We stayed at Sonoma Hills Retirement Living Community in one of their guest suites. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We go to visit our daughter, who lives in Sonoma. They have meals you can buy, they have their own library, they clean the apartment, they have activities and social hour every Friday. Everyone, and I mean everyone is so friendly. We were guests, but felt like a part of the community. We’ve stayed there 2 winters and will definitely stay there next year. I won’t even consider another place. Doug and Betty

WRITTEN BY: RESIDENT MARIE-THERESE DENNING The moment you enter the doors of Sonoma Hills, you feel you're in a community of happy, relaxed people. I have been here over 6 years and have never regretted my move. The director is accommodating and accessible, the staff is kind and considerate, the building is neat and clean, the landscape is pleasing and attractive, the chef takes suggestions. What more could you want?

Having to recently help my 80 year old healthy and independent father find a new place to call home I'm so incredibly grateful for having a client put Sonoma Hills Retirement Community on my radar. The very moment that I reached out to SHRC I was met with compassionate support and kind guidance from Pat Valone. Pat was patient with my father and myself and she eased what could have been a very challenging chapter in my father and my lives. Pat graciously toured us around SHRC and invited us to lunch, we were introduced to everyone including Mark Nillson. I am very much an observer of humans and their interactions and my astute understanding of people was very much aware that all the folks who my father and I met were real and kind and transparent and there to help others. I honestly fell a little in love with Pat the moment that I met her. Once my father moved in there were some growing pains that he had to learn to grow through and the entire community of Sonoma Hills has been with him at every juncture when he really needed the extra support. I do live close, I am in SF, however I'm not able to have my own eyes and ears on my father but my concerns about his aging process have been so incredibly softened with the support of Pat and the entire staff and community at SHRC. For me and for my father SHRC has been truly nothing shy of a God Send. So incredibly grateful for everyone and the love they share with my father and myself.

Sonoma Hills or SH as we call it has been the best move for our parents. They have been independent their whole life but needed more of a community. SH provides just that and then some more. We look forward to visit weekly our mother there. We feel part of this big family. The New Year’s Eve party was fun and I felt touch to be with all this wonderful human beings, residents and staff. Thank you SH staff and residents for making the world a better place.

I recently visited Sonoma and found the opportunity to stay in a one bedroom furnished guest apartment at Sonoma Hills Retirement. The location was perfect, a five minute drive from the center of town. The apartment was nicely furnished, and extremely clean. The community was lovely and everyone I encountered was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to town.

My mom lived at Sonoma Hills Retirement Community for four wonderful years, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place for her. The staff was always warm, attentive, and truly cared about the residents. She loved the sense of community, the activities, and how easy it was to make friends. It gave our family such peace of mind knowing she was happy, safe, and well cared for. We're so grateful for everything Sonoma Hills provided during her time there.

I lived over eleven very happy years at Sonoma Hills, leaving only when a health emergency would no longer allow me to live alone. I miss my apartment, but even more the good friends I suddenly had to leave behind. Marc Nilsson, Executive Director and Pat Valone, Community Liaison are such a large part of what makes Sonoma Hills such a great place to live, as are all the staff. Their loving care to each resident makes Sonoma Hills a unique and warm environment. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a long term secure safe home.

Sonoma Hills Executive Director Kimberley Bowlby gave us a call regarding a resident that needed our help. Kimberley was concerned her resident would be displaced due to her living conditions and reached out to us for help. Kimberley was able to coordinate the project with her resident and was present the entire time of the 2 day project with her resident and made necessary accommodations for our crew to make this project go very smoothly. The project was completed successfully and now her resident is living in safe conditions and enjoying her unit. Sonoma Hills has a wonderful staff that cares about their residents and goes out of there way to make sure they are well taken care of. Thank you Kimberley for all you do!
