lived here for almost a year and have to say for the first month or two it was fine. Then it was like an onion. The more layers that got peeled back, the worse it got. I didn’t know if I was living in a mental hospital or nursing home. It says it’s an active living community, but I’d say less than a third of the people actually are. It’s no fault of theirs, but the scary part is that if there were a fire or similar incident, the majority of the people would not be able to get out safely. There is one elevator (which locks in case of fire) and you can’t get wheelchairs or walkers down the stairs. They tell you to get out, but how? Perhaps you should stand on your balcony and hope someone gets to you before the fire/smoke do. There’s a number of people that live there are far from savory. I’ve seen drug deals in the parking lot; smoking whatever, wherever (supposed to be a designated area) and people gaining access that do not live there-doors propped open or codes given to anyone. In addition, some of the residents are very gossipy and mean. I actually had someone threaten me multiple times, in addition to committing other intimidating actions. This same person moved out and was still allowed back on the property where they continued to harass me. Other residents had expressed there uneasiness and fear of this same person, so it wasn’t just me. There are also a lot of houseless people wandering around and parking in the residents’ parking lot and the street outside the building. There’s a homeless shelter by the mall around the corner and a new one going up by the park down the street. That’s the same park that is the pickup/dropoff spot for local drug deals. The parking lot has also become a garbage disposal for everything from furniture, mattresses and just general trash. The manager is difficult at times to relate to and, in my opinion, gets way too involved in people’s lives and business. She allows some people to contact her personally before, after and during work for hours at a time. It’s unethical and almost borderline illegal. On one hand she states she can’t get involved and then she does. Finally, there is no air conditioning. I never thought to ask when I moved in because I just assumed any building more than one story tall, that housed the elderly, had air conditioning. You have to get your own and the only kind you can have are the big, bulky ones with the hose that takes up half of a bedroom. Doesn’t leave much room in a 500 square foot , one bedroom apartment. The residents call the third floor the floor of death because it obviously gets warmer there than any other floor. The lobby and “community room” (don’t get me started on that) are, of course nice and cool. Management went so far as to ask for volunteers to check on third floor neighbors when the weather got warmer. That is wrong in so many ways. It is income based and I think you get what you pay for. Some residents even get to live there on state vouchers, so basically for free. They are some of the worse offenders and act as if they are entitled to behave the way they do. I’ve worked hard my entire life and appreciate it when some kindness falls my way. I, unfortunately, saw little of that in my short time there. Do yourself and family a favor and find somewhere else to live.

I was experiencing difficulty with flushing my toilet, I put in a work order, which Janice accepted and inquired if the maintenance man could enter my apartment if I was not there. The next morning Thomas came to check on the condition of the toilet and explained to me that somehow the refill valve had been tampered with. He solved my problem by explaining, in layman's terms what had happened!

I recently toured Aventine at Vancouver while helping my aunt look for a 55+ community, and the experience really stood out compared to other properties we’ve visited. From the start, the management team was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely organized. They explained everything clearly and made sure we had all the information we needed from layouts and pricing to amenities and next steps. It made the whole visit feel smooth and stress free instead of overwhelming. The community itself felt calm, clean, and very well cared for. You can tell the staff takes pride in keeping the property maintained and creating a comfortable environment for residents. Most importantly, my aunt felt at ease and confident after the tour, which meant a lot to us. I would absolutely recommend Aventine at Vancouver to anyone looking for a welcoming and professionally managed 55+ community.

I haven't had too many maintenance issues with my apartment while living here. I have been here 5 years now. Every time that I had a maintenance issue it was promptly taken care of. I had an issue with my garbage disposal and Thomas fixed the issue and I'm good to go. I'm glad he's our maintenance man.

Thomas did a fantastic job replacing the overhead lights in my kitchen. He came in whilst he was on vacation. WOW! Talk about ethics and loyalty to the tenants and this apartment building. I can't thank him enough!!!! Thak you, Thomas!!! ‘ ‘
July 2025
The parking situation is terrible!!! Guests and caregivers are still not parking in the south parking lot and using up the parking spaces where the residents should be parking!! Also, residents are still smoking where they’re not allowed to!! Rules are not being enforced! The rent is also too high for the size of our apartments.
July 2025
Your property manager Janice is a jewel. She helped at every stage with move. Everything was clean and works. I'm still unpacking.
July 2025
Lovely place to live with wonderful staff, but if you're on a fixed income, the yearly rent increases don't mirror any cost of living increase your income may receive. Eventually, you may find yourself priced out of an apartment when you are faced with whether to pay rent or eat.

Thomas is awesome ‘

May 2025
We had a water pipe break a couple of months. Many of our residents suffered damage to their walls. They came and tore the bottom of some of our walls away. Living with an unfinished apartment we are still paying the same rent each month. There's so much dust and grime to our floors and counters. There's no talk of when our apartments will be finished. It took me 2 full hours at 5 a.m. to suck up all the water in my kitchen saving my carpet from damage and the apartment below me from flooding.I gave a bill to Vintage for 30$ for my 2 hours of work and 10$ for my having to move a lot of things so they could tear out my walls. I handed my bill in but haven't heard one word when I'll be taking the 40$ off my rent.
April 2025
The landscape is always maintained beautifully. I have a 4 foot x 4 foot garden space to grow veggies and flowers in the spring and summer. We have a functioning BBQ and outdoor tables with umbrellas. Walking pathways, a big social room where we watch movies and play games..puzzle in the corner. Christmas is very decorative, residents do that. Patio competition in the summer is fun. My apartment is small but very cozy. Just my size . Staff is friendly and available Monday thru Friday. Always coming in on weekends for emergencies. This is a non profit building so rents follow HUD guidelines. I love living here!!

Personable and very helpful. Roberta was so gracious and accommodating. Very refreshing in this day and age.
January 2025
Refrigerator is still freezing the food. Put in another request for repairs. The freezer is now working. So it was repaired! Then the handle for the toilet wouldn't shut off the water running into the toilet. I wiggled the handle and it fell off. It won't go back on. I marked the box N for entering apartment if I'm not here. I want to be here when they come back. UPDATE: Thomas came back a day or two later. The toilet was repaired. The refrigerator was replaced with another one. So far everything is working great!! Thank you so much, Thomas. You are really appreciated!

I've only been here 4 days, but so far everything and everyone has been wonderful! I am disabled which mobility is difficult for me. Once I was out of the car, a resident was offering to help me, another directed me to the office staff while helping me carry my bags. Very welcoming neighbors. Once I was with Janice, she was wonderful! She didn't miss a beat...very thorough. I wasn't up to a tour, so she showed me to my apartment. Very clean, everything I was hoping for!
July 2024
Automatic doors that don’t work, over six months without inside walls and paying full rent, not real pleased.
June 2024
The maintenance man did something hoping it would work. Unfortunately it didn’t work. The bathroom was still filled with smoke. Janice went and talked to both upper and lower residents. We will see if this works.

April 2024
It’s affordable nice place to live except it’s been almost 3 months and our hallway and walls has not been repaired due to unfortunate broken pipe. We have sweet nice women in the office. What I suggest is those units affected to unfortunate sutuation should have a discount on our rent. Thank you
April 2024
I love it here and the tenants are all wonderful and kind .the rent is high but it's not as much as some places .And management are friendly and helpful . everyone that lives here are a lot of fun and I have made some wonderful friends here I'll never forget you all
April 2024
They raise and rent every 6 monthe rents are too high. For senior low-income housing. We can barely get by. And racing's the rent's never stops. Laundry rooms are not clean. Then here's 6 years and in 6 years My rent has gone up to almost $400 more than when I first moved here.
April 2024
All the people I ran into at Vintage at Vancouver were all very nice. The problem was with the noise coming from the apartment above me. And it wasn't the people above me's fault. It's the terrible, cheap construction of the building. I suspect there's no insulation in the floor and the sub floor probably wasn't glued to the floor joists and they probably used nails instead of screws. I spent 6 months there getting almost no sleep. Plus you have the freeway noise. Plus in my opinion they're over charging by about 50% for the rent. It's definitely not worth it.
March 2024
I have happily lived at the Vintage since 2018. I love the quiet and beauty of this place. Residents are friendly and helpful. The management and maintenance team are quick to address any needs I have and will do so usually within 24 hrs. I love the large social room with full kitchen and the outdoor space, complete with BBQ grill. There's an exercise room, a library, and computers complete with wifi. There's a monthly newsletter filled with events and activities taking place during the month so you keep as active or busy as you like. I love this community and you will too!

Whenever I have a problem, and I have them rarely, maintenance has shown up immediately and taken care of it. Today I asked them to fix my towel rack. When he came to fix it, he noticed the neon light in my kitchen had burned out and replaced it too. Same day. These people are great.
January 2024
It’s better here now in the last 6 months or so than in the 3 years I’ve been here. Many things are off here but most importantly they do not enforce the rules.

There is a older women living here on the ground floor south wing who has two small children, four and five, one teenager, and a adult women living with her! On the weekends the four and five year olds run wild unattended through the complex wearing just diapers and yelling! This has been going on for two weeks which is in direct violation of her lease! This needs to stop now i have alot of health problems and this is not healthy! This is not what i signed up for! If it doesn't end soon im consulting attorney and wont hesitate to file a law suit! Im not moving either, this is disturbing the peace and needs to stop now!

I have lived here going on 5 years and love it, ESPECIALLY, since Christina and Kim, have become our Director and Asst. Director. The Director we had previously was HORRIBLE!! Christina has a LOT of compassion for us seniors and always has a smile and a friendly face. Kim is a hoot, she also has compassion and both will take the time to talk to us and make sure we are happy here. Christina has had the lobby and social room professionally cleaned, however, unfortunately we have people here that spill their coffee or other drinks and don't bother to clean it up. We also have several small dogs here and some of the owners DO NOT clean up after their dogs pee on the carpeting. Its NOT the managements fault, its those residents fault. We've been told that they will be doing some renovations this coming New Year (2018) and the carpeting will be replaced. All I can say is a BIG thank you to Christina and Kim, keep up the good work, you ladies ROCK!!
August 2016
I as a visitor at the Vintage a couple of weeks ago was totally disgusted with with the state of cleanlenes this building was in. The carpet in the entry way was filthy especially in front of the elevator. You would think since first impressions are so important that the establishment would at the minimum keep the entry way spotless. It appears the current staff just dosen't care. The owner might want to reconcider the current management staff and place someone in that position who actually would take pride in the copmpany they are representing. Just a thought.
