I visit many senior communities and if you are anywhere near the San Dimas area, The Terraces at Via Verde is one of the best places to take your loved one if they are faced with memory impairment in any way. You can trust that your loved one will be treated with care as they live in their new home. I work for a medical group where my clinical staff comes in and gives extra clinical support partnering with their clinical staff there at the community. The amount of wellness and enrichment programs they have show how much they truly care for each and every resident. Special thanks to those we work very close with, Oscar, Suby, Nicole and their entire team for all that you do. The team there works on a string to make sure every level of care is completed. And I can't finish a review for them without a special shot out to the culinary team. Residents are given healthy and favorable dining. Simply put, the food is amazing! The level of care provided is exceptional, and every employee I have encountered has been consistently professional, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. It is clear that the staff takes great pride in their work and truly cares about the well-being, comfort, and dignity of the residents. As I do not live nearby, I am unable to visit my sister as often as I would like. Whenever I call, the staff takes the time to listen, answer my questions thoroughly, and provide meaningful updates regarding my sister’s care. Their openness, patience, and commitment to communication offer me tremendous reassurance. Knowing that my sister is receiving such attentive and compassionate care brings me great comfort and peace of mind.

My dad has only physically been at the Terraces, maybe a week out of the month he has been a resident. He fell the first night and went to the ER. A couple of days later his bp dropped considerably sending him back to the hospital ending up at a skilled nursing facility for 3 weeks. We anticipate his return to the Terraces on Jan. 5th. I have been charged since Nov. 24 to present.

My wife and I shopped around a lot to find the right place for her dad once his care needs exceeded our capacity. The first facility we placed him at kicked him out after 5 days, not because of behavior but because they decided he wasn’t a good fit. We were in a bind but The Terraces quickly took up the slack and transferred him to a wonderful room. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because The Terraces was the absolute perfect place for my father in law. He had much more room to roam. The caregivers adored him and helped him in all the ways he needed. His room and bathroom were always clean, even when I dropped by unannounced. The staff at The Terraces is incredibly responsive. They even gave me their cell numbers so the family could communicate at any time. His last few months of life were incredibly happy and peaceful at The Terraces. I can’t recommend them enough.

Moving our loved one here was the best decision we ever made!! The facility is very clean and well maintained. Our loved one enjoys each and every one of his meals, lovingly prepared by the chef. Due to our loved one’s limited mobility, his meals are especially prepared for him to easily feed himself. Maintaining his independence is importance to us. The executives are always available for check in’s and updates. They are very involved with the daily in’s and outs of the residence's. There are plenty of activities as well. Our loved one enjoy’s participating in the daily activities. We get pictures and updates from the activities he attends. I can sleep at night knowing our loved one is well taken care of.

The Terraces in Via Verde is a great place for loved ones in need of help special care due to Dementia and Alzheimer needs. Along with the many activities available to help with overall health, their dietary needs provided are fantastic. Meals prepared by Head Chef Ovillio and his kitchen staff are exceptionally thoughtful. Delicious and nutritionally beneficial, our mother enjoys dining in the dining room and often asks for seconds. She especially enjoys festive meals associated with the holidays and family favorite dishes we've requested. Visitors able to dine with our mom are also impressed with Chef Ovillio's offerings. Thank you, Terraces... for bringing his expertise to our mother's new home.

When my mom needed a memory care facility, I toured and visited so many. It was very upsetting to see some of these places. It really felt like the elderly are being disregarded. The affordable ones were not great (that’s putting it kindly) and the nicer ones were not affordable at all. Some of these places felt like you were in a hospital or mental institution. There’s no such thing as a perfect memory care facility, but this place makes a solid effort. I moved my mom here about a month ago and I’m so happy with this choice. My mom is thriving and every time I visit her she’s so happy. She’s laughing all the time and engages in all the activities. The staff has told me on many occasions how much they love my mom. They have been so welcoming, kind and listen to any concerns I have regarding my mom. Special staff shoutout to Oscar, Anne, Nicole, OV, Mary, Maria and Kelly.

Moving to The Terraces was the best decision our family made for my grandpa with Alzheimer's disease. The staff are incredibly kind, empathetic, caring, attentive, responsive, helpful, thoughtful, and actively involved with the residents every day. They are supportive and innovative in their approach to daily activities and memory care. Elizabeth, who runs the activities, is fantastic. She keeps the residents engaged and busy, incorporating their likes and hobbies into her programs. It is a great feeling to know their loved ones are with staff who are experts in memory care. Previously, the doctor was going to increase my grandpa’s medication due to behavioral issues at his former memory care community. However, after moving to The Terraces, we realized no medication adjustment was needed”he just needed to be more engaged and active. He’s doing amazing and is the best he’s been with his condition.

My 92 year old father has dementia. He lived with me until he needed 24/7 care. Moving him to an assisted living memory care facility was an uneasy decision. We are very lucky to find The Terraces at Via Verde in San Dimas California. It’s been four months since we moved my father from Massachusetts to this beautiful facility. We are very happy with the care provided. We are so thankful that the maintenance director made the big move very smooth. All the daily living assistance staff are really nice and caring, they are alway available to help. I feel reassured that the nursing staff monitor any medical issues and medications closely, and always communicate with us. The food is another plus, the chef even comes to dining room regularly chat with residents. My father is doing well with his physical therapy. The physical therapy team there is amazing. When I met the executive director Robert at the quarterly resident care meeting, his wealth of knowledge on dementia and his deep understanding of the care led me to believe that we have made the right decision.

The Terraces at Via Verde provides excellent support and care for its residents. The facility is modern and impeccably maintained. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere very pleasant. Ample opportunities are available for residents to participate in engaging activities. All staffpersons were phenomenal; we personally witnessed that every aspect of Mom's care was attended to in the best manner possible throughout the entire day and evening. Our family feels blessed to have had these services and support. We HIGHLY recommend The Terraces at Via Verde and without exception.

When choosing a memory care community for my husband I looked at several and chose The Terraces. The Director Vicky, and all of the staff are so caring. My husband has progressed from not being able to take care of himself, to now having a sense of independence as he has progressed amazingly in such a short amount time. I feel the Terraces set themselves apart from other places as they let all the residents interact with each other as they choose. I am confident I made the right choice and can become his wife again and not his caregiver as he is in good hands.

This is a beautiful facility with great resident rooms, wonderful great rooms/dining rooms and very nice outdoor spaces. The Executive Director Vicki, as well as all of the staff, are knowledgeable, kind and helpful. If your looking for memory care for a loved one, you should look into The Terraces. A family member, that I just met, had moved her mom here because it was so nice and homey.

I and my husband visited in April 2022. I am looking for the facility that will best care for my husband. Pros: 1. The Terraces is very clean and nicely appointed. 2. The staff seem friendly. 3. Many of the residents were friendly and seemed content. 4. The street and general location are very attractive. 5. The rooms, even the least expensive, are of adequate size, but they are not furnished. 6. We sampled the food and it was fresh, nicely prepared and delicious. Each meal is well balanced. Snacks are available at all times. Cons: 1. It seems understaffed. I only saw 4 employees: Supervisor, receptionist, chef and a staff member leading a game. 2. Residents on the 2nd floor have to ring down to the staff and be escorted by elevator in order to reach the 1st floor. The elevator is in the lobby, not in the living area. 3. Because of #2 above, it is highly unlikely that some of those on the 2nd floor will mingle with those on the 1st floor, or take part in activities occuring on the 1st floor, because of the inconvenience. The reverse will probably be true, too. Those on the 1st floor will avoid the inconvenience of what is required to access the 2nd floor. I'm not sure what the designers were thinking with all that. I suspect that it will take a long time for the facility to fill the rooms on the 2nd floor. As expected, people prefer the 1st floor. There was only 1 room available on the 1st while only 1 room was occupied on the 2nd. The 2nd felt like a ghost town. It would help if the 2nd floor rooms were 10% or so less money. 4. Most of the rooms utilize shared bathrooms and that is not the current trend in the business. 5. The entrance faces the street, which is great, but all of the parking is in back. That means that visitors have to walk along the side of the building around to the front. There is a circular driveway out front, so one could drop someone off at the entrance; but, if one is bringing back a resident, that is not practical because he/she should not be left standing there while one parks and walks around; therefore, one will have to park and then escort the resident around to the front. In 100° heat or rain, that is unacceptable, especially since all of the residents are infirm in one way or another. 6. There is a one-time entrance fee of $3000 on top of the 1st month's rent and, if more than an average amount of time is required to care for a resident (in their judgement), there is another fee added onto the rent each month. Perhaps all of this is the norm. We have only checked a half dozen places. As of now, I haven't decided yes or no.

We moved my father-in-law to this place, from a place we loved, when it first opened, so he would be closer to us. This has been a great facility for him. They have many activities for the residents designed to stimulate them. They also have events for the community and families. Yesterday, they had an instructional lecture for the families to help us understand and cope. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and constantly interacts with the residents. We're very thankful our family member is here.
