The staff is wonderful, always ready to assist, but it doesn't feel like home. The apartment is small with no outdoor space. (there was no apartment available with a terrace when we were looking, and if there had been it would have cost an additional $500 a month!) and outdoor areas are lacking. The parking is impossible, and the food.... it's horrid. Overcooked mushy veggies and meats cooked until they are like shoe leather.

Verena is a place I now call home and we love it here!. We are so happy we made the decision to downsize and lift the burden of caring for a house and property. Everyone here is super friendly, the staff really cares about you and the property is lovely. I especially love all the light from the big windows in our apt.

The best qualities of Verena are ingrained in the caring qualities of the staff. We've found that wwe are always noticed, acknowledged, cared for and genuinely feel appreciated. I believe that those qualities of care are infectious and spread to the residents. That makes Verena feel like a community that anyone would want to be a part of and that is why I would recommend this community to people I care about

Great place to live the staff and residents are very friendly and caring, and they take care of their elderly. They also have the best price I checked several places in Virginia and this was the best. If you are looking for an independent living senior apartment this is the go to place.

The Verena is a wonderful place for seniors to live. My mother has been very happy there and it has afforded her the ability to continue to live self-sufficiently. The amenities are wonderful, especially the meals that are provided. The staff worked tirelessly to keep it safe during the entire Covid-19 pandemic and went out of their way to make necessary adjustments.

I love how Verena took care of my Mom & Dad (and all your residents) during COVID. Bravo Verena! Being 1000 miles away, I worried about my parents, especially after all the reports of COVID sweeping through nursing homes and other elderly residential living areas. But you took the necessary steps to ensure all your residents stayed well and did what you could to keep them happy and entertained. Mom & Dad love your daily TV exercise classes. Well done! And, I love how, now that all your residents are twice vaccinated +14 days, you're opening things up to family members who are also twice vaccinated +14. I will be showing up to hug my parents for the first time in over a year on my +14 day and staying with them for a couple days. Thank you, Verena!

Excellent place for seniors as well as pricing. My mom lived there three years and you could not ask for a nicer place and staff. Everyone there is willing to help, especially the staff. This place is very clean and well kept.

My mother has been at Verena for over two years. My brothers an I are just very impressed with the Quality of not just the facilities but with the entire Staff working there. Not just impressed with the Management, but with the Cleaning Staff, Dining Facility Staff, etc. Everyone always smiles and seems to truly care for the residents and their guess. So much to do there for the residents and what is also impressive is seeing them (the residents)enjoying their stay there and their smiles as well. Looked around the Peninsula looking for the right place for our Mother. No one came close to what we found at Verena and the quality of the facilities and staff!!
