Beautifully restored WWII Air Force hospital. Great location and view of Bay. Looked at several places before deciding to settle my wife in a room there. Care staff and management has had a lot of turnover in past year. They have handled that well. Special shout out to Jennifer in placement. She was more than a sales person. Felt she advocated for the best placement for my wife.

I have a family member who lives at the Bluffs. They have very high employee turnover and are inadequately staffed. It is not a safe place. My family member regularly reports wait times of over an hour when emergency call buttons are pressed. We have brought these concerns to management multiple times with no resolution and no improvement, often no response to emails and phone calls.

We moved my 94-year-old mom into this community in February. It was a really hard transition. She had lived in her home for decades, and at the time I honestly did not want to be there. I was overwhelmed, confused, and angry. Now a few months later, she is doing really well. She has settled in, and I truly believe it is because of the people who work here and the k8ndn3ss of the other residents. The staff is amazing, they are kind, patient, and incredibly attentive. They treat her with so much love, care and respect, and they always keep us informed. If anything comes up, they let us know right away. It is clear they genuinely care about the people who live here. I am so grateful to them for my peace of mind and for helping my mom feel safe, comfortable, and at home.

i know too well how difficult it can be to provide memory care for our loved ones, but i also know that if my grandmother had been able to belong to a community like this, she could have flourished. all of our residents are always in great hands, & they never hesitate to extend them to one another either; the sense of community is warm & welcoming, which was great to see at our 4th of July bbq today spent with our families, pets, & each other. while it's inspiring & healing for me to give our residents the care they need & deserve, it is clear that it is also a facility-wide commitment. nobody does it like The Bluffs!

I have a very challenging friend who needs assistance with her memory. Her condition causes her rage and frustration as she doesn’t understand why she needs The Bluffs-but she does. The staff is exceedingly patient and kind with her regardless of her agitations and acting out. They understand that it isn’t personal and she cannot help it. They even go out of their way to provide foods and experiences she will enjoy and proceed with care at all times. (GEOVANY in the dining room is a gem!) It’s an unfortunate yet very human situation my friend is enduring but The Bluffs understands the assignment and knows exactly what to do for her.

Personally, the move into memory care for my mom was difficult. The staff was incredible and helped in her transition. I felt that her cognitive senses even improved a little. There was a bit of a hiccup in administrative staff turnover between Feb and March, but all is back in place and running smooth. I have a very good friend who was looking to move her dad into a caring home. I recommended The Bluffs. He's now a resident.

We moved my Mom’s belongings into The Bluffs in February and Mom moved in March. We have had such a lovely experience with everyone we have come in contact with there. The people who work there are very warm and caring and the residents have been very welcoming to Mom. We thought this might be a tough transition but it’s been very easy because of the great people and the beautiful facility. Hamilton Fields area is very peaceful and beautiful. Mom has nothing but nice things to say about the food experience at The Bluffs. She was a fabulous cook so having interesting menus and tasty food is very important for her. She is pleased with her entire experience. I have recommended The Bluffs to several others interested in an assisted living facility. I will continue to do so since we have been so pleased with it. I would highly recommend going for a tour to see how lovely it is.

We have been impressed with the way most of the staff at the Bluffs provide personal attention to the residents, greet them by name, keep them active, and generally care for the residents. When my mother accidentally put a ring on her finger that was too small, a caregiver used soap and water to patiently and gently massage it off. Yetzebi also has been excellent at helping bath my mother and maintain her personal hygiene.

Our mom has been living at The Bluffs since March 2024. We have been extremely happy with all aspects of The Bluffs. The caregivers, housekeeping, concierges (at the the front desk in the lobby), activities directors, servers, and chef all care very much about the residents and their families. Special shout out to Douglas (concierge), Jose (pretty much takes care of everything!), Nini and Katelin. The common areas of The Bluffs are very soothing, exceptionally clean, and we are happy with the space in our mom's room and the upkeep to her room. Our mom's room is light, bright, and much bigger than the last room at another assisted living facility in Novato.

After visiting many memory care facilities in both San Francisco and Marin County we chose the Bluffs at Hamilton Hill for our mother. Both Jeanette and Jason were knowledgeable, empathetic and helpful in our initial and follow up tours of the facility. The building itself is impressive, spotless, and has an abundance of attractive common areas for residents to enjoy both indoors and outdoors. We appreciate the first floor staff, as they have been professional and caring to my mother. I gladly write a review of The Bluffs senior living center. My friend and I checked 4 places after living a long while in San Rafael. The Bluffs was the choice, perhaps because it was smaller; the coridors less hospital-like, and it was pretty, newer . Of course, it took a month or so to adjust, (I should have expected). I am sure we made the right choice. The food is mostly good, sometimes even excellent (especially the soups and desserts). Resident cartakers and housekeepers are great, attentive and friendly. Even the management staff. All of this is a wonderful surprise given the horror stories you sometimes hear about senior facilities. So, include The Bluffs as you consider your transition from completely independent living.

Our initial response is very positive. The location is lovely and quiet. The food is better and the facility is nicer. The staff at both facilities are amazing and very caring. My mom moved to The Bluffs (1st floor) in February 2024 thanks to Jason Rolle who was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and so welcoming ~ and continues to be. I also can’t praise the caregivers and med techs on the first floor enough as well as Ruthanne. They face immense challenges but each and every one of them have an unwavering spirit and their dedication goes beyond the call of duty. They are truly angles on Earth, providing comfort, support and love. I am so grateful to have my mom in the care of this compassionate team. We are so fortunate to be in this community. This is a fantastic place to live. The exterior is magnificent and the interior is so beautifully decorated. It’s a pleasure just to walk the halls and the view from our apartment is spectacular. The staff and caregivers are amazing and they are such nice people. I wish we had moved here much sooner, but we weren’t ready to go into assisted-living, but we feel really lucky to be here.

My parents recently moved into The Bluffs, they chose The Bluffs because they were more comfortable with a smaller resident population. The caregivers are excellent, my parents feel welcomed and connected. I’m at this Senior Center and Memory Care facility 5 days x week helping one of my clients who is a resident at the bluffs since over a year ago. Because of this, I have the opportunity to connect with staff members and Memory Care Program Director Ruthanne. I must to say everyone there goes above and beyond when coming to residents needs. Staff and director are so caring and loving to residents treating them with so much love and compassion. I moved my parents in with very little notice. It was chaotic and a bit messy. The staff came through and really helped us get settled. It took very little time for them to get adjusted and they are not just living, but living well. The company of others for meals has given them a social outlet that they haven’t had for years. Jeanette is a truly excellent representative of The Bluffs. She’s knowledgeable about all the various services The Bluffs affords its residents and gives prospective residents excellent insight into what it’s like to reside there. But she doesn’t stop there. My parents now reside at The Bluffs and, far from becoming a stranger after they were installed as residents, she’s made herself completely available at anytime to facilitate and eliminate the inevitable issues that have come up during such an important transition. I have been so grateful to be able to access her deep experience and extensive skill sets and would not have been able to help my parents so completely without her assistance. Her professionalism, follow-through and friendly manner make her unique among the Assisted Living community of administrators.

The Bluffs at Hamilton is one of my favorite communities in Marin County. Nestled in a very peaceful and beautiful location away from the hustle-bustle, the grounds are absolutely stunning and offer great walking trails. The management team is incredible, going above and beyond for their clients. Great memory care unit, I have watched people transform and find new meaning and fulfillment in their lives when they move there and make it their forever home. A place where people truly can age gracefully in place knowing their needs and lifestyle preferences are taken care of. 10/10 would recommend

We’ve had our dad at Hamilton Hill since November in the memory care part of the home. Ruthanne is the director since the new year and she is incredible. It needed some serious changes in care and she swooped in and started fixing everything right away. There’s a lighter spirit to the staff now and we are very happy now that Ruthanne is there. They currently have an interim director so before you sign on I would make sure to meet the director, know their plans, and ensure Ruthanne is still there. She cares deeply and is the heart of the memory care area. It’s all about the staff, don’t be wooed by the beautiful new facility (it is lovely).

We visited for a tour without an appointment. Mainly out of curiosity , ( I am a retired geriatric nurse) although I will be 80 next month. It is a lovely well appointed facility. We saw an activity that was well attended and appeared to be well received by residents. Appetizers/ snacks appeared well made and presented. Our host was upbeat and informative(manager of sales ) he was well acquainted with the residents passing by and other staff. If you or a family member have memory care needs or need an assist with self care or just need a safety net. I suggest you take a look at the Bluffs at Hamilton. The surrounding hills and water are beautiful.

If your loved one is not thriving in their senior living community, you should strongly consider a move to Elegance at Hamilton Hill. Set in the quaint, historic, safe and peaceful setting of the former Hamilton Air Force Base, Elegance sits atop an oak-lined hill occupying the renovated former military hospital. The renovations preserved the historic features while adding all the modern amenities and state of the art infrastructure one would expect of a modern senior living community. When you walk through the entrance, you know you have arrived. The artwork is stunning, furnishings are modern with clean lines, and the environment is open, grand, filled with light and impeccably clean. Most importantly however, are the staffing and services that Elegance provides. My parent arrived from another facility lonely, isolated and withdrawn. In their prior setting, my parent had not made any connections with fellow residents, participated in any activities and remained isolated in their room sleeping or eating alone day after day. After just 2 weeks at Elegance, they are engaged fully with both residents and staff, eating communally, learning and enjoying themselves. This well-known Spanish revival-style building was once the home of the historic Hamilton hospital at the former Hamilton U.S. Airforce Base. This beautiful building has been masterfully repurposed and renovated into an 80-unit senior assisted living center with 40 rooms designated for luxury Assisted Living and 40 additional rooms for Memory Care residents. Built with their affiliated development partner, Elegance Living, and working closely with the Novato City Council, this thoroughly modernized senior living community has preserved the architectural integrity of the entire front facade that epitomizes the building’s landmark Spanish Mediterranean architecture. They’ve also expanded the central courtyard to allow for sunlight, landscaping and space for a variety of outdoor activities. Elegance at Novato has been designed to provide a wonderful home environment for older adults who are still fairly active and independent but may require assistance with some of the activities of daily living. The community also features a separate wing and services for those adults suffering from some form of memory impairment or dementia. This amazing new housing option is something Novato has desperately needed and is now a chance for people to stay in the area they love. I am so proud of this project and it gives me great joy to see it realized. My Mom's dying wish 11 years ago was to see that seniors had options to live in Novato - now 11 years later it has happened.
