Reviews The Heritage of Overland Park
July 2026
My husband was at Heritage of Overland Park for nearly 11 months. He was loved and cared for by an excellent staff, as was our family. If there was a problem with a new staff member, the matter was dealt with swiftly and the person was no longer working at Heritage. I highly recommend this facility.
June 2026
My late husband was in this facility approximately 6-7 months. I have waited 3.5 years to write this review as it has taken me this long to get past my anger about his care there. I now feel an obligation to those considering this facility for their loved one. I will say this, as a whole if you want good consistent care, compassion, knowledgeable workers, enough workers to give quality care etc., I WOULD NOT consider The Heritage of Overland Park! I must say Christina and Sam were very good. In the reviews posted here, some of the employees and the owner spent more time trying to convince you how wonderful they are and/or made excuses for bad reviews but instead they should’ve spent that time and energy towards proper training, memory care education, insist on compassion from their employees, preparing healthy fresh meals and reasonable rates (which can increase on you month to month). I had several meetings with the owner and leadership team over the 6-7 month stay to voice my displeasure of my husband’s care and nothing ever changed. I wasn’t able to transfer my husband elsewhere or I would have. I was a healthcare worker for 42 years, I know good care and I know unacceptable/bad care. Best of luck to those trying to find a wonderful facility for your loved one. My heart feels your pain and stress.

We moved my mom to The Heritage of Overland Park from another memory care facility. Huge difference in the quality of care. There was minimal staff turnover which is almost unheard of in this type of living arrangement. Very comforting to see and interact with the same staff on a consistent basis. I was kept informed about her medical issues and needs. I felt that not only was my mom cared for but the employees cared about her, too. I highly recommend this memory care community.

My father was medicated with someone else’s medication 2 times in a 7 day period. Negligence and irresponsibility are abound in this little facility.

Our dear Mother recently passed but she spent the last 14 months of her life at Heritage of Overland Park and as a family we feel very blessed that she was there and are very thankful for their care. We found the staff to be very kind and helpful and if any issues came up they were addressed politely and attentively. She had been in a couple other facilities for a short time but Heritage was by far the best. The end stages of life especially with Dementia can be very difficult but Heritage was a huge help as we walked through that journey with our dear Mother. Our entire family sincerely thanks them for the care and love they showed our Mother.

We recently moved my mom in here and the process was so smooth. The caregivers are so kind and patient. I believe it truly helps that the owner himself is on site every day working. It makes a huge difference. We love the staff here and although no one really wants to go to memory care, my mom always says this place is nice and all the people are nice and that is what matters most to us. They have been great. We highly recommend them.
May 2025
Absolutely wonderful owner and staff. They have worked with my sister for three years now and I’ve done an absolutely marvelous job with a very difficult situation! I would recommend them to anyone! The facility is beautiful and clean, the food is excellent and they have multiple ancillary services that come in, so outside arrangements do not need to be made for many things. So glad we found them!

This place was such a Godsend for my mother. The staff were very attentive to her care and needs. The first thing I noticed when looking into Heritage was it was very bright, cheery and fresh smelling. Heritage was always like this not just for my viewing.

I am one of those group of friends that visit every week by zoom, and Heritage's Bobby Isiaho has gone out of his way to make it easier for us. I really appreciate his good service.
February 2025
For many years each week Bobby at Heritage has been making sure as a group of friends we connect on Zoom with our friend who lives at Heritage. Bobby has been exceptionally caring in his interactions with our friend and has appreciated how important it is to us to have our weekly catchup. We are thankful Heritage has people as kind and considerate as Bobby working for them. As a result, we would highly recommend Heritage.

A group of friends visit weekly via Zoom with a resident and the staff do a great job of facilitating that process. Keep up the good work!

Steve has been very happy at Heritage. Since he has been there he has had many medical issues. I felt like these were always addressed with the utmost care and compassion. The staff have always been kind and caring as well as communicating with me promptly. It is a warm environment. I would definitely recommend Heritage.

My experience with Heritage has been wonderful! The staff are always pleasant and treat the residents with the utmost respect. If there are any changes or updates regarding my stepdad, Jenny, Mindy or other staff always call me immediately. I just love everyone at Heritage!
January 2025
We moved my husband to Heritage after a traumatic experience at another facility. We are so happy with our decision. Heritage provides quality care. The staff is very attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns. The size of the facility is a good fit for us. Often times other residents’ families who have been there longer tell us how much they like the staff and quality of care, which affirms our belief that we picked the right place. Kip, the owner, is very engaged with the staff and residents, which is comforting for us. There is consistency in staffing so they get to know the needs of their residents. They have been excellent in notifying me when something has changed in sleeping, eating, medication and behavior. We appreciate the hard work of the staff and so glad we’re at Heritage.

We recently moved my dad to Heritage after having a terrible experience at another facility. We are so relieved and at peace after only a few weeks. Within the first few days, my dad received more attention and care than he did the entire month at the other facility. The staff are in constant communication with us, and when they tell us something will be done, we can trust that it actually gets done in a timely manner. Kip has high expectations for his staff and his facilities, and it’s evident the staff care for the residents.

We moved our mom into The Heritage of Overland Park over 1 year ago and have never regretted it! We moved her from another memory care facility because the corporation that owned it, which was not even located in the same state, was making resident care decisions based on money, and not what is best for the residents. The Heritage is great! Kip (owner) has put together a fabulous team that is very accessible. And even Kip is available on site daily. They pay attention to needs, listen, and do the best thing for our loved one. The caregivers are sensitive to each individual’s needs. They treat the residents like family. The facility is clean and resembles a home environment, as opposed to a hospital-like nursing home. We are very thankful for the excellent care my mom is receiving. It gives us comfort knowing she is so well cared for.

Finding the right place for my mother was not an easy decision. The Heritage of Overland Park is wonderful. There are a lot of challenges with this population, but leadership and staff do an excellent job. Highly recommend!
January 2025
Our experience at Heritage has been positive. The staff is compassionate and dedicated. The facility is clean and welcoming, creating a home-like environment that promotes dignity and respect. We truly are grateful for the peace of mind that comes from knowing that my mom is safe and cared for. Also, my dad is able to spend as much time with her as he wants - plus they are always willing to feed him! Heritage has made a significant positive impact on our family. We highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality memory care for their loved ones.
January 2025
The thought, care and patience they have for dementia patients is amazing.
January 2025
My sister and I, who both live on the East Coast, moved our mother to The Heritage in April 2024. She had been at a multi-functional facility for years, beginning in Independent Living and ending in Assisted Living. We had just assumed that the facility she was at knew what they were doing. However, it became apparent that they were only after our money and did little to care for our mother as her needs increased. Moving her to The Heritage was eye-opening. It is a caring and intimate facility where everyone -- from the owner to the nurses and staff at each of the three houses -- behaves like a professional, and understands the complicated needs of someone suffering from dementia. Seeing how someone is cared for at a professional facility brought home to us just how substandard and neglectful the previous facility's treatment of our mother was. We are in constant communication with the nurses and staff in our mother's house regarding her treatment and needs. This is particularly important when her only family lives half way across the country. Having read articles about the systemic problems with caring for the elderly across the country, I am relieved that we found The Heritage. It is not part of a chain, and you can tell by the way they care for their residents that the owner and staff are well-trained and experienced in handling the challenging work of caring for those with dementia. Other reviews mentioned the price as "expensive." There is no such thing as an inexpensive memory care facility. I would prefer to pay the money to be assured that those caring for my mother are trained professionals who are, themselves, well-treated by their job. The head nurse in my mother's house has been with The Heritage for 11 years. That speaks for itself. I highly recommend The Heritage as a caring and professional facility for those suffering from dementia.
January 2025
My personal experience was a very wonderful experience from the owner to the staff! My mother was moved there and it was a very difficult decision to make and the one thing I can honestly say is that the staff and the facility is what helped me sleep at night knowing my mother was in the best place and we made the right decision to fit her needs. They answered all of our questions and our concerns and you could feel the love that they give to each resident they are amazing and if I ever would need this facility again I would highly recommend it and would use them again. The staff made a point to get to know each one of us personally and would always keep us up to date on any changes and recommended what the next steps in her care would be. I felt when mother passed away they had so much respect for us and the family that it was so touching and made the experience of losing her to this awful disease with peace and dignity and I am missing all of the residents and the staff as they became our friends and extended family. Yes there are some issues that could be fixed but as you know all health care facility's is a very tough job and it takes very special people to work in this field. I Plan to go back and visit when I am in Overland Park to see everyone and to pay my respects to them. Thank you for taking such great care of my mother!
December 2024
The care our loved one received was wonderful. The environment was warm and welcoming. The residents rooms are lovely with large picture windows. The staff became our friends during the short stay. We’re thankful for them everyday!
April 2022
My mother-in-law Juanita, aka "Queen", was a resident for eight years. To say the leadership was accommodating is an understatement. As I continue to communicate, the worst day at The Heritage (TH) was better than the best day at other facilities we encountered. TH will always have a special place in our hearts! There are not enough positive adjectives to describe our appreciation; we consider TH as part of our family.

It's a small facility , 48 rooms total, that focus on memory care only. Not like the others places that can be bigger and confusing. The staff is very helpful, observant and friendly. The upper management is pretty good too. Expensive but a nice place if you can afford it for your loved one.
November 2018
The care is good, but prices go up in an inconsistent manner. The food is mostly from a can, which as another person wrote "good" for some. Personally I prefer fresh food. My family has difficulty eating there with their grandfather. No fresh anything. I prefer to have lunch with my children at mission trail elementary school. They raised our rates and promised a food change, but it appears that didn't change. The people who work there are nice. Sam and Camri genuinely do a good job. The staff cares for him, and he is better for it.
