When my mom needed a place, I gave her several options, she chose Solstice Senior Living at Groton because of its welcoming homey atmosphere. She couldn’t have made a better choice. The facility is beautifully designed, having had a makeover not too long ago, clean and spacious with many common areas. The staff are engaged with the residents and willing to help with their specific needs. There are many activities, events and field trips keeping everyone entertained and involved. Their menu is varied and plentiful. House cleaning, three meals a day, laundry rooms add to the amenities. In addition there is an on site company called Love You Like Sister, if you should need to hire extra help. This place has been great for mom and for me as well. Thank you Solatice! You’re terrific!

Very friendly staff. Clean and welcome community area. Residents are engaged daily with a variety of activities. Local VFW holds monthly meeting on site at least once a year to keep the veterans in the loop.

Visiting a friend was a clean building. Maybe dinner was going on. Lots a people sitting in the dining hall. Looks like they have alot of fun activities for the residents.

I am writing this review on behalf of my Aunt who has been a resident at Solstice for several years. The facility is clean and the common areas are well appointed. The apartments are very nice with adequate closet space. The programming is varied and there is something for everyone. All staff members are polite and meet the needs of the residents. I recommend Solstice Senior Living in Groton for anyone looking for a senior community for themselves, a relative or friend.

I want to share my positive experience with Solstice Senior Living Groton. Until recently my mother was a resident at Solstice. Unfortunately, it became necessary to move her to a skilled nursing facility and I was deeply saddened that she had to leave such a wonderful Senior Living community. The staff at Solstice Groton are some of the kindest, most caring individuals I’ve ever met. Although this is an independent living facility, the employees truly care about their residents safety and wellbeing. The environment is warm, cheerful, homey and clean. Every time I walked through the building I witnessed housekeeping vigilantly cleaning the common areas. The Executive Director, Faron, is very engaged and interactive with the residents, and from what I observed, also very well liked. He even took the time to bring my mother’s companion to visit her while she was hospitalized. During the process of moving my mother out, Faron was compassionate and helpful. There are also plenty of activities planned to keep the residents socially active. I would highly recommend Solstice Senior Living to anyone looking for a Senior Living community. A very family-like environment.

Speaking strictly from the viewpoint of a tour and not a resident, this place appears impressive. The units are small and have basic level amenities. However the rent includes nearly every possible need (food, housekeeping, rides to appointments) and there are several additional very large rooms for resident use for various activities. It is exceedingly clean. IMHO the prices are fair.

I am writing this review on behalf of my father. He had a wonderful experience at Solstice and we are very appreciative of the Solstice staff, especially the Executive Director, Faron Boreham, who always provided prompt responses to requests and compassion to the residents.

I cannot say enough about this senior living location! Transitioning a loved one into a care facility can be stressful and hard, but solstice made the process amazing. All of the staff, but especially Faron, were SO kind and so helpful throughout the entire process. They made something that seemed daunting enjoyable, and created the perfect environment for my grandmother to be able to thrive! We highly recommend this location to anyone who is looking for care in the area.

Lunch was great, food was tasty. Visiting friends and was impressed with the building upgrades. Seems like there has been alot of positive changes. My friends talk of how things have gotton much better.

Once again, I believe it was a nice place for mom but noticing lots of changes lately that are not necessarily great. Rent went up another hundred plus dollars per month this year which is more than $500 per month increase in the last five years. Increase is much more than inflation has been and is especially difficult for people on fixed incomes. Many who have left say they can no longer afford to stay here. I am seeing lots of turn over in staff and it now seems to be under staffed. It took almost 4 weeks to have a lightbulb changed in the hallway outside my mother’s apartment door. Apartments are supposed to cleaned weekly and it has been nearly 2 weeks since her apartment has been cleaned. We dropped mom off this evening at 7 PM and the side parking lots were very dark. The door lights were on but not the parking lot lights. Also it seems that there are a lot of empty apartments. There was a time when you may have had to wait for an apartment to become available but certainly does not seem to be that way now. Lots of well loved staff members have left and we see a lot of new faces. This afternoon there was a concert for residents put on by young students and the outside hammering by workmen was extremely distracting. Several residents complained but to no avail. I am certain the people who arranged the performance did not expect workers on a Sunday afternoon. This could be a great place for seniors but we are concerned about what has been going on.

I am not sure what is going on since Solstice took over. No employee is there during the night in a home with many elderly people. My aunt lost her heat last night and was given two heaters, one worked and the other malfunctioned. The response time for issues is not good. Solstice, you should be managing this facility better. Your current employees are doing their best but apparently this place is understaffed. Not happy.

The rent increases are incredible, the latest a 9.21%. Over the last five years my parents rent has increased over $700.00. Most residents are on a fixed income. The social security cost of living increase is set to be 2.0% for 2018. You do the math. It is a shame they are pricing their residents right out.
