River Commons is Awesome! My mom moved in about a year ago. We researched many places and River Commons stood out by far. The residents are friendly and happy to meet you. The staff are warm and treat you like family. The d©cor is inviting and homey. The seasonal displays are spectacular. The daily activities are varied and give her great options. I am thankful that my mom is part of the River Commons community!

The staff and management at River Commons are truly personal , professional and very kind people. My mom lived here for a year and she absolutely loved it ! She wanted to be around peers and do activities, this place fit the bill ! She was very happy and grateful for the close friends she made here and loved the entire staff here too. The management is outstanding and they really care about each resident and they are so welcoming too. I spent a lot of time here with my mom and there is truly a feeling of family here . For my mom, living at River Commons brought a great deal of happiness and joy to her life especially after she lost her husband. She told me living at River Commons was exactly what she needed and wanted after losing her loving husband. Very sadly my mom has recently passed away , but it gives my heart, joy and contentment that she loved it here so much. I would highly recommend River Commons to anyone !

A suite type of lodging, with a living room separate from the bedroom. There is real, usable, cable television, honest! Full sized refrigerator and a little porch, if the temperature permits. Staff is very accommodating.

My mother has been staying at River Commons Senior Living for some time now. Every time I visit her I stay in the guest suite on the property, I eat the meal and participate in the social activities The food is great and all the residents and staff are like one big happy family. Redding is a beautiful town and has a lot to offer. I will continue to visit my mother frequently and stay on the property in the guest suite. Prior to construction River Commons was determined to be a facility of excellence. Following some 30 years of service, River Commons deviates only from its mandate of excellence by offering greater excellence. The shower head in each room each apartment is of the finest quality and design, the food is gourmet. Interior design and finish offers a field trip of visual beauty and appreciation. Pictured is my example of the unfailing excellence Plus seen in every facet of this monument it is a post to prevent entry into a walkway for the purposes of safety. That post would be box steel powder coated flange bolted to the cement in nearly any other construction scenario. However, River Commons chose to make that simple post of 2 in stainless steel solid rounded at the top, smooth and clean without markings, there are reflectors at the top and the bottom. it is set perfectly in the cement with no filler , the hole having been drilled perfectly and there is no movement it is solid and strong and will never rust nor need to be painted. That post is excellence Plus at a far greater expense and yet it brings a feeling of pride to me as a resident of this facility. Gary Mantei

Our experience at River Commons was wonderful. They treated my mother in law with the upmost respect and dignity. She would always comment on how hard everyone there worked to make the residents feel comfortable and cared for. She truly loved her apartment and her time there, especially the games and the biscuits and gravy!! Unfortunately after a few falls it became evident she could no longer stay there alone. She has moved to a higher level of care, but is so grateful for her time at River Commons. It was the perfect place for her and became her home. I live here. I am constantly surprised by the quality, variety, and flexibility of the food service. All of the staff care about me and know what I need to be happy here. Gabby, the event and game gal, is so fun. She makes sure everyone has a good experience. My day consists of a wonderful breakfast and then exercise if I choose. All the residents are friendly and welcoming. And then I can decide which activities to participate in. The sit-down dinner is delicious and healthy. Sometimes I take supper to my room to eat. I want to go on and on. I will end by saying I am completely amazed at how it is different and better than what I had imagined senior living to be.

When confronted with the realization that my Mom could no longer stay in her home alone, we began searching for an independent senior living facility. We looked at several, and while they all had pros and cons, River Commons just stood out well above every other place we visited. The staff especially stood out. With 30 years of law enforcement behind me, I’m all about getting a good feeling from the staff of any establishment, especially when it’s my family involved. We stopped every staff person we came across and every single one was attentive and never came across as in a hurry or too busy to talk. Everyone went out of their way to ensure my questions were answered to my satisfaction and that we had everything we needed. It may sound silly, but the food was absolutely fantastic! We had several meals and all were very good, not bland or skimpy at all. Every area was clean, tidy and in great condition. There were no shortcuts taken on maintenance or upkeep I’m one of those folks who open up things like maintenance panels to see if only the visible areas are cared for or if the unseen is also kept up and everything was top-notch. Kudos to the team at River Commons! Many of the staff have been here over 10 years, and that alone speaks volumes as to the working conditions..and it shows. The staff are happy, and most importantly the many residents we inquired with had nothing but great things to say about living here.

My dad moved into River Commons a few months after my mom died. He was heartbroken and didn’t want to move, but he was unable to take care of his house and property any longer. He found this place and decided it was the one. They made him feel at home, and although my dad said he’d never play bingo, he decided to try it once. He had so much fun he played almost every time. The staff is amazing, always kind, and they treated my dad like a family member. Jennifer was so kind, and always did whatever she could to help. My dad’s health declined and he had to be moved into hospice. He hated leaving his Home bit will carry his memories with him. Thank you to everyone who made my dad’s life so good there. I truly appreciate it, and so does he.

Not only is my brother very happy, but I find River Commons staff to be very nurturing and involved with the residents. There are lots of activities to choose from, and outings to local restaurants, etc. The place is delightful!!! I feel exceptionally fortunate to have found River Commons, and there actually was space available for my brother!!

My mom and I went to about 4 different places locally that came highly recommended. Some were too old, some too new and some were too expensive. River Commons was just right. The staff are great and the only thing that beats that are the residents. What I like is that they serve a noon meal together. The residents sit together and the service staff wait on them and serve them. It's a chance for the residents to get to know eachother and be social. Another place in town that we looked at did 3 meals a day restaurant-style dining which initiallysounded lovely, but if you don't know anyone there you may be eating alone a lot. Independent Living is a transition for my mother. After living in a house for as long as I can remember and being married to my dad, apartment living and being a widow is a big change. Having staff and people there to keep an eye out has been so incredibly helpful. If you are looking to transition a loved one to an independent living community, I would highly suggest you give River Commons a try.

I toured and researched many places before my parents moved into River Commons. I can begin to say how wonderful it is. All of the staff are so kind and caring. My mom says she feels like they are family and I couldn't agree more.You can see they take pride in what they do and it shows. When you walk it feels like home. It is always nice and clean and comfy. One thing I notice is that everyone that works there is always smiling and helps make River Commons a happy place to be. There are plenty of activities to join in on. The food is FABULOUS! Restaurant quality made by the staff with a nice variety.

I have enjoyed my stay here for 18 months. The food is great. We have a great activity director. He keeps our activities coming. We have a bunch of activities daily. This keeps us fit and have fun things to do. We have one large activity once a month our building is turned into a place to visit.. Decoration, art work and food are all combined for a big party. We have partial maid service to make our living easy. We have a bus that takes us to doctors, shopping and just a ride for fun. I am in a wheel chair but my independence is unhampered with the RABA medical bus that takes me anywhere in the Redding area door to door.

I have lived here since August 2016, this is my home for a long time and I don't plan on moving. I love my apartment, I also have covered parking right outside. The meals are really good, I haven't been hungry since I've moved here. The bus trips are always fun and so are the activities, I call bingo several times a week.
