Caregiving and activities staff are great! I cannot say enough about how patient, kind, and attentive the caregiving staff are with my mom. It gives me such peace of mind knowing she is treated with genuine compassion and care. My mother especially loves the musical guests who come several times a month. She also enjoys the personal attention from the activities staff, whether they are dancing with her, painting her nails, or simply encouraging her to participate. Those little moments mean so much to her—and to me. I am also amazed at how much thought, creativity, and effort goes into their fundraising events. They consistently make them feel high-end, engaging, and truly special for the residents and their families. I am incredibly grateful to the entire caregiving and activities team for everything they do to make my mom feel cared for, included, and valued. They truly go above and beyond!

I have attended 3 events at Cedar Crest where I brought my granddaughter. The first event was a spaghetti dinner. My granddaughter got happily messy and entertained many of the residents. I have also attended a "nature walk" where we visited a neighboring home for seniors. At that facilities the residents had created a garden. Plus staff and maintenance staff had designed a vegetable and flower garden intertwined. The third event was the 4th of July bash. My granddaughter delighted in running around (she's two) meeting residents, eating watermelon, and playing with anything she could get her hands on. The residents coddled her, so she was thrilled! The Engagement Director, Sarah. was wonderful

I have a great knowledge of this facility as my Mother in law was a resident there for several years before succumbing to Alzheimers. My wife was in this facility for 6 yrs before passing away from Alzheimers. And now, my mother (96 yrs of age) is a resident there. As a retired physician, I am probably more critical than most people when assessing the care and treatment my family received . They are excellent at communicating, and a very accommodating, caring organization. They do a great job caring for these residents with such debilitating diseases. I would highly recommend them.

Mom enjoys the availability of the garden where many residents help plant flowers and vegetables. They care for them and people often feel at ease in this beautiful, safe and intentional space near the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. The best outdoor space of any of the many facilities we have visited.

My name is Tian. My father, Brent Rufener, has been a resident here for about a year now. This lady, Teri, who is from the activity department has been a positive and upbeat person who puts in so much effort to put a smile on every residents face including my dad's. She always tries to make everyone feel included and seen there even if they're in another place in their minds which unfortunately most of them are. Teri has always been really nice to me and I feel happier when I see her. She runs activities like mocktails, baking class, bingo and dancing. I can tell she really cares about everyone at Cedar Crest from her kindness and how personable she is. I think CC would be really boring without her, so I'm very thankful my father gets to receive some fun because of her and her activities.

My mother has been in cedar crest at the Tualatin location. I have so many great things to say about them. From the staff to nurses to the assistants to the cooks to the activities people. They all love thier jobs here. Smiles and good times always. They are eager to help the patients and eachother. They make everyday special for my mom even when I cant be there. The staff goes over and above what is required of them. My mother always expresses how she loves the staff at cedar crest. Mom's 86 birthday was July 30 and the events coordinator decorated a special room so that the family could enjoy her birthday. You cant put a price on that. Beautiful people work there.

My mother-in-law has been at Cedar Crest now for about 4 years. They have cared for her so well but the sustaining thing for her has been the activities. They challenge her to keep using her mental and physical abilities daily. Even though her Alzheimer's is progressing I believe that is part of why it has been slow in completely taking her from us. THANK YOU Cedar Crest for all you do!

Just wanted to share about the activities at Cedar Crest. My mom has been a resident for a couple years now and she so enjoys the various activities there. The staff does an excellent job having a variety of things for the residents to do as well as several times a day. It certainly helps to keep mom active and social!

When it became apparent that our parents’ cognitive problems had progressed to the point that the assisted care facility where they were living could no longer provide the level of care they needed, my sister and I worked with an agency to find a memory care facility. We wanted to find a place where they could continue to live together (as they had for 70 years), they would feel at home, and where we were confident they would have good care. Our primary search criteria were: 1. Allow them to stay together 2. Quality care 3. Warm “homey” atmosphere 4. Location somewhere between Beaverton and McMinnville 5. Option to pay down to Medicaid After reviewing around 15 – 20 memory care facilities, we ended up visiting five and chose Cedar Crest Alzheimer’s Specialty Care. It’s a small, well-cared for facility, with a warm atmosphere. It includes a central gathering area where the residents and staff can mingle. There are two nice fireside rooms with home type furnishings and fireplaces, a sunny atrium area at the end of one hall, and a manicured courtyard with a covered area for spending time outside, when they weather cooperates. They have shared (2-person) and private rooms. The shared rooms are larger than most of the other facilities we visited. The entire staff, including the administration staff, resource director, maintenance director, executive director, activities director, housekeeping, and the chef are all very friendly and easy to access. Any billing or financial questions were promptly answered by either the local administration staff or the central office. Although our parents passed away within a year of moving to Cedar Crest, during their time there we saw no turnover in any leadership staff positions. The care staff is caring, attentive and knowledgeable. My sister and I were always comfortable that we could count on the care staff to be on top of Mom’s or Dad’s condition on any given day and would be proactively informed of any problems. They took the time to discuss any concerns or questions we had regarding care plans. The optional OPTUM Medicare Advantage program was a major help for us. Medical care that could be managed by a nurse practitioner, as well as dental, hearing, and vision care are provided by visiting health care providers on site. As Mom’s and Dad’s health declined and they entered hospice care, the staff worked hand in hand with the hospice care staff to keep them comfortable and active. I would recommend a visit to Cedar Crest to anyone looking for memory care for a loved one.

The place is welcoming and decorated like someone’s home. The gardens are lovely and the staff are kind and caring. They have plenty of activities and have set up their residents for as much functional independence as they can each handle.

My wife spent the last 11 months of her Alzeihmer's journey with Cedar Crest. She got the very best of care - a heart felt thanks to the staff. They were more than staff. They took care of Helen like she was family, spending time with her out of their busy days. I also felt like family. They showed real compassion and would regularly check in with me to see how I was doing. They still do! A well deserved 5 star - thank you!

From the first day I met Mecaela and her teammates at Cedar Crest I felt welcome and reassured about the care my husband would receive. This was one of several I toured that week and the warm, homey feel of this facility kept drawing me back. The staff I met were always helpful and showed genuine caring for their residents. My husband is just settling in, but I am so grateful for the care and safety he is getting. This is not the cold, sterile atmosphere of rehab or a hospital, but more like a home!

Our mom has been here for months and has bonded with many of the staff. Caregiving is hard work and there are people there with big big hearts. Of course there are bumps in the road but mom has been happy and they do their best to keep her comfortable. Staffing IS hard because it’s thankless hard work. We’ve loved how loved she has been.

From entering the facility during Covid and going through a resident cycle without external support, I felt that Cedar Crest did a remarkable job. They are compassionate and understanding. I encountered several men that had placed their wives with Cedar Crest, and we all agreed that we were blessed to have wives taken care of at Cedar Crest. The best review I could give is that, if I had to do it over again, I would choose Cedar Crest without reservation. No Memory Care Facility is perfect, and they are subject to customer complaints, but I believe Cedar Crest is one of the best.

I wonder if things have changed since some of the last reviews. We moved our Dad in here 5 months ago and I am happy with this facility. The staff seem attentive and caring and it looks like the staff to resident ratio has improved in the last few months. We always get a call if there is any noteworthy incident and management has always been responsive to questions and concerns.

Poorly managed and staffed. Some of the caregivers acted unprofessional and even hostile towards clients and other staff. I find it hard to believe that the management tolerates such behavior but they do. There are too many alternatives to have to settle with this organization.
