As a hospice professional, I have the opportunity to visit many senior living communities, and I was truly impressed with The Philomena. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with compassion. I had the pleasure of meeting Priscilla, the Executive Director, who was incredibly kind and gracious. She took the time to answer my questions, explain their services, and give me a better understanding of their community. It was clear how much she and her team genuinely care about their residents and their families. One of the highlights of my visit was meeting their amazing community dog, Chewy, who has been nationally recognized and even featured on national television! I honestly felt like I was meeting a celebrity. He brought so much joy to everyone around him and made my visit even more memorable. If you’re looking for a beautiful, caring assisted living community where residents are treated like family, I highly recommend The Philomena. The warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly set this community apart.

The Philomena is such a beautiful and welcoming assisted living community. There’s a lively energy here, and the residents are social, engaged, and clearly enjoying life together. Lauren brings great creativity to activities, and Jewel is always warm and helpful when connecting with families. It’s just a genuinely fun, uplifting place to spend time.

The Philomena is a wonderful facility with even better staff and residents. The building is always clean as a whistle and tidy, with ample space and activities for residents to enjoy themselves. I’d like to start this review by letting you know that there is a right way and a wrong way to do assisted living. The right way is appreciating the services that are constant and beneficial like 3 square meals a day. Laundry service and having laundry rooms. Housekeeping services. Activities and entertainment available on a regular. Community outings are available as well. A salon in house for beauty care. Caregiving (caregivers are not nurses) ASSISTANCE available-toileting, bathing, dressing and transfers. Best practice if possible is physical daily checkins/weekly checkins- if your loved ones are low on snacks or food, toiletries including incontinent care items (adult briefs and large pads, WIPES, washable bed pads, perennials sprays, moisturizing lotion and rash prevention ointments). Make sure they always have shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, hair brush/ comb, plenty of wash cloths and bath towels, bed sheets and covers (label with name and room #). They might need items resupplied like clothing and underwear. Check hygiene self care- bathing, changing clothes, brushing teeth, trimming hand and toe nails, haircuts and shaving. If you have hospice services check status with them and resupply incontinence items on time. Stay on top with routine Dental and Dr. appointments. If they have limited movements request regular checks for bed sores and rotations, as well of feedings assistance. Post important request on a easily visible location for staff to see. Label glasses with loved ones name, they will get lost or misplaced and do not leave valuable jewelry with a memory care adult- it will get lost or misplaced. The wrong way to do assisted living/memory care is leaving your vulnerable adult and never or rarely checking in.

The Philomena has been amazing for my family these past 2 years. My grandfather isn't the easiest man to deal with, but they always treat him with respect and have his best interests in mind. Ian, the director, is the best. He really cares about the people in his community and their families. He follows through with what he says - which doesn't always happen with people in charge! I would 100% recommend the Philomena.

I went to visit a new friend Ms MK, who lives here. The establishment is very clean and bright. The receptionist was polite and helped me sign in. The clients were engaged in activities. The hallways were clear of congestion. The room I visited was clean and cozy. The dining room was prepared as if it was a nice restaurant. Upon leaving the new front staff was also nice. I love The Philomena! It has such a warm and welcoming feel to it. Everyone always seems to be happy and peaceful. The staff is always professional yet they have a way of making you feel like a good friend. And the food is delicious! I love to eat with my loved one whenever I can. My compliments to the Chef! I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Philomena, and I have to say, I was blown away by the exceptional care and attention to detail that I witnessed. The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about the residents and their families. The facilities themselves were top-notch, with beautiful landscaping, spacious living areas, and plenty of amenities to keep residents engaged and entertained. The dining options were also impressive, with a wide variety of healthy and delicious meal choices that catered to all dietary needs and preferences. But what really stood out to me about this Assisted Living Community was the sense of community and belonging that permeated throughout the entire space. The residents all seemed happy, comfortable, and well-cared-for, and the staff did an amazing job of fostering a warm and welcoming environment. If you're shopping around for an assisted living community for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend giving this place a visit. It's truly a gem and deserves all the recognition it can get!

The place is very beautiful and clean, and something I really liked and that caught my attention was the security they provide for their customers and visitors. This was one of the things I loved most. I also appreciated the staff's kindness in welcoming me and verifying my identity, whether I was a relative or a friend, and even contacting my family to see if they knew me. Overall, I'm very happy to see this person I care about and love so much in this lovely place.

As a large family, deeply rooted in the Central Texas area, we settled on The Philomena for my aunt AND uncle after much searching, debating, and conversation. I must say, this is the best decision we ever made and probably the only thing we have ever agreed upon as a family. The Philomena follows through on their promises, the staff is amazing, especially the ED, Ian. He listens and creates solutions as residents have separate needs. The food is great and there is always something going on for my loved ones to participate in. I highly recommend this community. Plus the location is perfect! Along the 35 corridor, without the traffic feel yet close to the hospital, doctors, and shopping. They do provide transportation to the aforementioned. Thank you Philomena for being a great extended member of the family and treating our actual family as if they were your own!

My father has been a resident at The Philomena for a year now. I am so happy with our decision. He has told me many times how happy he is with the food and his room. He is allowed to have his cat live with him, which is a huge benefit. The other residents are very nice and he enjoys socializing with them. And last but not least, the the staff are warm and caring. I’m hoping he will be able to enjoy it for a long time to come.

The Philomena welcomed my mother-in-law in a time of some emergency. The staff are so caring and all have been very open with us. The Memory Care staff have done so much to help her adjust. We are truly fortunate to have found this community for her to live in.
