My husband (Pastor Nate) was a resident and he was well respected. The staff showed kindness and compassion to him.The Facility was well kept and had a welcoming atmosphere.. Even though it was a short stay for him, I believe that the care for him was outstanding. Brookdale was home away from home for Pastor Nate. He is in Heaven now and our family would like to say THANK YOU and God bless your staff.

We just wanted to say how wonderful Brookdale Senior Living has been to my grandmother on her Birthday! What a wonderful community! My mon was here for the past year. The Administrator, Marc is exactly what the community needed after so much turnover. He is so kind and knowledgeable. The staff is wonderful and my dad gets wonderful care. The new Activity girl is great! I am happy with Brookdale Virginia Beach.

I have visited Brookdale on three occasions. I’ve met the regional director, Brooke and the local Director Mark I’ve been given a tour more than once during each of these visits. They were very well aware of the age of my husband with early onset Alzheimer’s, he is 55. This was never kept a secret. They sent someone to do an assessment and never followed through as they said they would with a Callback to explain any of the decisions that were made in regards to that assessment. I found out from a placement specialist that my husband was declined due to his age saying he had to be 62. I find it interesting that they never mentioned that before, that they would schedule an assessment if he had to be 62 so the reality is, they don’t seem to even know their own rules and regulations. Their lack of professionalism and follow through was a huge disappointment and revalidated my lack of faith in Home Care facilities. If this is how they act before you even placed your loved one there, I can’t imagine how they’d behave if there was a real issue with your loved one once you placed them there. I would like to add that there has still been no response from Brookdale so it doesn’t seem they take your concerns seriously as stated a few weeks ago! Still radio silence and no follow through. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

I recently had the pleasure of touring Brookdale Virginia Beach. When you walk in they make you feel like you are home. Tessie gave me a wonderful tour of the building. The staff were very inviting and very sociable. The HWD answered all my questions that I had about memory care. I love the music playing in the background during the meals. It made the atmospheric feel like fine dining. Brookdale is definitely at the top of my list.

I'm endlessly grateful to Michelle, the Executive Director, and the entire caring team at Brookdale Va. Beach. Our Mommy has been at the residence for several years now and she is enjoying each day of life and is in extremely good hands. GRATEFUL! Seeing her engaged with the other residents in activities, singing along to the songs, and getting involved with the daily Trivia Program makes me smile. She is loved and happy. THANK YOU, Brookdale, you make a possibly difficult journey of watching an aging parent move forward each day -- into a very blessed set-up that is touching. I highly recommend Brookdale in Virginia Beach, VA for any families with memory care needs. Brookdale is beautiful building with a great leadership staff. They are professional and caring. Each resident gets a lot of personal attention and care. They have a lot of different activities to keep our loved ones engaged and a very comfortable courtyard to spend time when it’s nice outside. The staff is very experienced and are prepared to cope with and issues that may arise. It’s conveniently located and the rooms are big. Brookdale reminds me of a home away from home. You can’t go wrong.

She answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable with placing my mother at this facility. Brookdale Virginia Beach works with the residents and their family to include the resident in all activities. If the resident wants to be involved- they are. If the resident wants to be alone- that’s ok too. Although my wife is in the latter phase of this terrible disease, she loves to be with others. Efforts are made to permit her to be with the other residents as much as possible. This is important to my wife. So this is important to me.

Rebecca Condrey is one of the program managers that is dedicated to ensure engagement is conducted within the person centered programs at this facility.
