We have been here 13 1/2 months. We find the food to be unhealthy, particularly for seniors who suffer from high blood pressure, pre-diabetes and diabetes, and chronic kidney disease, to name a few common se ior medical conditions.

I was given a letter on behave of a resident. The letter said " My name is Mrs. C and I am a new resident here a American House East 1. What I find most amazing about living here is the staff. They are truly an amazing group of helpful people. From the administration team to the housekeeping to the housekeeping and maintenance crew to the concierge staff. Lets not forget about the Chef and the waiting staff. People ask me how do you like living here? I tell I feel like I'm on vacation! Thanks American House!! Sincerely Mrs. C "

We reviewed the American House East1 for a place where my mother-in-law could live. Her health was declining and we wanted a place that would be able care for her. We met with Amanda Beaudoin and she took the time to explain the different options of care that were available, whether our mother-in-law needed simple accommodations or basic medical care attention. We took a tour of the place and were happy with the living accommodations available. I noticed they had an activity schedule posted for every day. There was also a small non-denominational chapel available for prayer time. During our tour we briefly met some of the support persons who were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

After many years of independent living, my 92 year old mother finally made the shift to assisted living. We had looked at this facility multiple times and worked with Amanda Pomaville to find the best fit. Amanda's ability to make this feel like a new home was key to selecting this particular site instead of others.

Totally impressed. When I first walked in, I was amazed. It's beautiful, clean and very welcoming. Amanda was so impressive. She was able to not only calm and comfort my mom, she made her feel welcome. By the time our visit was complete, my mom was very comfortable with moving in. No easy task, I assure you. I'm at ease knowing that my mom is going to be in a safe, nurturing environment. Thank you, Amanda, for making this transition so smooth. You're the best.

Its a nice facility and location but it seems like sometimes theyre overwhelmed. You can tell theyre making an effort, more so than some of the other places. I would tell them to staff up some more.

We all loved the Grandparents Day Celebration last week. My mother is fascinated by all the animals present and the group that brings them in spent a lot of time explaining pertinent facts to us and allowing us to pet them. Hooray for this kind of activity.

Like any place there is the good and the bad. Freedom Place Roseville is beautiful and has the potential to be a good place for memory care but there are severe management issues. Will C. the manager is a paycheck employee who seems to have little regard for the actual welfare of the residents and is always cutting corners, passing the buck and not addressing real and urgent issues, some that can truly impact the residents. He also seems to cater to at least one of the caregivers way to much for it to be only professional. It is really hard to believe he is also a registered nurse. He also cant stick to professional criticism, he always has to take it further by degrading the women who work there with unnecessary personal remarks to put them down. It is all on the caregivers and other staff to ensure that things run smoothly. His croney Marlene probably means well but is sucked in by not wanting to be on the wrong side of the manager. She knows her stuff but is much to gruff for customer service almost like a prison warden in her demeanor. This place has lost some super good caregivers by Will nitpicking at things like 5 minutes late, or car problems or babysitters not showing up on time. Some of the ladies are single moms and can use a little slack like flextime whereas some always on timers who slack on the job and talk rudely to residents stay on. Too bad John F. cant be the manager. He is well liked and is so in tune with the residents and the families. The bottom line: The care of the people who live there should be first and foremost and their welfare and concerns need to be met without fail. Caregivers should be rated on the care they give, not if they are late 5 minutes 3 times in a month.

My mom is so happy here! I have no worries about her well being. The staff is caring, kind and gentle. It was such a smooth transition from living with us into assisted living, and at 92 years old that says it all. She loves the food, the frequent entertainment, and the games. Everyone is very friendly!
