I had toured a few places before deciding on Greenlake Senior Living for my father. When I went on the tour, the staff asked if he would like to join them in a game of trivia (at the time his dementia was pretty advanced, like knew he knew me but not why or where). As I toured everyone was super friendly and kind, I could tell that they were doing upgrades to the facility as well. When it was time to leave, my father wasn't ready to go, that settled it. He felt comfortable there. He lived there for just over six months and had the best care. I would stop in a few times a week if even for 10 minutes, at first it was to check on him because you hear nightmare stories about putting loved ones in any type of place. Then I realized how much care he was getting. I definitely did not have the capacity to help him and keep him entertained while working. His safety was my first priority. Even up until his final days, he was loved and cared for by everyone there. I also got to know some of the other residents, as well as the team. I think it actually helped him to live a fuller last few months with all the people around. I would suggest you go for yourself if you are in a situation where caring for your loved one has become difficult. You can read all the reviews you want, firsthand experience is the best way to decide. I hope you and your family allow yourselves to be a family and let Greenlake do the work for you. It definitely allowed me to enjoy my dad in his final months. As difficult as this disease, you are reminded to live in their world, and the team understands that.

Posted notice all week regarding 'Ice Cream Sundays', @ 2PM pm on Sundays (in the library).......................... 2PM Sunday rolls around, and the workers have no idea what the residents are gathered for. No ice cream Sundays........nothing. This place needs either some oversite, or to be fined or shut down.

Im remaining anonymous in fear of retaliation against my loved one, but Greenlake senior living is a dump of a facility! the lack of care that the residents receive is absolutely horrible! they have thrown my family members personal belongings away, and they fail to update family members when there's an issue of any kind, IE; when residents fall! The care staff do not engage with the residents ever!! Everytime I have come to visit my family member, usually Sundays and Mondays in the morning, I witness the care staff sitting at the table or in the corner talking amongst themselves while residents are left alone at the table, nodding off and almost hitting their heads on the tables. Alot of times, residents reek of urine and I have witnessed on many occasions residents pants soaked through. The fact that I have to worry about what goes on every time I leave is the reason I'm searching for a new facility to place my loved one. I wouldn't wish that type of care on my worst enemy!

I am a contractor that has done a lot of work inside the building and the staff has been excellent! Especially dean and Corina woodly. They are always friendly and this property takes great pride in their fire alarm system!

I recently went and had a tour with a friend. Beautiful property,spacious living areas to accommodate residents, friends and family.friendly staff, on site kitchen staff. The best part was the activities. They have so much to keep residents engaged it was great. We briefly spoke with the activities director Corrina and she was absolutely wonderful.

While some of it seemed hard to understand... like what to do once the phone number is input, the rest worked great. Now that I am in the data base, I suspect that checking in will only require a phone number, although this is only speculation. Perhaps some instructions prior to filling out the checking, would clear that all up.

Coming to the decision to move my parents to a care facility was difficult and after visiting many places this is the one that felt like home. I loved that every visit, the residents were all in the common room.. one resident was playing the piano with others gathered around singing. Another day they were playing a Paul McCartney video and several were singing and dancing. The rooms are quite large and the wings all open up to a sunny yard with seating, raised gardens, and tables. The staff have been excellent two weeks in and my parents are settled and comfortable. Great place!

One cannot appreciate the love and caring it takes to commit to a profession working with those with dementia until a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimers or other form of dementia. The team at OAR has been incredible - even amidst tge pandemic, which has isolated and separated our most vulnerable.

What a wonderful Alzheimer's residence! Prestige Olympic Alzheimer's Residence treated my mom like family. I visited enough to be able to see all the caregivers interact with her and it makes me tear up just thinking about how loving they were with her. I also observed how they treated other residents, especially the very challenging ones and I saw patience and kindness. Mom passed away recently and I'm so happy that she was at Prestige for her final days. I've recommended them to many people, I feel that good about the facility. A friend of mine's mother was there until her final day. And, her mother was a real pistol to be sure! Yet, she was treated with respect and kindness. I am so thankful to Prestige Olympic Alzheimer's Residence for the tender, loving care they showed my mother and me. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

i spent 3 weeks looking for a safe, caring, and friendly residence for my mom. i visited more than 20 facilities from federal way to olympia and chose olympic as the ideal place. although the mgmt team that was in place during the selection process has moved on, the replacement team is as good or better than their predecessors. everyone is friendly and caring with a smile and help whenever needed. the staff in the 3 neighborhoods are fantastic. they are always there for all the residents no matter the reason, and go out of their way to be as helpful as a person could ask for. there are daily activities, music, craft opportunities, and the very popular bus outings to the harbor area as well as pt defiance. the only thing i wish could be implemented would be weekly non denominational church services. this would be a good fit for the residents that cannot get to regular church services. my mom has been a resident at olympic for 3+ years now and i have never had the feeling that i wished i had placed her in a different facility.

What a beautiful, restful and happy place! We visited several times, both announced and unannounced, and it was always just like coming home. The residents were busy, comfortable and engaged. There was always a fun activity going on. So, we met with Stacey and made all the arrangements. She was so helpful. No matter how many times I called, or how many questions I had, she was always a willing and helpful resource. We really wanted Mom to live here. She had to move from a neighboring state, and there were hurdles to jump and rolls of red tape to get through first. Not because of OAR, just because that's the way things were. So she landed at a skilled nursing facility, which shall remain nameless. Maybe it wasn't their fault, but the caregivers just didn't seem to care and the atmosphere was less than homey. It certainly was no Olympic Alzheimer's Residence! Unfortunately, Mom never made it to the home we wanted for her at OAR. She passed away just two days before her move-in date. Amazingly, our greatest support during the difficult times of transition, frustration and loss, was Stacey at OAR! I am so grateful and blessed just to have had the pleasure of experiencing this wonderful place and amazing people. This is "home" for that loved one who needs a specialized Alzheimer's residence. I wish it could have been Mom's.
