Reflections on Clear Creek Commons. In 2023, I started the adventure of moving from our Hoosier State west to Colorado. Like most seniors, I realized I had to follow my children who had already made the transition. Going to the internet, I found Clear Creek Commons in Golden almost immediately. The Commons was built on a beautiful creek, nestled in a valley at the foothills of the great Rocky Mountains. It seemed like a dream. I quickly made arrangements to visit during the Christmas holidays. One of the thoughtful staff met me with my son at the office in the middle of a wicked snowstorm during her vacation! Clear Creek Commons is an older building with history. It is post Victorian with rooms that are spacious and windows that are tall when compared to one of the newer facilities back east. I was fascinated to see that it sported pocket doors that slid into the walls to make rooms even larger. I had not seen these in a long time. Their effect made the rooms even larger. There are plenty of commons, so a person is never alone. I signed on the dotted line and began the process of downsizing, finding a moving company, packing, selling the home, flying into Denver to meet the van in Golden, and months of unpacking. You know the drill! Golden is a small town, but one of the best kept secrets of the west. Downtown Golden is historic. Clear Creek Commons is located right in the middle of downtown. It is surrounded by historic buildings built in the 1800s with plaques such as one reading "Ulysses S. Grant Stayed Here." Views from within Clear Creek include the foothills of the Rockies, table-top mountains, and for people watchers, views of the main avenue where parades of cowboys, antique cars, and golden retrievers can be enjoyed; and where the famous sign bids "Welcome to Golden Where the West Lives." Within walking distance is the famous Colorado School of Mines, where the profession of mining was moved from the 19th century gold rush to a safe, strategic infrastructure. Across the creek is the Museum of Mountaineering that includes gear used by the US military on D-Day when scaling the cliffs. On Lookout Mountain, one can visit the grave of Buffalo Bill; at the bottom of the mountain there are trails showing dinosaur tracks. Restaurants line the main avenue where guests can try a bison burger instead of traditional beef. The community of current residents includes all kinds of backgrounds: Retired college professors; lawyers; veterans; tax attorneys; ham radio operators; retired teachers, including one published; a lady pilot; software engineers; and artists. The glue that keeps this diversity together is a love of adventure and a learned sense of respect for each person and his or her own life journey. There is no dining room, but usually plenty of food. A scrumptious meal prepared by the staff every Friday includes an entree and plenty of salads and desserts. Finally, there is a restaurant opening in the same building in June of 2024! Clear Creek Commons 55+ Apartment Living: A Loving and Vibrant Community Moving my mom into Clear Creek Commons has been the best decision we have ever made. This community is incredible and makes life here amazing for everyone. The amenities are top-notch, with weekly trips to places like Red Lobster and frequent grocery store outings. There are always ongoing events and activities that keep the residents engaged and happy. My mom loves Miss Kathy, who has created a warm and loving environment for everyone. She goes above and beyond, preparing delicious food and snacks, organizing movie nights, and planning fun community activities. The atmosphere here is truly amazing. Clear Creek Commons is a safe and welcoming place. We absolutely love it and highly recommend it to anyone considering a 55+ apartment living community for their loved ones.

I'm a retired health care exec..managing. Senior care facilities..so I know senior residences. Wife and I have been residents for 6 months...CCC is just right. You want independance and they assure that here..Just enough group activities to be fun..Great deck on the river..A grill..fire pit..flower boxes to grow ..Watch the tubers flow by in the summer..Restaurant on site..On Washington ave with many restauranrs..full of School of Mines kids.busy and energetic. And CCC is small..no 200 residents..Do your own meals..Time to move your home? Move here.

Truly love my home, my neighbors, the view, the location. Then Kathy and Leah really are so kind and thoughtful all the time. They bring us our packages, they cook for us. They truly make living here the best experience. My children are so happy this is my home. This is truly the best Senior place in Golden. I call my Boutique Resort.

Great place to live, I have lived here since 2011 and never plan on moving. The staff Leah and Cathy are so wonderful. They take me to get my hair done, to blackhawk so I can gamble and they cook for us. They truly care about all of us.

A Great Place to Live. Cathy is so kind, Leigh is so exuberant, and Karl who can fix everything has a warm sense of humor. Very convenient location and mini-bus is available for short trips. Patio with umbrellas and flowers so nice for lounging in fresh air in the summer.

I am so happy my family found this place. I lived out of State so my children did everything for me. Then I spoke over the phone to Cathy and Leah many times with questions they were so helpful and appreciated. My family looked at other places in Golden for Seniors and nothing compares to my home at Clear Creek Commons. There is a new place being built on highway 93 and my son said he went there. The staff was not pleasant and very stuffy feeling. He said he went back to Clear Creek and was so impressed of how everyone treated him and cares. I love my home I see the Creek. I really enjoy my neighbors and again the entire staff is so helpful and they truly care.

So happy with my choice that I made to move into Clear Creek Commons. I looked at other places in Golden. I looked at the new place off of highway 93 and they do not compare at all. You walk in the door and you can feel the warmth and care. The team here is amazing and really cares about each of us. Thank you for all your fun activities and communication during this epidemic. Best Place to live in Golden for Seniors. The remarkable Clear Creek Commons is located where I can walk out my front door and I am right downtown. I can walk to many different Restaurants or take a nice stroll along Clear Creek. The minute you walk in the door you will feel at home because Cathy and Leah care so much about each of us, they take pride in their job and it truly shows. They even cook for us with a smile on their face. I would not live anywhere else in Golden but here if you are over 55. The neighbors are so kind and what a joy to talk with. Thank you Clear Creek Commons for making my home the BEST!!!

Clear Creek Commons community is such a perfect environment for retirement at any age! We have we deliver healthy and classic meals each week to the customers wanting in-home meals, we also get to experience the energy, fun and laughter first hand. I cant rave enough with how beautiful, clean and inviting the property is and on top of that the managers onsite make it even more of a perfect location to nestle down and call home! Always going above above and beyond with making this community more than just a property.. the love is felt by everyone. Not to mention the spot is right downtown Golden with gorgeous Rocky Mountain views, breath of clean air, Clear Creek waters streaming by and lively folks strolling the town downtown make it nearly impossible to be anywhere else.
