Great caring staff and doctors. Very informative and patient. Willing to help in every way.

My Mom has lived in the Parley Manor for over one year now. She reports being well pleased with the care and attention of the staff. She has had two ER visits during this time and I can say that the team there has communicated clearly their concerns and prioritized Mom’s care and her own autonomy.

My Dad was admitted for short term rehab at the Lutheran Home after a fall at Home. The entire staff was great including the nursing team, the therapists, social workers and admissions coordinator. Very Clean Facility, respectful work force that greets everyone kindly. Nurse Case Manager Monica W. actually took my Dad under her wings and made sure his time there was as pleasant as possible considering the stress that he was going thru to rehabilitate both mentally & physically.

They clearly needed more help at the time my mother was there and to hire help that want to do their specific duties. In my experience I found that: 1) The nurses didn't read my mothers medical chart for updates prior to their visit. At least 3 times... 2)They didn't seem to have an organized system for important updates and information available for the care team and between departments 3) Too many laxatives and water pills (she became dehydrated and had low electrolytes) and not consistent on another med. 4)I saw 4 call buttons on at one time and 40 minutes later not 1 had been turned off 5) The male nurse could've helped my mother and changed her "diaper" but instead ignored her and let her sit in her filth. 6) Case workers didn't have important info that affected my mother's release date 7) PT didn't know about her blood clot 8) It seemed the aides would be on their phone and chit chatting together sharing photos for too long and too often instead of assisting the patients. Having said all that there were nice people there who really cared about doing the right thing for my mother. At this moment I regret that I cannot remember their names as it was months ago. Still, neither I nor my sister, nor my mother, would want her to stay there again.

I spent 2 weeks at the Lutheran Home after surgery. The nurses and aides were amazing. They were very attentive and friendly. The physical and occupational therapy team was awesome. They were like a family. The energy in the PT gym was great. They prepared me to be strong and safe when I went home. The food wasn't great and TV provider was terrible. Besides that my stay was made more enjoyable by the staff. I would highly recommend Lutheran Home of Southbury for rehab.

This is my second stay here the other one about 10 months ago. I suffered from a severe infection. I Lost a great deal of weight, mostly muscle. I live in Danbury about 20 minutes away when there’s no traffic for like 35 to 40. So I would really rather beplaced in Danbury. Unfortunately the only well rated one there is Hancock hall. No room. Hi Time, the lines of the way in tween when I press call Bell until someone comes in my room about five minutes or less. I go to Danbury Hospital wound care every two weeks, and they are very happy with the care of my wound. For food is above average sometimes very tasty. Plus, the staff Is very attentive. we do not live in a perfect world, so there are some glitches but I am very satisfied with the care and surroundings

My wife is a resident at the memory care unit at Lutheran Home in Southbury, CT. I can not say enough about the staff. From the administrators to the lovely people who keep the facility clean and running. I've been by my wife's side for several days and I can see first hand how well tuned that staff operates. But it's not just about the resident, it's about the total family. Myself and my family who have stopped by to visit, were treated with kindness and professionalism. Ten years prior, my mother was a resident at the Lutheran Home. I never forgot the wonderful treatment she received. May God bless this team.

A beautiful home with wonderful staff.

I highly recommend the Lutheran Home! I am a medical social worker with extensive experience working in rehabilitation facilities, hospitals and home care. My family member was a recent resident of The Lutheran Home STR. She had an acute ICU hospitalization and was too weak to return home. She chose The Lutheran Home STR in hopes of regaining her strength and endurance. She succeeded due to the Amazing staff and Team Approach at The Lutheran Home. She was admitted the evening before Thanksgiving. We thought the facility would be short staffed due to the holiday yet we were incorrect. She received ongoing care and support by staff. CNAs, RN’s, dietary, housekeeping, rehab all had very caring and pleasant mannerisms and excellent bed side manners. Administration staff including laundry director even visited her with a thorough introduction. Words cannot describe how pleased we are with the Lutheran Home. She graduated from rehab and is home doing very well. I Highly Recommend the Lutheran Home for short and long term care needs!!!

My mother went there and was treated with the best hospitality I have ever seen! She felt like she gained a new family coming here. I would highly recommend this facility if you want a loved one to be not only cared for, but treated with the upmost respect.

Great place for my father to receive short term rehab. The whole team is wonderful including the nursing staff, the therapists, social worker, admissions coordinator, receptionist etc. Clean facility, very friendly staff who goes above and beyond and the care shows here.

Why would your home threaten to throw a 96-year-old elderly patient, who does have Medicare, plus title 19, plus health insurance, out and stop all therapy options when she ca not even yet walk? how cruel is your organization?
October 2020
Went to The Lutheran Home after I had my left knee replacement surgery. Also had a problem with the saphenous nerve. Am a retired RN so I assure you that I know what I’m talking about. The PT & OT Departments are better than exceptional; they are extraordinary. Am not related to anyone who works there. This is a legitimate evaluation from a real patient.
August 2018
This place looks nice but the doctors are never there; the physician assistant can't do more than give Tylenol. My mom was in her own feces for 25 minutes before the staff helped her. I can't imagine how long she would have stayed like that but I was there at the time so that was probably a quick response. My mom was there for rehab after a hospital stay due to UTI. They changed all her meds and despite my pleas and the fact that her Dr is supposed to be on call; nothing happened until I threatened to call the police. Once the meds were back to normal she was doing better. One day she was good. Next day something was not right. I know the signs and asked for tests and antibiotics. The PA could only give Tylenol. Twelve hours later; at 2 am, the Dr who never saw her sent us to the er. She does have a raging UTI. Her rehab will be set back big time. If all you want is a place to store your loved one this is ok. If your loved one might need more than a Tylenol avoid. I wanted to leave a review on their website but there's only one 5 star review and no way to add another. That's got to tell you something.
