we totally agree. Our experience has been wonderful. They are experts in helping people with dementia. What a blessing for my mom. Her quality of life has improved dramatically. Thank you so much, Jeanette (Arden's Marketing Manager), Martha (Arden's administrator), amazing Head Nurse Sharon, and ALL the staff at Arden Courts for all you do! Our story is similar to many here... My mom's dementia took a serious turn for the worse a few months ago — she started wandering on her block not sure where she was, was getting easily angered and upset with all of us, wasn't able to take care of her physical needs... We tried for a really long time to have her stay at home, as she wanted, but it just wasn't possible anymore. We had to move quickly to find a place for her. I showed up at Arden Courts late on a Friday, worried, frazzled, not sure how I was going to help my mom... and Jeanette and Martha were so caring and helpful. Martha was literally on her way out the door leaving for a family event, and came back in to help me 🙂 It's something I'll never forget. Thank you so much, Martha!! xoxo! Jeanette helped us every step of the way. The process can feel so overwhelming but Jeanette was so supportive, so kind, so experienced. She helped us work through every step of the process and the paperwork and was able to help us get my mom settled in less than a week. It was kind of a miracle for our family. Thank you so much, Jeanette! xoxo! Once my mom moved in, we were really worried that she wouldn't settle in. She'd been getting very agitated when she was home, as many others here have experience with their parents. I could see that she was scared and so confused by what was happening to her. It was really heartbreaking. When I described to Nurse Sharon what had been going on, she was very caring and let us know right away that they were very experienced with my mom's scenario. They know what to do xoxo! Head Nurse Sharon is so kind, caring, patient... She is a PRO! We knew my mom would be in very good hands. We are so grateful to you, Nurse Sharon xoxo! It's been a few months now, and as I said, my mom's quality of life has dramatically improved. ALL the staff at Arden Courts are making that possible: My mom is now taking her medications consistently (that's HUGE), she's eating properly, she's wearing nice, clean, clothes, her physical needs are attended to consistently. What a blessing! Almost forgot to mention... the grounds are beautiful at Arden Courts. It's so pretty, the way it's set up. There are nice walkways, pretty gardens... And with the landscaping, you don't feel boxed in, in any way. The residents can enjoy the outside space. The building itself is set up in four wings --- it feels very homey. There are cozy nooks where residents can hang out, read, sleep, chat... The facility itself is so well-designed. One other amazing, surprising thing... My mom has even made a buddy who she hangs out with all the time. Apparently, they're like two peas in a pod 🙂 Wow, we seriously can't believe that one 🙂 My mom can be pretty tough to deal with sometimes. We are so grateful she's found a friend. Sending anyone who is reading this a lot of love and support. This is NOT an easy process. It can be so emotionally draining and excruciating at times. But we are so grateful we found Arden Courts. It is truly a wonderful place.

We placed my mom in Arden Courts in July. It had gotten to a point where she could no longer live on her on. She had become delusional, and easily angered by the people closest to her. I was worried about placing her in assistant living. Wasnt sure how she would react. I was assured by the Arden Courts staff that they are experienced with the type of behaviors that my mother exhibited. Since moving in, shes been like a new person. Her attitude is much better, delusions have diminished. She tells me how much she enjoys living there, and how nice the other residents are. Arden Courts turned out to be a perfect fit for my mom. I am glad we found it, and would highly recommended it to others.

We placed my 96-year-old father-in-law here five weeks ago, and he is markedly improved from when he was at home. Last March, we had to take away his drivers license as his short-term memory rapidly declined. He then became depressed, lost his appetite and stopped taking care of himself. His home health aides were not able to lift his spirits. We decided he needed more professional care, so we moved him to Arden. Since then, his mood has improved, he has regained his appetite and is back to showering and dressing himself. (He is high functioning.) This is my second experience with Arden - my mother, who had Alzheimers, lived here for 7 years before she died at age 96, and Arden took wonderful care of her.

My mother has been at Arden Courts for almost 2 years now. The caregivers and staff have embraced her from day one. I cant think of another place that would give her the individual attention that she requires. The staff have been there for many years and are fully trained in dealing with Alzheimers patients which is very evident! The activities director Diane runs a fabulous program and always keeps the residences entertained and engaged. Shes always smiling and has the best attitude and truly loves all the residents! I dont know what this place would be like without her. This disease is horrific and affects not just the patient but the entire family, with that being said I cant imagine my mother being anywhere else and getting better care.
