Reviews Spring Arbor of Frederick
August 2026
About this time last year, things were quite different for our family as we were looking at Spring Arbor as a possible place for Mom. Upon first entering Spring Arbor, we were immediately impressed. Our dealings with the team that lead up to Mom’s admission were positive and straight forward. Joining your family in November was a privilege and we will never forget. Your holiday celebrations and activities were outstanding, Mary really enjoyed herself. Thank you all for your kindness, compassion and professionalism.

My mother and her husband moved from their home in Florida to Spring Arbor a bit over a year ago. From the on-set, the staff was friendly, transparent and communicated well. Even in the family's toughest time they were wonderful and very accommodating. Can't say enough about the facility and their staff.

Spring Arbor of Frederick has been caring for my parents in the Assisted Living for over 2 years. In that time I’ve seen wonderful caregiving, staff, and leadership and witnessed the friendly, healthy environment every day. The nursing caregivers and medical assistants truly care as if these were their own parents. Mom, now that Dad passed, is living alone but never alone as the staff care and assure she is continually involved and happy. It’s a beautiful clean facility. The food is goodmom loves it and the variety. Lots of nice activities and special events. Compliments to the Activities Director for make each day different, fun and full of engagement.

The engagement the staff gives to my dad is the best! Kathy and Tori always find a way. I’ve never seen my dad do any crafty things and he loves it. Always making gifts for all of us. Everyone at the front desk always bends over backwards to answer all my questions and if they don’t know, they find out and gets back to me. I applaud all staff when having to deal with his colostomy when things go wrong. They deal with it so much better than I could ever. No matter where you go there will always be something you don’t like. I took an issue to the administrators and it was addressed immediately and informed me in writing what was done. They have always done what ever necessary to make my dad feel comfortable. He loves the food, always trying to get more dessert. Great place for your loved ones.

A dear friend whose health has been declining made the decision to leave her home of over 50 years and live at Spring Arbor in Frederick MD. This was a difficult decision for her and her daughter to make. I was a part time caregiver for her in her home for 1.5 years before she moved to Spring Arbor. I was asked to continue part time with my client while living at Spring Arbor. Spring Arbor is a beautiful facility. It appears to be well maintained by Chris and his team. Ester in the laundry department did a fantastic job of doing my clients laundry weekly always with a smile on her face. Janice and Terry always were welcoming at the reception area. Comfort, Fatou, Gelsy, Sophie and Vanessa were fantastic med techs/caregivers. It became obvious to my client, her daughter and all of the agency caregivers that Spring Arbor accepted a client they were not qualified or prepared to accept. My client was categorized as level 5. After my clients daughter met with management several times, along with 20 + emails and numerous calls, no sufficient changes were made. After two months my clients daughter had to find a qualified assisted living facility for her mother and moved her mother out of Spring Arbor. As a caregiver for over 7 years and helping our seniors they deserve better! This simply didn’t happen at Spring Arbor. It should not take 25 + minutes for a caregiver to arrive to help a client. Meals should be delivered hot and not luke warm with no mention to heat up in the clients room once delivered. A client should not have bruised hands solely because most of the caregivers were not trained correctly on how to transfer. Caregivers should not be responsible for as many as 13 residents and all of their needs. Caregivers should have the time to build relationships with the clients. Caregivers should be able to pronounce the client’s name and be able to communicate clearly. Caregivers should CARE.

My family and I needed to make a decision as my mother in law has been declining somewhat rapidly recently. We decided to check out Spring Arbor and I was very surprised with how nice the facility was. They gave us a tour which included being able to see the food options. There were many events scheduled for the residents and I got the impression that the residents were very well taken of. The price also seemed fitting given inflation and market changes. I will definitely be looking into next steps with Spring Arbor for my mother in laws care.

My husband and I visited Spring Arbor Senior Care this weekend as we are exploring options for my father, whose mental health has been declining. Of all the places we toured, this stood out as the best option. The staff were friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely cared about getting to know our needs and concerns. The facility itself was very clean, well-kept, and you could tell real attention has been paid to its upkeep. While the cost was initially a surprise, we found it to be competitive with other facilities”and Spring Arbor offered far more amenities than many others we looked at. Overall, this was by far the most comforting and reassuring option we’ve seen for my father’s future care.

This facility appears to be one of the nicer ones of its type in the area. The local management and staff seem friendly and well-meaning. There are many activities and events for the residents. The place is clean and well-maintained. But, all of this comes at a very high price, well above the national average. Beware of their pricing policies. The initial price quote is quickly bumped up after the resident has moved in, using their point system for care, even if the resident is mostly independent. This is followed by a price increase every October which has averaged over 12% annually the last two years. Their pricing policy effectively penalizes longer-term residents who pay more than new residents. Residents are leaving as a result. The corporation should take notice and do a better job controlling their costs and revising their pricing in order to offer better value and more customer satisfaction.

I couldn’t be happier. I have a Parent in AL and one in Cottage. The caregivers on both sides literally show their love to residents. They want them to be happy and healthy. The Directors are more than welcoming to make sure I am happy. The activities are off the hook crazy and exciting. The Family gatherings are well thought out and enjoyable for all. The rooms are spacious where you can make it your home. The garden areas and front porch with rocking chairs are the dream to sit out and watch the planes fly by. I honk when arriving and leaving so the residents on front porch know it’s me coming or going. Spring Arbor is apart of our Family

This place is amazing. Bright, beautiful, friendly. The staff has been very attentive and helpful as we just moved our parents in. My parents can't believe they get to spend this part of their lives in a place like this. Lots of activities and open spaces for gatherings. It doesn't look like your typical assisted living facility. We love it and so do my parents

My father was a resident in the Cottage. I was very pleased with the care my father received. Anytime I had a question or concern, the staff was very quick to respond. My father loved the staff and especially all the activities that were planned.

My wife and I were able to assist her mom with living here at Spring Arbor of Frederick back in July 2021 after a bad fall. The place is beautiful- modern - clean -well run and staffed with people who sincerely want to serve and care for the residents. The dining area is welcoming and far better than most each day. The rooms are well lit and like new for each arriving resident. The medical care is appropriate for each residents care level and has progressed as she had aged and needed more than medication management. Lately they have coordinated well with Hospice to allow her to stay amongst her friends - both other residents and the friends she had developed with the staff. They offer medical services on site or provide transportation to local doctors offices and labs. We certainly recommend Spring Arbor to those searching for a great place for older loved ones.
