The facility is lovely and well maintained. The dining staff is consistent and supportive. The cleaning teams come in with kindness, cheerfulness and respect. Moving to Friendship Village Chesterfield was the second best decision my wife and I ever made. Glad we made the decision when we did rather than thinking we were not ready and waiting until it was too late to enjoy the carefree living. It is like being on a never ending cruse. Our children appreciate we made the decision rather than burdening them with needing to make decisions about our care as we aged.

I had some health issues that cropped up that caused me to move from my Villa that I just loved to a retirement community. This was essential in many ways as I could no longer drive. Lots of changes. My brother brought me her and I toured with Nathan and was sold on everything...especially the way the staff were treating the residents. I thought to myself, "I wonder if they will be this nice when I move in?" I will be here two years in August. The staff is even nicer than before and as time goes on each department serves the residents with kindness and consideration. I am impressed with maintenance and house service as they are friendly and will stay on a task until they get it right for you. The food is phenomenal, the chef is top quality and all his department follows suit. The business office is right there when you need them. I have had cause to use Health Servies and they have an OT/Pt right here so I didn't have to go out of the building. Transportation drives me to all of my Dr. appointments and they have scheduled times for shopping and drugstore trips. There are so many activities, you could be busy every day. My favorite is Bocce Ball and I have taken up acrylic painting which is new for me and fun. I have a two-bedroom apartment with wonderful space and windows overlooking the trees in the woods! They have not paid me to write this, I say it all the time to people who come touring in the halls. Give it a tour, you will not be disappointed.

I enjoy living in beautiful surroundings without the responsibility of having to care for the lawn myself. I'm a member of the Garden Club and participate in the pool exercise class and gym classes, weekly. And the gym just got brand new equipment and our trainers have helped us to start using it. Living adjacent to Faust Park as we do, I volunteer in both historical and landscaping projects. And I also bicycle in the park. We recently had occasion to utilize our Life Care option when my wife entered the Care Center following an illness. The transition from Independent Living was seamless. The nurses and aides were just outstanding and we could not have received better care anywhere. The social worker assisted us with moving back into independent living as outpatients and has arranged for continuing outpatient therapy. All these transitions and arrangements have been handled by Friendship Village very smoothly.

I love it here! This is a fantastic place to be. All of the staff are very competent, friendly and helpful. The food is good. We have complimentary house cleaning and laundry service. They offer a campus full of activities like the library, a small convenience store, medical services, pool activities, a gym and Chapel. I’m a member of the writing group and there are many other groups available for your interests like a drama club, a book club and more.

I've been working here at Friendship Village for almost 8 years in July. After doing this work for nearly 20 years and working in different facilities, this is hands down, THE best place I've worked thus far. I told Ken(Our Administrator) this is my last stop as far as Nursing goes, and I wholeheartedly meant it! I'm as grateful and over joyed as I was then, as Lisa Howard was a part of my hiring process. To now seeing that same Lisa transcend to our now Director of Nursing! Super proud, and couldn't think of a more hard working, dedicated, humble, kind, more deserving person. GREAT place to work. Its a family environment here which makes it an even greater place to live!

My mother transferred here to the rehab facility in Chesterfield after surgery. The retirement section looks fantastic. But the rehab facility is old and run down. The system for check in is awful and after I left my mother, I was seriously considering just taking her back home with me. I brought her in and left her in the lobby to go get her belongings from the car and when I came back a few minutes later my mother was gone. They took her back already! I was so frustrated, especially since we can't visit because she would be in isolation for 2 weeks due to COVID. They did finally bring her back up after I became upset for not being able to say goodbye. We are guardians for our mother and they had no idea how to handle that and it wasn't until 5 days after she arrived that I was sent admitting paperwork to sign for her. Due to COVID restrictions we aren't able to visit and she is isolated in quarantine in her room. She was only getting "bed baths" and was not able to shower or wash her hair the entire week she was there. My mother has a lot of accidents and it seems horrifying to think she has gone so long without showering. The place seems very unorganized and my mother said it would take up to 1.5-2 hours to get her medications after calling for the nurses. When I picked her up to come home, they just brought everything out. no review of her situation or medications. Perhaps they are understaffed. Whatever the reason for the unorganized system.. we will not be coming back if my mother should ever need assistance in the future.

I have lived at Friendship Village for almost 6 years. Contrary to what Marlynne K says, the food has NEVER been horrendous. With the construction going on we were dining in temporary facilities awaiting the new dining room. During this period, sometimes food service was challenging, but always good. Now with the new spacious dining room opening on November 4, 2019 we have a beautiful dining facility with new furniture, china, etc. all prepared in a new world class kitchen by great chefs. The food has definitely been a solid 5 stars in the new dining room!

My mom has been on their skilled nursing facility for over a year. This is actually a really great place for your loved one. The people are great, the services are good. If I have any knock on it, it's just that the skilled nursing facility is a little old, I wish it was more modern and rooms had a better layout, but it's clean and they do what they can to make it cheerie. What building or other problems they do have are made up for by the people and management, and these are the really important things you need to be aware of and appreciate. They do a great job of keeping in touch with me, keeping me informed, trying to help with whatever I need for my mom. I f there ever is a problem, or if they do make a mistake, and there have been a couple, they are honest and let me know right away. They don't hide their problems, which is so so very important. I trust them with Mom!! They have a difficult job at best and they do their very best to do it right. Just fyi, at first, I did the whole walk around, talk to the patrons living there, sniffed the air, etc.. everything they tell you to do, and it was pretty good overall. Everyone I talked to in or from the assisted living loved the place!! For real! I was really surprised at that. In skilled nursing, it was pretty good, but honestly, I don't know if anyone is truly ever 'happy' to be in skilled nursing, anywhere, because you're there because you're not well, but they do what they can to keep everyone healthy, safe, and as happy as possible, and Mom needs pretty much constant care and gets it. Mom feels like it's home, and she feels safer there than she did at her own home, having the people arounda rou it's easier, nothing to take care of, no power outages. Her nurses are very caring, talk to me all the time, call me and let me know if there is anything odd or changed about mom, or if mom is feeling sad or having problems. That means a lot, and not something they are required to do. Oh, the food is good too, nothing fancy, but fresh and made to order if you want that. I truly appreciate all their hard work and care. It does feel like a village.. I keep my eyes and ears open to be sure Mom is in the best place I can find and afford, but so far it's the best I've found. Look at Medicare.gov and check those ratings too, they rank high. You should feel safe and comfortable with your decision if your loved one comes to friendship village Chesterfield.

I have been at Friendship Village for two years now. The community is very friendly and there are opportunities to take part in multiple games/entertainment throughout the day. Food is absolutely wonderful!. Transportation is available to get you anywhere you need to go.
