Reviews Colonial Oaks at Rockwall
August 2024
My mother had a stroke 1 1/2 years ago. Little did I know all the ups and downs that were about to occur. Taking cars keys away was hard, but moving her out of her house of 48 years was the hardest. The Colonial Oaks choice seemed easy. I had been in many other facilities, but this was different. In my 45 minutes, I observed the residents, and they all seemed happy and at ease. I could picture my mother fitting in well there. I talked with residents and family members while I was there. I work in healthcare, and have been in town for over 35 years, so networking to find others who had family members there was my strongest factor. Everything I heard was positive. I made the choice within a few days, and that was the best decision I have made in the past 1 1/2 years. My mother passed last week, and Colonial was able to keep her at her new home with hospice care. Many of the employees have become family. There is always some guilt and regret about things not done or said, but I never worried that my mom was being taken care of and loved. Forever thankful to Colonial Oaks Rockwall. Too many names to mention so I won't as fear to leave someone out. Rick Zivney

My mom has been a resident of Colonial Oaks for three plus years, recently suffered a fall incident and was in the hospital for a fractured left femur. Because of her being frail, she was not a candidate for any type of surgery. Decision time came whether to get her in some form of rehab facility, skilled nursing facility, or a nursing home in the near-term. After much discussion with the hospital doctor, the Director of Colonial Oaks and family, we formulated a plan to get her back into her familiar environment at Colonial Oaks. While Colonial wasn't 100% prepared to handle the full spectrum of care needed at the moment, working with Josie and her team, she put a plan in motion to implement the required things needed to accommodate mom going directly back into the center. Josie and her team were phenomenal taking immediate action to get things ready for mom's arrival. The entire team has gone way above and beyond to make this work instead of putting mom in another strange place for a short stay. The team has gone out of their way to show they really care about each resident and are compassionate through and through. They even sent caregivers to the hospital to sit with mom when the family needed to be away for a while. This recent journey hasn't been without it's challenges, but the Colonial Oaks team stepped up their game and showed what they are really made of. Awesome blessing to the family.

As a nurse in this industry for 30 years, I believe Colonial Oaks of Rockwall is a loving and caring community, that supports their families in the care of their loved ones; who are no longer or able to care for them themselves. I know Colonial Oaks staff do their due diligence making every attempt to honor and care for their clients and their families as much as possible.

Colonial Oaks has been such an amazing, uplifting, caring place. Having a loved one with Alzheimer's is a devastating journey, but knowing that we have the constant support, guidance, and professionalism of the wonderful staff here has made all the difference to us. I can't praise them highly enough. They have been lifesavers for our family.

Moving my wife to Colonial Oaks Assisted Living was a difficult decision, but after reviewing and visiting other facilities it was the best decision. The staff is very caring and they go beyond to help my wife feel safe and comfortable.

We're so happy with my aunt's care and we love the staff!!!

I am so glad to be apart of the Colonial Oaks family. Where we can love and serve our neighbors!
January 2024
We made the difficult decision to move mom into an assisted living/memory care facility after having her live in our house for 7 years. Colonial Oaks was recommended by two friends so we started with respite care. They earned our trust and mom seemed happy during her stays. We couldn't have made a better choice. Top notch caring staff in every role. Josie, Morgan, Patricia, and of course, Shelley were great. Shelley's activities kept mom engaged and happy. Nursing and support staff( especially Kenetra) are truly caring from the heart.

My wife has been a resident for 4 years. The staff consistently are professional, caring, and compassionate. There are a reasonable variety of engagement venues daily for the residents, including musician involvement at least weekly if not more often. While the facility is a bit undersized, occupancy seems to be generally full. While admittedly, the heavy use of furniture results in soiling at a high rate, the facility cleans the furniture regularly. More frequent replacement of the furniture would be ideal. I have been content with nearly all aspects of care of my wife. Improvement in reducing clothing loss due to inconsistency in washing/redistribution is needed.

This is a great community for loved ones. My grandmother is there now and she is always active with the caregivers there when I come to visit. She loves the food as well. Great communication with the staff members. She looks well taken care of and happy.

My daughter and I brought over some of our Nigerian dwarf goats to interact with the residents at the request of the Director. The staff was highly attentive and caring to make sure the residents Had a fun experience. They were brought out just a few at a time and made sure that the patients got to have a positive experience with these very tame goats and goat kids. There was a lot of laughter and smiles on the faces of these residents. I could tell they were really well cared for and happy to be living at colonial Oaks. What a fun and original experience to be had by all!

February 2023
The staff are just excellent. Caring, engaging with the residents, planning activities that bring joy to the residents, etc. Every aspect from food preparation, to medical, to care providers, to the business office, activity planners, to the executive staff are top-of-the-line.

My brother has been a resident here for 6 months. At first he had a hard time adjusting to his new environment but they were patient with him. He was very thin when he started his residence but now is at a normal weight. The place is always nice & clean when we visit. The setting & atmosphere is more like a hotel then a care facility.
February 2023
Happy to join the team and see how interactive everyone is . Definitely welcoming and very friendly . As well as sanitary and organized . Looking forward to making a difference and placing the residents health first .

A Place for Mom set up three homes for us to tour. The first two were Assisted Living With A Memory Care wing. They were nice but I didn't feel that Mom would get the special care that she needed. When I toured Colonial Oaks which is 100% Memory Care, that was the place. The staff there are very attentive and caring. Mom's room is nice and cozy and there's lots of activities to keep her entertained through the day. I really like the 9:00 a.m. devotional which was important to Mom. For anyone looking for a great Memory Care Facility I highly recommend Colonial Oaks.

It's pretty telling when the only negative reviews come from disgruntled former employees who were trouble-makers and instigators (which is why they don't work there anymore). The new management staff (for the last 18 months or so) are so professional and caring. One couldn't expect a loved one to get this kind of attention except from family! Ways to improve are always being considered as well as the most comprehensive and compassionate methods to care for the residents AND the staff. Great job to all that are there!

I gave this place a 2 star because the managers allow abuse to keep happening when complaints were made and they allowed those workers stay there and even hired one back after she verbally mistreated a resident infront of others. So please keep an eye out for how the way your loved ones are reacting towards others but besides all of that... The residents are amazing and so glad to be able to have spent my time with them 🙂

My mom resided at Revere Court of Rockwall for many months before her passing. I feel truly blessed that we were able to find a community as unique as Revere Court. Revere Court does a wonderful job of recognizing the needs of their residents and adjusting their care accordingly. The activities and regular interaction helped my mom find joy everyday which, in turn, helped my family with becoming part of a Memory Care community. Thank you to the management and caregivers for the blessing they are.

March 2020
Definitely gone down hill since became Revere Court (was Autumn Leaves). Staff is awesome and friendly, but Director does not know what she is doing, how to manage a facility or staff. Staff now sit in kitchen rather than with residents, rooms and floor are dirty, bugs on the floor, and the whole place smells bad. It used to be much better. We had to leave, but were sad to leave most of the staff as they were really wonderful and caring. Weve been to other places in Rockwall that arent much better, unfortunately.

They take excellent care of my Mom. My Mom formerly lived in assisted-living. Sometimes I would not see any staff the entire day I was there visiting. One thing I like about Revere Court is the number of care staff available. Its a small community and anyone who is working is willing to help whether they are assigned to that particular hall or not. I also like that I can call or text any member of management and receive a response. The workers seem happy and friendly with one another. I eat lunch there one or two times per week and find that the food is very good. One thing the residents enjoy is all of the live music. I am not usually there at that time, as I leave in the early afternoon, but I have seen many pictures and videos of entertainment. I am much more relaxed now, but when I first brought my mom in I asked a lot of questions. Although I had read quite a bit about dementia, its a lot different when you deal with it every day. I appreciate the time they took to explain things to me. Revere Court is an excellent place to trust the care of your family.
November 2019
Autumn Leaves is a very nice place that has lots of activities for their residents and provides very good clinical and emotional care. The administration and staff really care for the residents and their families. This would be a good place to trust your loved one with.
September 2019
Excellent care, excellent management Staff is busy, attentive to all types of residents Note that Autumn Leaves is specialized care for Dementia. You wont be asked to move out as the disease worsens. They keep you on track with education and support. Great family to family support, everyone is like a friend. I just appreciate the care of my Dad- he has some behaviors that other places wont take. Ill never move him- he can stay at this home til he passes. The food is good, lots of activities. There isnt just one person doing activities, seems the whole staff is involved Great place !
August 2019
My Mother has lived here 1.5 years. She is very well cared for. Staff treats her like family. When I visit, my Mom thinks she is an employee, thats her Dementia. The staff is patient with everyone. The food is good, lots of things always going on to stay busy. Its more like a home not a facility. My mom was in rehab 3 weeks, it was awful. As soon as she returned to AL, she stabilized. Great place
May 2019
A clean; friendly place. They care deeply for residents. Sometimes laundry gets lost or some small issue, but the food is good, lots of activities . The nurse was promoted to ED and its been a positiv change. Laundry better, building cleaner, food good. Always staffed and the employees are happy and smiling. There have been som e difficult residents there but the staff manages well.
