The Manager Sheri, staff Peggy and Paris and all are absolutely wonderful! They were very good to my father during his stay and I very much appreciate them! Also, thank you Tina from the cafeteria. My name is Theresa Kamensky. I have lived at Town Village of Sterling Heights for almost two years. It is my pleasure to write a review of my experiences here. It is challenging to focus on only one aspect of life from the outstanding menu, served by kind, diligent servers, to the hardworking maintenance staff, to the extensive activity program, called Life Enrichment, that provides stimulation to both the mind and body. Our Secretarial staff is the glue that maintains order with about 250 residents. The Motto",It is like home, t IS home. truly reflects life here.

From the moment my mom selected Town Village of Sterling Heights, I new it was a place where both comfort and independence thrived. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a strong sense of community that makes every resident feel valued and supported. The staff is exceptional - always friendly, compassionate, and attentive to the needs of the residents. They go above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels at home, while also respecting the independence that makes this community so special. Whether it's the daily activities, personalized care, or just a friendly chat, they take the time to connect with each individual. Most importantly is that the facility is kept extremely clean and the food delicious! For anyone considering senior independent living, please consider Town Village of Sterling Heights. Julie was amazing and very patient as she showed us a number of apartments and made sure all are questions were answered. Even though she had another appointment after us she did not rush us along in any way. She even provided a wheelchair for my sister. Very kind and thoughtful. I love all the amenities that are offered. We stayed for dinner and the food was excellent. Saw no negatives and am looking forward to becoming a permanent resident.

My father (Jim McMahon) has been living at Town Village since February and it has been terrific for him. After living with my sister for 14 months it was time he got back to being social again. Now he plays cards several times a week and has entertainment activities several times a week. We're so glad my sister found this facility. It's been a very positive experience. If your elderly loved one, or you, for that matter, is able to get around and do for themselves, but it's no longer safe at home, or you're weary of taking care of a house and cooking every night, this might be the very best independent living place in Southeast Michigan. It's certainly one to consider. There are lots of activities: exercise classes in the workout room, aqua classes in the pool (say what?! a pool?), tours and lunches, shopping trips, buses to three different churches on Sunday mornings, a Bible study once a week, Euchre games, Bingo, brain games, WII bowling, crafts. Let's move on to the dining room. This is where my mother found her greatest pleasure, sitting with other people and socializing for sometimes several hours. The dining room is open from 7 am to 7 pm except for a half-hour before lunch and a half-hour before supper. The food is excellent. My favorites were the salmon cakes and the parmesan-crusted chicken. My husband says they have the best liver and onions in the area, and he loved the burgundy mushrooms. There are two coffee stations where you can get coffee throughout the day. There's a fruit stand where you can get bananas, oranges, apples, and grapefruit any hour of the day. There's a library with computers, a craft/games room with a sewing machine you can use, and a luxurious auditorium/theater room where movies play every evening. There are frequent music presentations appropriate for a mature crowd. My husband and I plan to move here when we're ready to sell our house, assuming all goes as hoped.

wonderful place to stay very nice one bedroom apartment with kitchen and bath and a dining room for 3 meals a day and pool hot tub and an exercise room plus many activities available all day long and a nice snack bar for quick bites like soup and snacks and coffee. They also have a nice fruit bar with resh fruit all day long. Everyone is very friendly and easy to talk to and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The residents are friendly, but most are in wheelchairs and walkers, so it is an older crowd but still lots of fun. Everything is included in the rent so nothing to worry about just sit back and enjoy everything.

The Gem memory care took care of my mother from January through August. She passed in September. She was well cared for during her stay. Communication was good and timely. It's a very nice place, staffed by caring individuals.

My mom just moved into this facility a few days ago, and so far the experience has been wonderful. Apartment is spacious and pretty, staff and residents have been very friendly and helpful and we are very pleased with the amenities. From the time that we started talking to Christina about my mom’s unique needs with regard to a senior community, through move in, it has been a very positive experience so far! Jason even came to the apartment the first evening to fix something so that there was no inconvenience for my mom. Looking forward to seeing my mom make new friends and take advantage of all there is to offer.

I have been at Town Village for about 10 months now and you couldn't get me to leave. I'm kind of a shy person when I don't know someone but that didn't last long. The residents are all so friendly and accepting. The food is quite tasty, and there is entertainment at least twice a month. Then there's the craft room, lots of activity going on in there. The staff is very helpful and will do anything they can for you or help you get help. I was afraid I was going to be treated like a child, and it's not like that at all. Anyone could be happy to live here!!

2023 Update: My friend enjoys Town Village more every day. He's been living there for over 1 year and cannot imagine living anyplace else. Other senior living centers are opening in the area; he's checked them out and they DO NOT compare in price, amenities, food or activities. I continue to visit on a regular basis and I'm always impressed with the Staff. Great job and thank you for keeping my friend safe & happy. Peggy I love this place! My friend lives here and it's so nice to visit. Super clean, beautiful grounds, very nice dining room and great activities. Something is always happening. Staff is super nice.

I am very impressed with the staff at Town Village. My parents moved in a short while ago and after my Father’s recent passing, my Mother, Billie M. has become one of the more popular residents with the entire staff and other residents. At least it appears that way to me. We visit often and enjoy the atmosphere and restaurant quality dining, as well as the positive interaction with all the servers and waitstaff.

My mom has been at Town Village for seven years - it has truly become her home. She loves her two bedroom apartment overlooking a courtyard, the activities, and being able to take a shuttle to stores and not rely on us to take her places. Continues to be a welcoming community of seniors. Enjoy the luxury of no longer needing to grocery shop, prepare meals or do dishes. Have participated in outings: the dinner theatre, lunch at local restaurants and trips to Detroit landmarks like Belle Isle. Enjoyed hosting family members for various holiday meals. Weekly rosary and monthly mass are a plus for me. Plenty of activities in house to keep one busy and entertained. Wi bowling is one of my favorites along with pinochle and play readings. My car is protected from the weather by my carport spot. Resident Council works for all us. Administration is available and responsive.

I just moved into Town Village 3 weeks ago and I immediately felt at home. I've already been to some of the entertainment. We had a Motown singer, magician, and movies in the theater many evenings. The pool is beautiful and my grand children and great grandsons.are looking forward to joining me to swim. The food is very good and there is always food available somewhere. The dining room, Bistro, pantry. They even have a little shop in case you run out of anything. I am so glad I made this change. I feel safe and have fun everyday. A very nice group of ladies invited to have dinner with them. The residents are very friendly. It's like living on a cruise ship.

Town Village in Sterling Heights provided the answer in dealing with my aging parents and my handicapped sister. Most facilities wanted to separate my parent from my sister because my requires so much more daily care. Town Village offered the solution that kept them all together. They love the great entertainment as well as having a pool, gym and hair salon all under the same roof. The staff is kind and very caring and we couldn’t be more thankful for the care they are giving my sister. All in all I would highly recommend Town Village of Sterling Heights

Staff is friendly and helpful. My brother is making more friends daily. The interiors are very clean. The restaurant has a great menu to choose from, and it tastes great. Small music programs are happening, along with field trips being available. It is quiet and a non-smoking facility. I no longer worry about my brother at night.

My mother, Linda Y., lives at Town Village. She wanted me to help her write the review as she's been very happy there. She loves it and considers it her new home. She describes the food as "wonderful", plentiful, and likes that there is always a variety of it available. She feels the staff are very "caring" and "loving". I have worked in management in the Senior Living Industry for over 10 years. When we unexpectedly had to find a place for my Grandmother after a stroke, no other community in the Sterling Heights area compared to Town Village. I was impressed with everything from the friendliness of the staff to the variety of food and activities offered. My grandmother told me she didn’t move in for the activities or food, but now she is walking down to each meal and activity daily. I truly think that her continued social engagement opportunities at Town Village are keeping her spirit high when she lost some of her independence. Swimming has always been one of her favorite hobbies and the fact that she can take her Great Grandchildren swimming with her is the icing on the cake.

The facility is very clean, the people that work there are very friendly. My mother-law lives there and she likes living there and so does my uncle. The bathrooms are very clean. The cafeteria has great food and the staff are very courteous, very helpful and fast at serving. I’ll probably apply there when I get old enough.

My Mom and Dad moved in several years ago, after leaving their family home of 60 years. The transition went smoothly and with minimal trauma to my parents. TV has been wonderful. My father has since passed away, and we moved my mom into a smaller apartment. The staff has been wonderful, the dining room superb, and the list of activities is endless. We have been very pleased with the care my parents have received and would recommend Town Village to anyone!! My mom’s words, I couldn’t find a better place to live. I love it!

My Mom has lived there for 8 months now. It was a hard move to leave her own home at 95 years old. But, it was the best thing we did for her. She is now closer to all 5 daughters. I couldn’t get to her house in a hurry because I lived over an hour away. Now we don’t have that worry. The staff is always available and are there within minutes. They have a nice selection of food and plenty of activities to join in. My Mom knows more people in her community here than before she moved. I called maintenance about her window and they were in her apartment before I had a chance to call her and tell her they were coming! Every worker is very friendly, kind and polite. I don’t think any of them ever have a bad day!

The local management team tries very hard to make living at Town Village as pleasant as possible. I have found them to be very responsive to my needs. There is a great variety in the food menu which makes it possible to always find something I would like to eat. Meals are not always perfect, but generally my meals are good to very good. I have been here 10 years so obviously I am well satisfied.

Some of the kindest, most caring people lead the efforts at Town Village Sterling Heights. During the pandemic, they showed complete transparency, with great communication, and an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible. On-going efforts include vaccination days and random testing to ensure wellness. The care team (through AdvisaCare), while new to this site, is doing a terrific job to maintain quality care and good health among residents. While not perfect, they are regularly evaluating and adjusting their plan. As an adult child of a current resident, I feel like my concerns (when I have had them) have been heard and addressed immediately. I am grateful for all the folks at Town Village Sterling Heights : Julie (who helped me know on DAY 1 I had made the right decision)- to Sheri's leadership through Covid - to Peggy at the front desk (always with a wave and a smile) to Vanika in AdvisaCare (who makes my mom feel like she is the most important resident) and to Megan in Dining Services, who is "all-in" all the time. This was very difficult decision for us to make- moving mom out of her home, and I am glad we found Town Village. My mom has her new home there, and we are all equal parts relieved and grateful.

My father has been living here for the past six years, and has told me repeatedly he never wants to leave - I can't think of a stronger, simpler endorsement of the quality of the facility and staff at Town Village. The building and facilities are showing some age, but the maintenance and facilities teams stay on top of things and keep everything running smoothly. From personal experience, they are always willing to go out of their way to take care of small personal requests from the residents (hanging frames, etc). The food services are reliable and good. The wait staff are patient and friendly. The transportation services go above and beyond; the drivers are kind and patient with the residents, and you can tell they actually care about the passengers and do the little things to make their trips more enjoyable. But the thing that impresses our family the most about Town Village is the management - in particular the last few years. Trying to manage a senior facility of 300+ in the midst of a pandemic was/is a Herculean task, and the management of Town Village guided the staff and residents through it with aplomb. Walking a fine line to keep residents safe, yet comfortable, in the face of the dangers of COVID was a masterclass in leadership and decision-making. The rules were tightened and loosened at just the right times : flexing to let the residents enjoy their life as much as possible without having their health and safety compromised. I implicitly trust the team at Town Village with my dad's safety and happiness.

They have ComforCare on site if the resident requires additional care (as mine does). The place is vibrant and clean. The entire staff is quite amazing. We are so happy we moved my Mom here! She has dementia and they are very good with her! 5 stars all around!

My Mom became part of Town Village Community April 2017. She resided here until August 2020. Because of management by Sheri and changes she implemented, our decision to move to The Gem was easy. The kindness, cleanliness of facility, true caring and concern by staff working with Sheri and Sandy, made the transition much easier. I highly recommend moving your loved one to Town Village or The Gem, whichever bests fills the needs of your family member.

Town Village has a nice mix of men and women residents who are fairly active and social. They have two buses and a van to assist in transportation needs. It is a good choice for someone looking for a independent life style but with a full meal service and housekeeping..
